Love from Ontario, Canada! We watched this informative video on our TV's youtube feature. We will be in London in September this year and will be hiking exactly here (Eastbourne to Seaford). We hope to be in the Lake District and then exploring South Downs.
I'm very lucky to live in Seaford, the two notable hiking directions being the Seven sisters out towards Eastbourne or Firle Beacon where being the tallest hill in the area it doesn't rain, it's always hailstones as I found out. twice. would love to see you take the Firle route as it's one of the most amazing views in the South East!
Hi Will, thanks so much for the recommendation, I’d never heard of that walk but it looks amazing! I’ll definitely give it a go when the restrictions have relaxed a bit.
Hey Will, just wanted to let you know I visited Firle Beacon this weekend following your recommendation. Was an amazing view, thanks for the tip buddy! 👍
Hi, I am a total newbie when it comes to serious hiking or the area. I am reasonably fit. So enthusiastic but not completely confident. Had my first visit and accommodation booked in Eastbourne. Wonder is there any good route to do it half way from Eastbourne then turn back or any other suggestion on how to do this? As I am thinking I wouldn't be able to make it back both ways in one day. Or should I do it on bike?
@@gyyin3876 If you wanted to do part of this walk then turn back, then it would be a great idea to go as far as Birling gap, then follow the road inland to East Dean and back round to Eastbourne. If you wanted to go a bit further though, there are buses between Seaford and Lewes every 20 minutes, there's a bus stop in east Dean and then the next one is at the entrance to Friston Forest, so you could walk that far, walk through the forest or the Seven Sisters then hop on a bus back to Eastbourne. Hope that helps!
Thanks for sharing this and the previous 7 sisters video. On an ideal day which of the walks you recommend (Seaford to Eastbourne/Eastbourne to Seaford) for views and experience?
Thanks for watching Aigerim! Both directions are great - but I would recommend Eastbourne to Seaford in the summer as you get to see Beachy Head in the morning and watch sun set on the beach in Seaford. Have a great time!
6:00 yes -absolutely stupid. I saw also some crazy tourist in Ireland - Cliffs of Moher - behind the wall and took some pictures. We called the people's #justforthepicture. And there are warning signs, don't do this because some peoples died - because of the wind or cliff exits. The lighthouse is an Air bnb? 😱 Where is the link to this beautiful place? 😁 in the morning you have the place maybe just for you. 🙂 I miss the travel time. Because of Corona some trips were cancelled or not possible. 🙁 As example my Birthday trip to Rome in March - the flight was cancelled 12h before. Or the easter weekend with my Familie - not possible. I'm now since 2 month in Homeoffice and hope that after this we have more an eye on us and of course on our Mother Nature. 💚 Did you use the Lens 25mm for this? I have a new Canon M50 and the 55mm is not so good to make a selfie video because my face is really big in the camera/video. 😅
That's a shame about your trips being cancelled! I was planning to go back to Scotland for a 10-day hike and a trip to Prague which both got cancelled. Yes, I used a lens that is the equivalent of 25mm - which is good for recording yourself! 55mm would be too close!
I preferred Seaford to Eastbourne, as you get to look out towards the Seven Sisters as you approach them. In the other direction, you have to look back after you’ve crossed them. But both directions are great. Hope the weather is good for you next week, have a great time!
Enjoyed the video. But as someone who is a local to that area, from what I know the River is pronounced cookmere not cuckmere like the spelling, could be wrong but never heard anyone call it cuckmere before 😊
How ...wonderful and invigorating...and healthy...walking...fantastic!!
NICE YOUNG COUPLE...
One of the Best Walks in the UK... It is tough though, be prepared.
Welcome, welcome, welcome.

This was very cool :) I’m planning on doing the same trip out of London on Monday! You gave me some good spot ideas for photos along the way!
Thanks Rolando! Enjoy the walk 😊

After doing both, which direction do you think had a best overall views? I'm planning to go next week, hoping the weather isn't too bad by then

It is very possible I am pronouncing it wrong! Thanks for letting me know! 😂
Nice video James but I’m afraid you’re still mispronouncing belle tout, it’s pronounced ‘toot’😊
And ‘cuckmere’, rather than ‘cookmere’ 👍🏼
