I know this video was years ago, but I wanted to thank you for sharing one of the albums of Daddy's Hands. I came across the band when I searched a playlist of obscure songs, and found, "There Won't Be A Next Time" in it, and I instantly got hooked on the band after listening to "Incest at Best." It's sad they fell into obscurity, and that Dave and Emily passed, but I'm glad I've got to listen to more of their lovely music, and I plan on trying to find the cassette tapes from some of their albums. Again, thank you for the video. ❤️
It's almost been five years since I first heard this from the Doomer memes. Things have gotten much better in my life and I still bump this every so often because I remember it being there for me when things were really bad. Hope everyone is ok who doomed it up with these guys
amazing band and musician, so glad you put this comp together! here is a list of bands dave wenger was in if people are interested: moral decay, m blanket, breakwater, ache hour credo
Thank you! It's great to see all of these songs finally together in one video. Listen to M-Blanket and Ache Hour Credo too, those were a couple of Dave Wenger's bands before Daddy's Hands and they're amazing as well. I really want someone to reissue all of that guy's music. Everybody I've shown Dave Wenger's music recognizes its greatness.
I loved M-blanket sooo much! I feel like they were one of the best bands of the 90's. My band slinky did a split 7" with them... it was such an honor to put that out. we still have a few copies. It features M-Blanket's Wet Meat, Cappy, and Invites Only. I think this particular tape above is the closest to m-blanket because of its closeness to Ache Hour Credo...His vocals and guitar are still reminiscent of M-Blanket. the Addition of Emily's voice was magic. Welcome kings is great- so different but great all the same--- though it is sorely missing emily's presence.... you can tell he's missing her on that record. This is where good music acctually exists.... way down here under a million other songs and videos.
@@arvelcrynyd6311 I know the slinky stuff doesn't really stand up to the dominance of M-blanket but they blew my mind. I discovered them accidentally back in 93 or 94... I was looking for labels that would trade records for our first record and i came across this add in MRR for a label called Slow to Burn and they had this really attractive record with a cool cover of captain america with a black eye - the record was by a band called Shiner. I asked to trade for some of those records, but in return i got a few of those and a record by M-blanket! as soon as i put that record on my face melted off- for me it was a blend of all my favorite bands at the time (crimpshrine, operation ivy, jawbreaker, and the clash) they had distilled everything that i wanted in music down into this one little record. I wanted to know everything i could about them and i wanted all of their music... I think i ended up with most of it... i connected with Chad the bassist to get the tapes for the record... when we were on tour in 1995 we ran into Submission Hold who were friends with M-blanket and Andy their bassist hooked me up with their demo and the Ache hour credo tape as well as the tape that Emily and her band Floragore put out..... time went by and i was at a show around 2008 or so here in florida when i struck up a conversation with a guy from the record label A.D.D. and i found out that Dave had died... it was such a blow. so weird to find that out. but that's when i discovered Daddy's Hands and the apparent influence Dave Wenger had on so much great music. Not sure why we have to dig so deep for everything, but i will continue to do my digging.
