My wife died in 2014..Her best instrumentalist was Karen Briggs. She loved her sway with the violin. She will always remind of Vicki as Karen plays in the Red Dress.
I love and miss Armen Anassian. He is alive, as far as I know, but I haven't seen him in years. He is a wonderful player and a beautiful spirit...and handsome, I might add. God is good! Thank you to all of you who support live music!
Karen, when you played in India, I was a teenager. It's been 20 years and more! I still get goosebumps listening to your solo in Tribute. I will continue to get goosebumps till I breathe my last. In true Indian tradition, I touch your feet. Please accept my reverances for you. And I thank God that I have been able to write my Thank You note to you!
I have to say Karen, still, when I watch this, or any of your playing, it gives me chills. You are one with that instrument and I can honestly say that I have never felt that way about another Violinist. You are amazing, your talent is pure, and your charisma is simply unforgettable. Love ya.

Being a huge metal head id love to hear them both play with distortion. Some metal bands make very good use of keyboards now. why not violins. I know of one band where the singer uses a flute, works well.

Mr. Anassian may feel the same way about the music but he does not EXPRESS IT when he plays the way Karen does. That's all. Nothing to do with him putting down Mr. Anassian or his talent.
Armen was my favorite. Karen loses music in movement. And just plays funky sounds. Armen has a quiet dignity. He has the Arminian spirit. I love him. I love his solo in Yanni desire. He is the one who inspired me to play violin;)

Because he is classically trained and plays efficiently. Briggs is a funk violinist and doesnt follow convention. She has learned to play with her body, where as Armen plays with just his hands, mechanically speaking.
You know, a few years ago I would have argued to the end of time with you. BUT, although the young lady that took over the violin when Karen left (she could NEVER replace her!) is very talented, she just does not have the passion that Karen had. While I still greatly enjoy Yanni's concerts, I very much miss the life that Karen brought into his shows.
