Great contrast with the wough ride of the wake boarders and the seemingly effortless power of the trimaran. Stunning piece of footage. I'm very jealous.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for just letting this excellent clip run without any background music. And the shots of that trimaran riding on just one outrigger are amazing.
Whoo - woooo!! Says it all!! We own a 26 foot trimaran and have hit 24 knots once and 20 knots many times and wondered how we could get a wake/kite boarder behind our boat. Now I know I need a zodiac for a chase craft! KUDOS to this team of French adrenaline junkies!
Brilliant. The power of these machines has to be seen and felt to be believed. And look at the amount of wind that it does it in: almost no wind at all. And it doesn't matter if it's kite surfing or wakeboarding, wouldn't it be just great to do it anyway
The wakeboarding was cool for about 30 seconds, (not including when the guy wiped out). What really blew me away was seeing that trimaran up on one outrigger. It's cool to see on a smaller trimaran, but this thin is a monster.
That Brossard Tri is incredible, Its like a huge hydrofoil when the wind hits it. I'd say its deadyly around the med, but it looks pritty fragile for sailing in any kind of heavy weather.
water skiing, with a fat board, I guess because of the slow speed. How high are the tow lines from the water? Does the trimaran have a hydrofoil were it looks like the center board would be?
I wasn't aware they were towing from the mast but on inspection it looks like the lines are coming from about 20 ft below the first set of spreaders. In flat water I should think there is sufficient strength there. Water colour depends on cloud cover and pollution, not just depth. The keen eyed may also notice the presence of a helicopter. looks like a safe environment for rescue if anything goes wrong. Btw, you can't dismiss their experience as trivial, yet highlight mine as pivotal.
the two on the wakeboards are employees that did not perform as expected, the ride until one falls, competing to see which one keeps their job. hes a mate of mine and does this all the time
what about the man who fell off?? wasnt that a man overboard situation... I hope he got picked up by the follow boat. and.... the Helicopter. Doesnt it affect the wind pattern around the trimaran?
LOL like it up on one hull. Definately a smoother ride on the trimaran than the boards! Mythbusters could have used a trimaran instead of a ship that day....much more exciting
Back then: trimaran, board, helicopter and cameraman. These days: foiling trimaran, foil boards, drone with a goPro, vests, impact vests, helmets, eye protection.
A lot of money that shows the world it is no oil leaking and still having fun. Riding wind, waves, earth, without any other energies than renewable is respectable as it will help us getting free of oil lobbies Helicopter was one time, world watch it for 3 years now. Good global deal to me
To everyone posting about how they have done this from smaller craft.....ever done so while beating to windward? They are in this video, which is quite impressive.
if you look at other sports.. for example basketball: - i wear out one pair of shoes in 1 1/2 year and then your need to buy shorts and tanks and so on.. - you'll need a kite (which loose around 30-40% in value the first year) so buying a used one is much cheaper.. then a board and a pair of surf-shorts or weatsuite is not that expensive around winter shen it's often sale on this kind of stuff
Ive done this on Holiday with a boat about a third of the size- we called it bilge boarding :) Can't really call it Kitesurfing when there's no kite involved...

Really am missing the original upload of this video from around 2008... had the greatest song playing in the background... can't seem to find it now
Un trimaran gîtant autant à cette allure est toujours aussi magnifique!
That boat is amazing. I love trimarans. Some beautiful hull flying there!

Impressed with the helicopter flying sideways behind at 1:50.
Love the shot of the skipper, tiller in one hand, sheet in the other ; )

excellent, nice idea, i ve already seen that with only one person behind , and it s still exiting to watch this and imagine the feelings of the riders

that was so amazing when the trimaran was so hi in the air...
that would be so much fun to ride in..
I'm salivating over that boat. Trimaran, 60 ft. and it looks like it cuts through the water like a knife through butter.
ugh sailgasm.

nice and quiet no engine noise !! fast boat, thanks for posting
Awesome!
Must be fun boarding a sailboat.
And speaking of sailboats, that tri is SWEET!!
Let me sail with you guys pleeease
It is, of course. And the rudder of the center hull IS out of the water, that's why they have a small one on each swimmer, too.
I can't believe how much that trimaran was heeling at 2:25! Wow!
Very graceful, especially when flying on just the outrigger. like small fish following a giant stately manta
What an amazing ride. great footage
it is not kitesurfing, it is wakeboarding. You nave to have a kite and a harness for Kite surfing.
Dragged behind from a sail, sound like kitesurfing to me...

