Thank you, Marie. This type of information should be part of every educational curriculum. If children were taught how to deal with their emotions & mind in school, I feel it would lessen a vast array of social & societal issues-including violence.
EtherealLove I was thinking the exact same thing ! And obviously, so far 37 other people who read your comment agree ! I'm 51 and I felt the same way most of my life/ but at Ajah's age most definitely. I can only hope that someone who sees this & has the "power" to do something about it in the schools-can implement it. Ajah- there's a Billy Joel song that makes me think of you, it's called "Just the way you are"...look it up and sing it and add it to your new W-NoCrap station ! Blessings from Ohio/USA
Aja...I'm not 15, I'm 55. And that radio station plays in my head too.Thank you for being a leader and asking the question MANY peopleneed to hear the answer to. Great Answer, Marie. Always needing to turn down the radio. Thanks for the pep talk!!
Important precision: you can’t really turn down that radio. If you just try to fight it, it can feel even more obnoxious! So: 1. Recognize the thoughts are like a BS radio (useless thoughts), 2. Let them be in a peaceful way, like seeing clouds pass by in the sky, and 3. Put your focus on a) the present reality and b) a radio program of your choice (choosing the thoughts and beliefs you want to have). That’s more or less what real meditation is BTW, letting go of your thoughts and focusing on what’s real (and only using useful thoughts by choice, consciously).
asjah, you got it. don't worry. You will become something great, greater than you are now. You're young. The fact that you're watching Marie and asking quality questions says you're already way ahead of your group.
This is by far the BEST video Marie Forleo has ever done IMO. I'm over 50 and I still get KRAP radio playing in my head. The best part of being older is that most of the time, I know what that voice is and I can switch the channel or tell it to go F*** itself. I had tears watching this. Ajah, I hope you feel proud of your beautiful message and the wonderful video it inspired. You are courageous, strong, and fierce.
“That mean voice in your head is not you and not true.” Definitely a good video to watch during our down moments. Your inner critic is not you and doesn't know you
Hi Ajah, you must be 17 now. Let me tell you, as a 19 year old studying the course that I am life is really knocking me out of my feet right now. Overthinking has been one of my worst habits ever, which meditation has started to help with. So my biggest pieces of advice would be to meditate and keep taking action everyday. And stay present during it. Take breaks and be aware of your needs. May your future be bright and full of promise. :)
Marie, you're amazing & I appreciate this free channel oh so very much. AJAH, Marie is right. We can sense the kindness of your soul and I too have that negative radio cranked up. Meditation is the key, I've only just begun.. but at 21 years of age I can say I'm finally gaining self confidence and loving evrry flaw and characteristic that makes me- ME. My parents left me at 17, I haven't felt wanted since then. I feel like a bother, & a guest in others homes as I save and go to school. So I understand that feeling of not being needed or wanted around. But love yourself Ajah. I was made fun of all throughout elementary and middle school. Things got better when I found a crowd I fit into and made genuine friends that didn't judge me. I'm not as good with advice as Marie here, but I want to let you know you're not alone and tons of us can relate. Things get better. It's all in the mindset. Mindset is everything. With love, Sarah
Working out changed life. My daily crap radio gets turned off after a good workout and I have tons of tips to help anyone who needs motivation. Asiah, you are not alone. Life gets better. Is time in your life will one day be a blur. Your future is bright ☀️
I am 42 years old, and I feel Useless, worthless.... like I'm a burden... etc.... almost all the time. And I've felt that way pretty much my whole life. Thank you Ajah, for this question. and Thank you Marie, for this Answer. This is a very important one. I really needed this.
Phoebe not worthless, you are priceless. I think you are a very caring person, humble but like Marie said the world needs that specia gift that only YOU have. Go Phoebe! Love Jess
I just cried during the Video, because my heart was so moved and at the same time I felt calmness arise inside me, pushing the lonliness away... thank you ❤️
Oh just crying my face off over here, right when they started singing the song to her and the encouraging words appeared on the screen 😭😭😭😭 I can't take it. Marie is a GIFT. Love this so much.
