"second chance" was another way of saying summer repeat as this was repeat season for the BBC
I think they should've just gone with the It's A Knockout theme for the Commonwealth Games promo. It had that vibe.
I would believe that the BBC 1 NI continuity announcer would have been David Gamble but it is only a guess.
Yes, it is David Gamble
Interesting promo for the Commonwealth Games. The music didn't really suggest Edmonton in Canada, and of all the clips to promote an international sporting event, they pick out one of a man falling over a hurdle!!!
So funny. I read your comment before watching, and wondered: how off could the music really be? Then I watched it 😮
Also, nobody says “sport” like… Simon Bates?!
At a guess the steel pan music was there because of an assumption people mostly associated the Commonwealth with the West Indies?
@@DBIVUK That's possible. Or maybe they just couldn't think of anything specifically Canadian!
@@RobinMorley Just be thankful it wasn't (gulp) 'Our Tune'!!!
Name of announcer?
David Gamble
@@marcomontanari2575 How did you know?
@@leahrowden3939 it’s easy.