Can you do this on a smaller trimaran as well?? Nice speed and beautiful video!
Well, if you watch the whole thing it might be boring, but pretty awesome to see a Tri up on one hull!
Looks like a really great way to spend the day :)
Beautiful boat!!!!!!! I love this vid!!!!
I hadn't noticed those little fins on the outer hulls. You are right.
Some people actually DO own the world.
What a beautiful boat..
Thats a dream for every, who kite surf/wakeboarding sport do. Great! :-)
awesome, next episode?
nice boat. is that long keel skeg standard for that type of hull? is that adjustable?
Mutlyhulls are soo much more fun then the balasted staff!!!
Way to go guys! Awesome! Sooooo jelaous!
there's no wake when you flying two of the three hulls. . just brilliant. .
do they have a rudder on each of the three hulls?
wow love it, is this what you call living on the edge lol.
I got a hobie tandem Island myself and love that.
insane! this is so cool! I dont know where I would rather be on the boat or on the board! more like wakeboarding actually :)
sweet video that boat is hauling ASS! whats generally faster of two boats the same length a Tri or a Cat?
whatever about their symantics. . the boat is their kite. . crazy amazing footage and brilliant idea. . nice going. .
Extraordinary video !!
@TheFrogination
Don't you need "wake" to "wakeboard"?
is this the same kind of trimaran that was used in Watreworld?
That trimaran looks awesome!
I'd like to learn how to navigate it...
It was more awesome seeing the trimaran get out of the water and the chopper flying sideways behind than anything else.
the two on the wakeboards are employees that did not perform as expected, the ride until one falls, competing to see which one keeps their job. hes a mate of mine and does this all the time
Is that a hyfrofoil under the main hull? Also put on some damn life jackets
what about the man who fell off?? wasnt that a man overboard situation... I hope he got picked up by the follow boat. and.... the Helicopter. Doesnt it affect the wind pattern around the trimaran?
it s called bilge boarding i think. originally used planks from the bilge of a boat and the bosons chair. this is mental with a trimaran, whoop whoop
nice video. next time you should use a drone to make the aerial filming. Less noise and better angles.
you need a good fitness level for that, where can i book such kind of wake tour?
Awesome!!!!
Not fussed about the wakeboarders...but that trimaran looks amazing!!
wakeboarding behind.... a sailboat
still blows my mind
LOL like it up on one hull. Definately a smoother ride on the trimaran than the boards! Mythbusters could have used a trimaran instead of a ship that day....much more exciting
where are those kites???
Carrement halucinant le trimaran sur un coque , le capitaine est crinqué! Très bon video!
Back then: trimaran, board, helicopter and cameraman. These days: foiling trimaran, foil boards, drone with a goPro, vests, impact vests, helmets, eye protection.
BEAUTIFUL..
thank you.
talk about some rich people... Dang i wish i could do that :), also i love your boat or what ever you call it! lol :)
very good indeed
What company manufacture that trimaran?
what type of trimaran is it
The velocity is!!!
Thats the biggest effing trimaran ive seen. Thats crazy. Holy crap how do they get that around...the effing sail is like 50 feet up there?!
Watching that trimaran was awsome. I want one, haha.
amazing....
That's a beautiful Hydrofoil at least, looks almost like it's flying.
Actually description says it. Kitesurfer wakeboarding...
Looks more like an ordeal for the skiers, but that triamaran came fairly near to capsizing, a major repair job if it did!!
very cool.
Nice boat , good idea.
awesome sailboat!!!!!!incredible
The kite is the big fabric thing on top of the boat!
that has a hyrdofoil dagger board as well!! lol so awsome
looks like fun to me, nice boat!!!
Perfect setup for one of those cheezy megalodon videos.
I prefer monocasc boats, but i must admit this trimaran is something. There is a vid with music about this.
Actually it's wakeboarding ;)
i love that boat!
that really goes into your arms when you ride at that high speed:P
They are probably highly experienced.
What about the boat is ill fitted?
It is not offshore if you can see the shore...
A lot of money that shows the world it is no oil leaking and still having fun.
Riding wind, waves, earth, without any other energies than renewable is respectable as it will help us getting free of oil lobbies
Helicopter was one time, world watch it for 3 years now.
Good global deal to me
getting the trimaran to surf might have been expensive... getting the helicopter was certainly priceless
i think it just looks fun dude!!
Where's the kite???
Awesome. Looks fun.
This is UNBELIEVABLE !!!! RAD
if you have a line that high, the pop you can generate is huge, USE IT!!!
Cheap on gas, but how much for the boat??
wow,nice video!
great idea .... well done !!!
wouldn't it be sailsurfing?
COOL
it's more like WAKEBOARDING, even though the wake is provided by a sailboat
To everyone posting about how they have done this from smaller craft.....ever done so while beating to windward? They are in this video, which is quite impressive.

Awesome boat.
wow now that is brilliant 5 star
Ive done this on Holiday with a boat about a third of the size- we called it bilge boarding :) Can't really call it Kitesurfing when there's no kite involved...
That looks like fun, will you take me?
That is sooooooooooooooo coooooooooooooooooool,YOU ALL R O C K!!!!!!!