Wow this is awesome Marie. I watch your episodes on the daily and never comment but this episode really touched my heart. Thank you for caring for that 15 year old girl. I'm now 39 years old and looking back I felt the same exact things as Ajah. I appreciate the feedback you gave her and for crafting that awesome song to fit her! It was brilliant. Thank you for sharing with us, your audience, that gift only YOU have! Ajah- thank you for being brave. I now want to write my 15 year old self to tell her that she is amazing and God is still working on her. Much love to you!
what I love about this is that it's not just something you go through as a kid. I'm in my mid twenties and I feel like this sometimes. I tune into w-krap radio all too often. this is great advice to keep you going even as you grow. i love it!
This was one of the most heart felt questions that have been asked since I started watching Marie TV I hope that your answer helped this amazing girl and I love her for asking that all important question that we all feel at some point and we had no one to ask for help she is one lucky girl
Hi Ajah , how are you? hope you and everyone around you is fine . So , I watched this vedio and the one thing I want to say is " POSITIVITY " that is a key word . Staying positive is so very important. You know who you are no one needs to judge you. I know its all difficult. I've been there and it felt horrendous but one positive thought changes the whole situation. I'm a very happy and positive person by nature (I thank god for that ) but I have faced these comments and have had these feelings. Stay focused stay determined that's all you need. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. Write down things you like about yourself and see them when you need some boost in life or when your feeling low. These thoughts are for everyone who reads this and not only Ajah. Thanks for reading this have a wonderful day .
This is the best gift I’ve seen given to a a teenager - real and wise advice and an unforgettable boost to their self esteem. Thank you for doing that for her and setting up a standard for us and the teenagers in our lives.
got tears in my eyes! Ajah you are not alone darling! I`m 36 and once in a while got those days in my life when I feel exactly the same ... last few days feeling really crappy ... everything goes wrong and I feel so down :( hardly ever talk about it in public ... thank you for the courage! You are amazing :)
I feel like that sometimes but I've done a heavy amount of research on positivity and optimistic mind sets and it helps me ignore those crabby voices. Specially for school essays, I always get a voice telling me that it to hard that I'm not going to do a good job at it and i shut it down right away by repeating positive phrase like " I'm going to do great and have fun at it" and most importantly I tell myself that I love me and that everything will be just fine.
This video was one of my favourites, I enjoyed the contents so much that I will view it again and again periodically! Thank you Marie Forleo you are truly amazing! Love from Trinidad!
Dear Aja it gets sooo much better. I used to feel exactly the way you do (and once a month I still do ha). But eventually you'll find your life's mission, you will love yourself more than anything and you'll realize life is meant to be fun. So as Abraham Hicks would say: BE EASY ABOUT IT!
I certainly do feel that way, in fact even today I've been finding myself in this funk in the last few hours. Five great things about myself which I can think in order to turn off my c*** radio are; 1. I'm authentically honest. 2. I can pick up and change energy easily. 3. I actively seek out ways to help myself and others. 4. I am openly vulnerable about my flaws. 5. I am extremely resilient when it comes to tackling challenges!! Thank you for this great video too Marie, it's brilliant as always. 😃
Ajah, you are already wise beyond your years, I wish I had the courage to share my thoughts at that age, and in doing so you have helped others, just look at the AMAZING positive responses, thanks to Marie and staff as well! :)
Hi Aja, THANK YOU for brining your true self to Marie…and Marie, thank you for your perfect response. I'm not 15 anymore, however, I remember that girl and wish I had someone to share their wisdom like Marie did for you (and all of us). Meditate and be sure to just breathe. You'll begin to hear WISDOM Radio before you know it.
Today heard Ben Rector songs for the first time, went down the rabbit hole and found this, another youtuber who is my age group(65) . I needed the boost to deal with continuing to live with Myasthenia Gravis that took so long to be diagnosed I got so freaking weak what I used to do in an hour took all day through tears of hopelessness. If anyone else is going through Hell, keep walking, crawling, screaming. I am right next to you.
I feel just like AJA. How I deal with crap radio is I once read a tweet that said "Dance in front of the mirror." So yesterday, I tried it and it worked for me. Thanks Marie! 😊
Ahahahaha I started tearing when you guys sang the "Ajah" song. It was so kind of you to do that Marie. I just started watching you and I adore you. I'm currently 17, and these videos help me keep a lot of things in perspective. I appreciate the videos. Rock on!!
