Sleeping in VR is an experience. Where else am I gonna get to sleep under a starlit sky with a full moon outside a lighthouse on an island in the middle of the ocean in a cuddle puddle of people just talking in the background? This is literally what I did the other night. It's just such a...calming and comforting sleep you can't get under normal circumstances.
randomly found this video but funny, i used to play vrchat a lot by myself and just hangout in a public world. i dont remember the first time falling in vr for me but i do know it felt kind of surreal. i did it more often in private worlds by myself and just fell asleep so easily, did it so often that i couldn't fall asleep in the real life. i dont sleep in vr anymore but i do play sometimes with my girlfriend, we would play and get tired and eventually fall asleep. i fell asleep one time the past couple of months and realized how much i missed it. i most likely wont do it again but i do miss the feeling of waking up a whole different world, its honestly wonderful.
I have really bad chronic pain and sometimes I'm required to sleep in my chair. It's a somewhat big comfy chair but with all the light in the room the location isn't very great for sleep atmosphere. While I don't play VR I did use it as a sleep aid for a long while when I was in this situation. I don't have a VR headset, but the light from the monitor and my headphones made for a nice enough ambience for sleep especially in a private room tailored to my sleep experience. I've always wondered if I'd get even better sleep in actual VR (since I'm not laying down). But with as much as it helped me sleep in that situation I can imagine how many people would find it comforting to sleep in VR.
Ive slept in VrChat once or *Twice* And ive found it to be quite the experience and quite uncomfortable but it is what it is. Another banger video, liked the inclusion of your consciousness, But I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE THE REAL MAXWELL
I remember sleeping in vrchat a few times but the first time I woke up with my headset off my face somehow. The second time I was with a buddy and we were just chillin until we eventually fell asleep. Third time which is my favorite map for sleep now is The Airship and that was the best sleep I ever had because it has a rain ambience.
Sleeping in vrchat used to be some of the best sleep i've ever had despite waking up a couple times and getting scared awake by my index's low controller battery warning. I would sleep in vrc more often than not, sometimes drunk, sometimes alone or with a friend, even back in my old Quest 1 days. It was still some of the best sleep i've ever had. especially when i fell asleep in my crush's lap which is when i knew i loved them. now i dont sleep in vrc because we live together and our relationship is nothing but strong.
I always find it easier to sleep in a place that isn't where I usually sleep. I've recently figured out you can sleep in vr and it actually made it much easier for me to go to sleep, especially since I can also sleep with my partner.
I've only ever slept if VRChat a couple of times. Of the times I have done it, I've woken up to sometimes one or two other people sleeping as well cuddled up next to me. It sounds strange, but it is oddly warming and comforting to see other people somewhere out there in the world take the opportunity to sleep beside me rather than try and intentionally wake me up. I usually just fall back asleep only to wake up to them gone.
I feel you, once I got out of BMT, I could sleep anywhere! But sadly, I can sleep anywhere... May or may not have almost got caught by instructors in the schoolhouse...
i usually sleep on my side in VR even with the index. To be honest the only thing that keeps me from sleeping properly is the fact my 3090 ti is basically a radiator for my room, so I get overheated super easily which wakes me up. When I don't overheat though I do (not coping rn) get pretty good sleep, though I basically always sleep with someone in VR, never really do it alone.
I sleep and nap with the index all the time - two tips: make sure the cable is wrapped around you to avoid accidentally bending the cable 180°, and to compensate for the headphones use two pillows or any setup that provides some kind of groove to not squash the headphone against your ear. Blue light literally doesn't matter - and after a few times you won't mind keeping the headset on anymore after waking up either.
