  • This clip summarizes my first experiences in designing and building vibration gloves for the treatment of my Parkinson symptoms. The glove principle is based on research work reported by the group of prof. Peter Tass at Stanford University. Here two links to interesting articles from this group:
    -suited for general audience: stanmed.stanfo...
    -research article with in-depth information: www.frontiersi...

    Vielen Dank, das sie ihre Ergebnisse mit uns teilen. Ich habe meine Diagnose seit 1,5 Jahren. Bin aber voller Hoffnung, das die Handschuhe mir auch helfen werden. Bis zur Zulassung werden laut Dr. Peter Tass noch mindestens 2 Jahre vergehen. Ich bin technisch und handwerklich völlig untauglich und hätte diese Handschuhe gerne jetzt schon. Ich suche jemanden der mir die Handschuhe anfertigt. Bin natürlich auch gerne bereit einen angemessenen Preis zu bezahlen. Bin für jede Hilfe unendlich dankbar.🙏🙏🙏

    I just finished a "glove', really just tips cut off gloves using Arduino and motor shields.
    We are very impressed with your work specifically the finger tip modules. Now we are settling in for the long haul, at least twice a day 24 x7. There is a fellow in California that did the whole official Sanford program and he and others had measurable results. Keep posting and good luck.

      Hello Robert, I am using the gloves since February 2022. The biggest impact for myself was a big improvement in sleep quality - for me personally therefore already worth all the tinkering/building efforts. It seems for me to also switch off tremors when using the gloves and/or shortly afterwards. Furthermore, I also experienced what others reported (e.g. see link for Stanford magazine article in description) that it improves the general well-being, energy level, smell/taste, motoric,... It works in my experiences best when maintaining a good work/life balance and doing some sort of fitness. Using them directly during stressful moments has little effect in my opinion. I typically use them before getting up in the morning/before going to bed, while reading, watching online, etc...

    • @PDvibrationglove-yr9fn
      @PDvibrationglove-yr9fn  Рік тому

      Arduino Nano - ~5-10 EUR & available online. Pulse interval: no specials sequence. Easiest - write up a list of all sequence combinations for 4 channels, randomize & loop them in the program = 'pseudo-random''; Arduino has a randomize command but you'll have to do a little more effort to achieve a real randomized sequence. People have published such a program online.

    The only problem you may have is that the vibration patterns are not mirrored on each hand/glove. I made some very similar to yours but we didn't see any improvement in PD symptoms. I'm pretty sure the timming was correct and looks like the same rate/speed as yours. I didn't play around with the timing and I used the smaller motors but they seemed strong enough. Good luck and hope they help. "Life with Parkinsons" channel made some and he said it was beneficial but later videos he seems less enthusiastic. We have just gone strict carnivore to get to the source of the PD problem.

    • @mark.pinnell
      @mark.pinnell Рік тому +1

      I had the arduino control both gloves with USB cables going from a belt box over the shoulders and down the arms so the signals were mirrored.

    • @mark.pinnell
      @mark.pinnell Рік тому +2

      I just hot glued the motors straight onto some velcro which works just fine. No need to 3d print. =)

    • @mark.pinnell
      @mark.pinnell Рік тому +1

      I had the motor wires come out the front and bend back up and under the velcro and along the top of the fingers loosely. No problems.

    • @pdobernigg
      @pdobernigg Рік тому +2

      In Life with Parkinson's latest video, near the end he says he adjusted the vibration pattern and is getting better benefits. About the carnivore diet, some of the 'food experts' I've listened to says protein can block dopamine receptors so meat should be a small part of a Parkinson's diet. Maybe they are wrong. I hope you find something that works for you.

    • @mark.pinnell
      @mark.pinnell Рік тому +1

      @@pdobernigg it doesn't sound like he mirrored the pattern just adjusted the timing so it still may be a problem.
      I've heard that too about protein but seen many doctors and professors talk about high uric acid correlation with lower parkinsons risk as it reduces the oxidation of dopamine.
      Anyway the carnivore and LION diet are elimination diets which have heal some severe auto immune diseases like Mikala Peterson and 50 years of a bad modern processed food is probably the cause of many of these problems and time is short so its worth a try and we are feeling great like most other people who try it.

    Very nice work ! Well done.
    I have a few questions if you have a minute. The first is how are you using a 9 volt battery without damaging the Arduino Nano? I thought the maximum supply voltage for the Nano was 5 volts. I have built one set using the larger 5 volt cell phone "charger" battery packs but I would like to get down to the much smaller 9 Volts like you are using.
    About how many 1 hour treatments do you get from each recharging of the batteries?
    Have you been able to post the plan for the vibration modules yet? I'm using a similar device that I am hand making from scrap Lexan I had laying around my shop, but your device is first class. I would appreciate being able to use your plan very much.