Wow! Just felt this way yesterday. When I start to hear those negative voices ("I'll never amount to anything" "I suck") I give myself a deadline. "I will only feel sorry for myself for the next five minutes and after that I have to re-direct my thoughts to something better." Music helps. So does watching an inspirational video or writing out my feelings. I may start with writing things I am grateful for or what I love about myself.
Hi Marie, I just want to say that I LOVE your channel. I don't watch it everyday, but whenever I feel like I'm in a rut I just browse here and find something relevant. Your work is uplifting, encouraging, and brings a very much needed calm in a stormy mind. Wish you luck and success always!
This is the best Q & A I've heard on Marie TV Aja, well done girl! All through life I've had similar thoughts you voiced in your question to Marie. I'm 60 years old now (I know, sounds ancient doesn't it!) and I have a teenage son of my own. I clearly remember feeling lost, alone, dumb, ugly, unwanted. My husband recently worked for a client that turned out to be a P.E. teacher at my high school. She was this bombshell blond with an attitude and I just KNEW she despised me because I wasn't athletic, pretty or popular. That was 40+ years ago Aja and she REMEMBERS ME! She knew I had two sisters and other things about me. I was shocked! She even wants to meet and talk to me. AHHHHHGGGG!!! I wish the 16 year-old me knew this would happen, knew that people saw ME not through me. I've had dozens of these experiences in the past few years. So don't believe you're alone, invisible, ugly, etc. it's W-KRAP playing in your head! Think about how you want people to remember you and BE THAT PERSON! It sounds as if you are already doing that. Keep it up. High school is a tiny, tiny blip in life. When it's over life is TOTALLY different. YOU make your OWN choices. And I can tell you from experience, the most popular girls/guys are usually only popular in high school. Everything changes when they don't have the clicky, safe environment of school. Many of the popular girls at my high school are now my friends : ) They remember me as being "funny and sweet". They don't remember me as the "loser" I thought I was. You don't need ANYONE to validate you. I didn't wait for people to tell me I was a valuable contribution to life, I lived as if I was and life came in to greet me. Even when you don't feel it Aja, live it. WARNING: People can be threatened by someone who displays self-assurance and a shift in attitude but it IS infectious. It takes summoning up a boat load of courage some days. When you're feeling good write yourself a letter and tell YOU all of the things you love about yourself. Mail it to yourself, keep it, read it when W-KRAP starts to play. Keep us posted, I have this feeling the world is going to hear a lot more from Miss Aja . . . xxoo W-KRAP . . . brilliant and made me laugh. I will be using this ; )
I'm a creative..... and I place my creativity in front of everyone to to dismantle, criticize and polk fun at. I find however, in this very vulnerable place... my best courage and inner strength both come to surface shutting down my inner critic. I truly believe is starts with the courage to execute and the relentless pursuit of proving my existence, to myself.
Thank you so much Ajah for asking this question. You're not alone stuck with W-Krap radio in you're mind. i'm 51 and it's been a year that i'm letting w-krap radio play to much. Thanks Marie for this idea of W-Krap radio, cause it's really like this, the channel changes itself back to it. And thanks for the creative way and the most kindness to Ajah. I was deeply touch, got teary-eyed too.
This was PERFECT and I LOVE the idea of recogizing that we are NOT our mind and that (1) we all have that negative voice in our heads that tells us we suck. I often feel like I'm not normal for being so pessimistic at times but that point reminds me that I'm not alone in struggling with those negative thoughts. (2) I love recognizing that the negative voices/thoughts are someone else. Not us. It makes it a lot easier to then regain the control back and "Change the station". I'm definitely going to give this a try! Thank you Marie! As always, you're SO helpful!
