Thank you for a great video! I wonder if you need to wax or lubricate the deck on this Precor treadmill?

No, these belts do not require wax. But if you would like for it to last longer I recommend to cake a rag across the belt, step on the edges and then turn the tmill on at 1mph so it can clean between the deck and belt. Male sure you do not spray any chemicals on the rag as it can remove the wax that the deck has.

@@posted_2k185 what brand replacement belts are you using?. I see 2 options on. Most sites one says belt other says prewaxed which one

I bought a used Precor treadmill a few years back. How do I know when it is time to change the belt? I recently started experiencing a lag in the belt when running at speeds of 4.5 and higher. Does this mean its time to change the belt or is just and adjustment that is needed to tighten the belt? Thx

If you are talking about the running belt, you need to perform a stomp test to make sure your belt is not loose. If it slips while you stomp it, you need to tighten the belt. If you are experiencing lag issues, grab a towel that is longer than the width of the belt and spray some Awesome on it. Slide the damp towel in between the belt and the deck, then turn the treadmill on and hold on the edges of the towel as the belt rotation will clean itself. After you clean under the belt, slide the towel all the way up and work your way down ( make sure the towel does not get near the roller or it will pull it down with force and may damage mechanical parts) ... one way to determine if you running belt needs replacement is by checking if your belt is not wavy at the center. If it is, it's time to replace! Hope this helps.

Thank you for the video. When you took the belt off and said “make sure you flip the deck” did you keep it flipped over when you put the new belt on?
If you did not, can you use the other side of the deck? I think our deck is worn down. When stepping on the running belt it makes a “screeching” type noise… seems like the textured ridges on the belt and rubbing on a particular area of the deck.
Thank you for any feedback you can provide.

Anytime you replace a belt, you have to either flip the deck or replace it

All decks come with wax on both sides so usually when there is still a good side all you do is flip it to the fresh wax side. If you do not flip the deck and install new belt, it will not last long before it tears it apart

@@posted_2k185 Thank you for the information and quick reply. I appreciate it. I’ll be flipping our deck tomorrow. 👍🏽

Thank you again for the information. I took the deck out and unfortunately found that the deck has already been flipped. (It is used. Got it when the local university updated their workout facility). Do you have a place you would recommend for purchasing a new deck? It’s a precor 811/835/885