I think a lot of the discomforts that you guys mention in this vid will soon be gone soon with the new ultra light and hand free eye tracking tec as well as the ultra thin tec.
ive slept in vr a lot and my first 6 or 7 nights were awful cause i wasnt used to it but then i slowly got used to it, i slowly figured out the sweet spot and what helped me sleep better and now i can go a whole night getting a 9 hour sleep. at the end of the day, it differs for everyone
I remember my first time falling asleep in VR. I was having a very bad day mentally, and a friend of mine invited me to her world to keep me company. We talked for a while, and I slowly reclined my chair more and more till I was basically laying down. It was actually quite funny to watch in real time. Anyhow, my friend asked me if I would be fine on my own, and in my mind, I was thinking I wouldn't be, so she asked if I wanted to sleep in VR to take the edge off. Me and her fell asleep, and I woke up the next day actually feeling refreshed for the first time in a while (at that point), she woke up not to long after I did and asked if I was feeling better and I told her thanks to her company I was. It was quite a nice gesture because she didn't have to do that and I still thank her for that to this day. Love hanging out with her because she has such a calm energy around her that kinda rubs off on ya. But that was one of the only times I fell asleep in VR because Quest 2 be heavy and the facial interface be uncomfortable.
i love this channel so much, it doesnt really matter the subject of the vidio, it just feels so cozy and cool to watch a Twice's vidio, but it does make me feel kinda sad that i dont have a VR set to play VR chat T-T
ive got kuro added, i was pretty good friends with him back when he was a small streamer and youre very lucky to have had that experience with him, i hope you had lots of fun making this video and it has encouraged me to sleep in vr more, thank you.
as a VRChat degenerate. There's something that becomes very comforting and surreal about falling asleep in VRC. It's kinda like nothing ever when you get used to it.
Everytime I have fallen asleep in VR (almost every time) Has been accidental, and let me say that, in my experience, accidentally falling asleep in VRChat can be very comfortable for reasons I don't understand. The few times it hasn't been an accident is when one of my friends I'm with is super tired and doesn't feel like getting off just yet, so we go find the mirror and take a small nap before they decide to head off, after which I usually do as well
started playing vrc a month ago after watching content for the past 5 years, i thought what the hay why not. ( big mistake, i clocked 500 hours lol ) after the first week of playing i passed out in a movie world with friends and it was honestly so cozy i just kept sleeping in vr every night since then. I think the most comfortable option right now on a budget has to just be an plain quest 2 with no upgraded straps or accessories, never falls off my face and i can sleep on either side comfortably : )
I almost fell asleep one time while I was hanging around with friends after an event, but the low battery warning reminded me that it would be a better idea to stop vr and put my quest 3 to charge and go to bed~ the quest 3 only has like 2 hours of battery life without external battery so I cant really sleep in vr, tho I could plug in my powerbank and get like 10 hour of battery if I want also, the controllers having more or less a week of battery life, its practical for that
Pro tip: put your headset on 50ft+ DP and USB extension cables and separate it and your sleeping space away from your loud gaming PC. You'll have to do that for your Steam VR tracker dongles too, or buy a similarly long cable for your slime router.
I've slept in VR many times over the past years, if using an index I suggest picking up a screwdriver that is capable of unscrewing the attached speakers and using a pair of wireless earphones/headphones instead its much more comfy
I tried sleeping in vr with some friends. They all snored louder than my long repressed thoughts of regret and envy. Still not ideal but it sure makes for some good ways to bully my friends during a bit of banter lol
I always wanted to try sleeping in VR but I'm also worried it might be uncomfortable. Or if I get too comfortable then I'll have to worry about sleeping too late into the morning and I don't want to be late for work. For now VR Chat has become my favorite app for binge watching TV shows and movies in desktop mode and in VR.
I saw someone sleeping in a sleeping room and thought wtf. But I don't have a headset so idk anything about the immense reality. I'm sure I d sleep too if I was using the headset. Those rooms are amazingly therapeutic.
I feel like even though the quest 2 isnt the best around, its actually good for sleeping. Especially when you have a elite strap for it. It doesn't have the pointy sides and stuff so u can lay on ur side in a pillow and actually feel comfy. Ive only slept in vr once (on accident) but it was actually really good and my rest was fine till my mom stole the headset from my head 😂 good luck sleeping guys!!