You hit it out of the park, Marie! Focusing on the girl's strengths right off the bat is right on the mark. I even want to be that 15 year old - she rocks. (And is a fellow Montrealer - represent!) Well done, K
Hi Marie, Just had to write to thank you and Ajah for the loveliest moment of my day thus far. Your response to our young sister is proof not only of your wisdom and creativity, but of your kindness as well. It brought me to tears. I wish every young person going through a tricky time could receive such loving, specific, and useful guidance Miss Ajah, I'd like to add "Wise" to Marie's list of great traits of yours because, seriously, how smart are you to be reaching out to Miss Marie for counsel? How smart? Waaay smart! Keep your head up. You know what you're doing. Thanks again for making my day better than it had been. Affectionately, Madeline
I stumble onto Maria TV because I was feeling like crap and I'm a grown woman I was listen to some of your other UA-cam interviews and trying to get myself out of this rut that I feel I was diagnosed with Lupus but I'm not using that for an excuse but it is havimg me very fatigued and hard to focus making me feel REALLY I NEED THIS. But how awesome for this young lady. Like you said to be brave and to write in about how she feels and I agree with everything you said about her and I wish her the best GO AJAH!!!
This is applicable to most everyone, I think. I know I struggle with the voices telling me stupid things. Since I now work for myself and from home, it is a constant battle, but embracing my passion helps me to get out of my head, well the KRAPy part at least, LOL, and remember to make a difference with what I have to offer. Thank you for being you and doing what you do. You have shamed me more than once into pushing forward and not hiding my voice.
Thanks, Marie! I came across this video due to reading your “Everything Is Figureoutable” book. This is what I dealt with as a teenager. I dealt with it then on a spiritual level (what you refer to as “meditation”). I read Bible promises and learned who I was in Christ: a daughter of the Most High. In my twenties, I started to get into the community and help others. It allowed me to quite the inside voice and started to tune in with others that were in need.
Marie and Crew! This might be one of the most important videos you could have ever done! Not listening to KRAP Radio is a very important truth to keep in mind. And thanks for the shout-out for meditation! I feel so grateful that we're all here and healing ourselves and just growing so wonderfully. You really reminded me that we're all in this together.
I cried and laughed at this video. Thank you, Ajah, for being so brave and smart. You are beautiful just the way you are. You become what you think, so think only positive things about yourself and focus on those things you really like about you. You are important, and you can always choose to feel great about yourself, because you're awesome, even Marie Forleo thinks so (and you can totally believe her :) )
Who TF gave this a thumbs down?!?! People who work for W-KRAP radio ?!?! Anyhooo, as a grown, adult woman, I officially 💗 you for this video Marie! 💗 both the kindness and humor!!!
This is a constant battle all my life and I am in my 60's! Ajah you are now famous! Keep going girl. Listen to good upbeat music not the downer stuff. Also sometimes a nap helps too. Thanks a ton Marie and to your staff too!
Hello ajah. My name is Quin and I'm a late 39 yrs old woman with the same problem. I listen to crap radio for years to the point it controlled my life. It stopped me completely. It stopped so much of life that I lived in the past even thou I lived in the present. I didn't finish college or start a career. I listen start to listen this channel (the young woman not crap radio) for the same reasons as you. She has good advice. I'm an adult who feels useless and I doesn't understand why I was put on this earth. So when I say I get it, I mean it. So congratulations for doing something about it in your teens. I admit I wish this technology (UA-cam and online therapy) was around when I was a teen. It would have save me from years of pain. So keep looking for help. It doesn't get better if you don't open your mouth and say I need help. As for some comfort and peace for the moments when you feel overwhelmed, I go to UA-cam about every emotional issue I have and try it out. I listen to gospel music. I listen to sermons about God and Christianity. I listen to Catholic services and fathers bcs I went to Catholic school as a kid and I had a lot questions I was afraid to ask that now you can go to the tube for answers. I know folks would thinks it weird to consult UA-cam about everything on my mind but it has been good for me bcs I find I'm not the only with that same questions and I can hear others ideas and thoughts on the subject. It has been helpful. I hope my answer or opinion about your question helps. Take care. Quin
Thank you :) Now I'm confident again and to ajah ..don't forget to pray cause God really loves you ..No matter what may happen in you're journey , remember that God is with you ..:)
That is pretty awesome. Nominating Marie for a Nobel Prize for making Ajah feel pretty AMAZING with that radio station dance party. Great question Ajah! Lots of people feel like you do and your question and the answers in this video are going to help lots of people because you asked!
You really moved me with your message to Ajah....everyone needs their own dance video! you truly have a gift. I overheard my 13 year old talking to her friends the other night and she was so down on herself... I tried lifting her up of course but I believe this skillfully made video will really resonate with her. Thank you :)
I totally felt the same at her age. This episode is so amazing! I'm going to show this to my kids when their about that age. Got totally teary eyed when you guys sang the Ajah song... So, so amazing of you that you encouraged this amazing girl!!!
Hard to change the station but a lot of useful ideas to try!!! I am 70 and living daily with a husband who has stage IV lung cancer with brain mets .. tmo many changes to live with daily. I honestly pray for any kind of help and yet am still sad, sick, tired and scared and as another mark against me, I am angry. I try to never show it but not always successful. My life if a mess, no real friends and no family, so I am literally and figuratively alone.
KRAP radio is always playing in my head. I have taken it for what it is ... just negativity and I can put it behind me but sometimes the radio is in the foreground which makes life harder. Love your videos Marie x

This inspires me to offer such a lesson in my daughter’s democratic school... 😀

@Elliot Scott :) I agree
i teared up hearing Ajah's song. I hope she has nothing but joy for the rest of her life.
Ajah has massive influence. She influenced Maria Forleo - That's, THEE Maria Forleo to write a song about her. AWESOME.
Yes, I burst into tears
This is by far the BEST video Marie Forleo has ever done IMO. I'm over 50 and I still get KRAP radio playing in my head. So did I.

Christelle Villaester Me too!!
Christelle Villaester … so did i (*teary*)Thanks so much, Marie! Another SUPER GREAT post. :)Ajah - all the best to you… more Love and Blessings! :)
Christelle Villaester So true. What a special video. Thanks Ajah for your question!
“That mean voice in your head is not you and not true.” Definitely a good video to watch during our down moments. Your inner critic is not you and doesn't know you
This is going to be life-changing for her. Awesome how you not just answered her question but affirmed her throughout. Very touching and powerful.
Marie, you are a truly beautiful woman. Your love for others is powerful and inspiring. Thank you for blessing us all. ❤️

Asking, asking asking is the key! For help, for work, to offer help to others. Also, asking and listening is the best way to make new friends.

I just cried during the Video, because my heart was so moved and at the same time I felt calmness arise inside me, pushing the lonliness away... thank you ❤️
I hope you all stay strong bc you truly are. You all deserve to be happy :)
When you listed Asian's 5 qualities, just made me cry. Thank you for inspiration, Mari!!!
Oh just crying my face off over here, right when they started singing the song to her and the encouraging words appeared on the screen 😭😭😭😭 I can't take it. Marie is a GIFT. Love this so much.
Thank you, Marie. 95% of voice in our head is useless. Do not give so much power to those voice, recognize them and get moving.
What a beautiful, kind, loving, action-focused A to Ajah's Q - thank you!
So beautiful. I wish someone had told me that when I was younger as well. This response healed something inside me. Thank you Marie.

Love how she is talking about spiritual truth and ancient knowledge in a modern and fun/relatable way.
This is a beautiful response to Ajah's Q. :)
That's exactly how I'm feeling too Ajah and I'm 30! Thank you for asking your question, I needed to hear the answer as well ((hugs)) 💕
Marie you are awesome, such a beautiful and great response to a young girl. Ajah you rock girl Marie is right and has great advice!
This was a really beautiful video you did for her...
This is the best gift I’ve seen given to a a teenager - real and wise advice and an unforgettable boost to their self esteem. Thank you for doing that for her and setting up a standard for us and the teenagers in our lives.
I am still working on this but I just take a deep breath and I watch MarieTV. It gives me perspective and a mood boost.
got tears in my eyes! Ajah you are not alone darling! Marie you are so amazing and compassionate!! You have absolutely inspired Ajah and all of us in only 7:42min!!
LOVE how you helped that girl, and what you did for her.
What a great response!! How could Ajah come away from this not feeling confident, powerful, and, more importantly, not alone.
This video was one of my favourites, I enjoyed the contents so much that I will view it again and again periodically! Thank you Marie Forleo you are truly amazing! Love from Trinidad!
Ajah must be so happy now :)
Thank you, Ajah and Marie for helping lots of people!!
Oh my, what a generous response.... Beautiful. Ajah I wish you a healthy happy life😊
Dear Aja it gets sooo much better.