VRChat is the only place I can truly relax. Thus, VR is what forces me to sleep when I'm overtired. Normally if I try to sleep IRL, I get the wandering eyes and want to do more things. I blame doing homework too late at night, or playing grindy mmorpgs trying to catch up with/get ahead of friends. Things that have helped me: 1. Remove blue light. There are some apps you can get to remove it, but I try not to hangout in worlds that feature it a lot. Like that sleep & rest world is just all blue, it's just impossible for me to sleep there without feeling like crud later. Other worlds in VR don't make me feel like crud. That said, I haven't tried sleeping in the orange area there yet. 2. Speaking of surroundings, get something that relaxes you. Rainy worlds do wonders for putting me to sleep because the sound of rain is relaxing, and often times I can look at a window to distract my eyes to make me go to sleep instead letting my mind look around to think of something around me. Just anything that floats in the air is nice though. Whether it be fireflies, a slightly dusty house. 3. Headset dependent, but loosening the straps helps a lot as most of the pressure is now placed on the strap instead of on your face. Means the headset won't be aligned with your face, sometimes, but when you're sleepy enough you won't think about it too much. Also if you're not used to sleeping in VR, I highly suggest taking off trackers and controllers so you get used to the headset being on there first. Everything else you won't notice if you can sleep with the headset on, but will notice if the headset is already being a problem. You can record yourself sleeping in full body in the future to find out how much you move around and snore, no rush! :3 4. Lower the volume on things. Normally I have my settings around 65%, then I turn them down to 30% when I'm trying to fall asleep, then I'll lower it to 10 or 5% when my body starts feeling very heavy. 5. Lower the light. There are some worlds that even allow you to set a setting to put a bubble of darkness around your head, so it'll slowly make things darker until it's complete darkness for you. That said, UI will still be there (turn it off if you are used to VRChat enough to know how to turn it back on). Also, the default brightness of your headset will still apply. Like Index has everything be very very white if you have everything be 100%, even if you're in a black world. So I always turn that down to the minimum. There is usually places in worlds to lower the lighting too, and if there isn't, find a dark corner, or something you can put your head in to make it dark. 6. Support your neck, and be careful with the wire - One day I went to sleep in a weird way, and woke up with a very very sore neck. Now I used to struggle to sleep near other people, 'cuz I used to have anxiety (which is now gone 'cuz VR removed it). Now people sleeping helps me go to sleep. Again, snoring use usually loud, make sure you turn down voices. All that said, VR sleep isn't for everyone. I get a supercharge of energy after sleeping in VR. I think it's 'cuz I had a bad time growing up, but video games have always been nice to me for the most part. So being in a virtual world makes me happy, so waking up in that world makes my emotions be positive before my mind starts really kicking in gear. Makes it so much easier to take on the rest of the day when the mind knows where it is now, and what you can return to later, compared to trying to wake up to something you don't really care for. Note: That's just dumb subconscious thoughts. If this happens to you, try to fix your surroundings and situations as best you can so this doesn't happen to you. A lot of people just feel worse sleeping in VR, especially if they haven't done it much, or can sleep properly normally without VR anyways.
My experience has always been kinda meh. Using a Rift S, it was pretty comfortable since I mainly sleep with my head slightly tilted towards a big pillow, so it was easy to fall asleep. But the problem was STAYING asleep. Most of the time I would wakeup 3-4 hours later with full consciousness of where I was, like I knew I was just playing vrchat so it didn't feel surreal. I'm sure that'll change tho if I can get through all of the stages of the sleep cycle and not wakeup in 3 hours.
Interesting, never would have thought that vrchat has those off brand topics, vrchat is a cool fun place to hang out with friends chill out or make friends. But sometimes there's other topics that i wanna mention. Phase 1: mirror stare's. Mirror stare for short are ppl who sit in a world full of mirrors for hours on end, asleep or not who knows, but they just sit there for hours on end, starring directly at themselves in the mirror, Maybe it's to admire how good looking their character is, maybe it's just because they were bored ect. Phase 2: Drinkers. Ever wonder what it's like to drink alchaholic drinks in vr? So have many, which is my next topic, some ppl feel more comfortable doing it with friends but doing so with randoms is a out of body experience, imagine yourselves chilling out with ppl u never met or even friends if it helps, talking chilling, though it may have a weird effect on ppl. Phase 3: Inappropriate ppl. Some in the world of vrchat are weird thats all i will say, check a highly detailed video mentioning this catagory, due to yt algorithm i can't exactly say more.