Five great things about myself which I can think in order to turn off my c*** radio are;
Ajah, you are enough just for being who you are. Nothing you have to do to be worthy. Sending you lots of love!!
I am a mature woman I needed to hear that today, coz I got fired today.
I feel for you in getting fired. I got laid off about 2 weeks ago. It's a shot to one's confidence and ego. Hang in there.
There's a silver lining and a blessing in.there
Ahahahaha I started tearing when you guys sang the "Ajah" song. It was so kind of you to do that Marie. I just started watching you and I adore you. I'm currently 17, and these videos help me keep a lot of things in perspective. I appreciate the videos. Rock on!!
Omg!!! This was soooo awesome! I love how you guys made up a song just for Ajah!
Ajah, hang in there, girlie!
Keep us posted, I have this feeling the world is going to hear a lot more from Miss Aja . . . xxoo
W-KRAP . . . brilliant and made me laugh. I will be using this ; )
Darris B. Nelson that is a great writing.. wow'
ty.
(And is a fellow Montrealer - represent!) Well done, K
i also got teary-eyed, this was awesome marie!!!! you do such an amazing job & such an inspiration. thank you so much! and thanks to Ajah!
Hi Marie,
Just had to write to thank you and Ajah for the loveliest moment of my day thus far. Your response to our young sister is proof not only of your wisdom and creativity, but of your kindness as well. It brought me to tears. I wish every young person going through a tricky time could receive such loving, specific, and useful guidance
Miss Ajah, I'd like to add "Wise" to Marie's list of great traits of yours because, seriously, how smart are you to be reaching out to Miss Marie for counsel? How smart? Waaay smart! Keep your head up. You know what you're doing. Thanks again for making my day better than it had been.
Affectionately,
Madeline
Ajah, I think you're amazing. AND you're also responsible for my favorite episode of Marie TV of all time. :)
The guy yelling "AJAH!!!!!"... he did it for me. Lmao!!! Had me in absolute stitches.
It allowed me to quite the inside voice and started to tune in with others that were in need.
this video really inspired me! thank u Marie!
This is why being connected to you is so valuable. I love this!
thank you so much marie for the encouragement!! it really help me a lot..
Marie Tv's episode titles are the story of my life
Marie and Crew!
You are important, and you can always choose to feel great about yourself, because you're awesome, even Marie Forleo thinks so (and you can totally believe her :) )
Gooooooo Asjah. You got your own personal song to sing to.....now if that isn't something to smile about aye 😊
Ajah*
Who TF gave this a thumbs down?!?! People who work for W-KRAP radio ?!?! Anyhooo, as a grown, adult woman, I officially 💗 you for this video Marie! 💗 both the kindness and humor!!!
This brought tears to my eyes. Marie you're simply amazing.
Aja, you are brave. And you are strong. Your best is yet to come.
Man, I remember what it was like to be 15. If I were Ajah right now, I'd be like "OMG!!!" and almost teary eyed.
Listening to Music is the best way to kill the depression. Also, comic movies help a lot. That's how I kill it!
Take care. Quin
This was perfect! Who would thumbs down this?
It will get better, Aja. Hang in there! You are such an inspiration.
I hope you're going great now Aja!! and Marie - you are an ANGEL!
THANK YOU SO MUCH
AAAAAAAJAHHHHHHH! AAAAAAAAJAHHHHHH! I love it! I agree with Marie! Ajah YOU ROCK!!! And you're already making a world of a difference! God Bless ;)
Love Ajah's music video - made me laugh. I needed this one today. Thanks Marie. xx
Damn it! What a video! I wish I watched this when I was 15. I had a rough teenager time too 🙈 love your channel Marie! 😘
Thank you for this I battle with this, I'm doing better at turning the station
Beautiful speech Marie...you are a natural therapist...even the tone of your voice brings me confindence.congrats.love from Portugal
this is the most beautifully heartfelt response to such a heartfelt question. I'm so happy about this.
Wow , I was really moved by Ajah's question.....and also about the way Marie tuned in on this question.
Thank you for this!
I
Awwwe...so sweet Maria. And Ajah, thanks for having the bravery to ask such a great question and help so many others out!