I tried this the other day, in a sleeping lounge server. Somebody was going around singing lullabies, shit was super wholesome
I wanna do this

randomly found this video but funny, i used to play vrchat a lot by myself and just hangout in a public world. i dont remember the first time falling in vr for me but i do know it felt kind of surreal. i did it more often in private worlds by myself and just fell asleep so easily, did it so often that i couldn't fall asleep in the real life. i dont sleep in vr anymore but i do play sometimes with my girlfriend, we would play and get tired and eventually fall asleep. i fell asleep one time the past couple of months and realized how much i missed it. i most likely wont do it again but i do miss the feeling of waking up a whole different world, its honestly wonderful.
Sleeping in VR with another person is just amazing, also i sleep on my right side with index... i literally cannot, fall asleep otherwise...
Ive slept in VrChat once or *Twice* And ive found it to be quite the experience and quite
uncomfortable but it is what it is.
May or may not have almost got caught by instructors in the schoolhouse...
i sleep in vr with my boyfriend since we are long distance!
I actually just bought one since my long distance girlfriend plays a lot. I wonder what it'll be like.
Oh heck no bro
@@bgx3232pls don’t, your gonna get addicted really fast.
@@bgx3232just like I did
i usually sleep on my side in VR even with the index.
I think a lot of the discomforts that you guys mention in this vid will soon be gone soon with the new ultra light and hand free eye tracking tec as well as the ultra thin tec.
sleeping in vrc is nice and especially if you have a friend or someone to cuddle with
Yk it's a good day when twice uploads
ive slept in vr a lot and my first 6 or 7 nights were awful cause i wasnt used to it but then i slowly got used to it, i slowly figured out the sweet spot and what helped me sleep better and now i can go a whole night getting a 9 hour sleep.
at the end of the day, it differs for everyone
But that was one of the only times I fell asleep in VR because Quest 2 be heavy and the facial interface be uncomfortable.
i love this channel so much, it doesnt really matter the subject of the vidio, it just feels so cozy and cool to watch a Twice's vidio,
but it does make me feel kinda sad that i dont have a VR set to play VR chat T-T
Sold my entire index + FBT set today after 2k hours in VRC since 2020. This reminds me that i made the right choice
This is simply insane. I can't believe there are people who do this. It's awesome, bizarre and certainly sad.
ive got kuro added, i was pretty good friends with him back when he was a small streamer and youre very lucky to have had that experience with him, i hope you had lots of fun making this video and it has encouraged me to sleep in vr more, thank you.
as a VRChat degenerate. There's something that becomes very comforting and surreal about falling asleep in VRC. It's kinda like nothing ever when you get used to it.
That sense of relief when you posted this video😅
THE HEADSTRAP DENT BRO
That Rest and sleep world also have a horror mini game, gonna be funny to fall asleep there and wake up in a nightmare
Welcome back twice :D
Everytime I have fallen asleep in VR (almost every time) Has been accidental, and let me say that, in my experience, accidentally falling asleep in VRChat can be very comfortable for reasons I don't understand. The few times it hasn't been an accident is when one of my friends I'm with is super tired and doesn't feel like getting off just yet, so we go find the mirror and take a small nap before they decide to head off, after which I usually do as well

*aggressive cough* yoU slOW dOwn TIEEEE- AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
ive never purposely slept in vr, but ive definatly fallen asleep a good few times
My ex and i used to sleep in vrchat together- I may not have many good memories from oir relationship, but that definitely WAS a good memory.
started playing vrc a month ago after watching content for the past 5 years, i thought what the hay why not.
I almost fell asleep one time while I was hanging around with friends after an event, but the low battery warning reminded me that it would be a better idea to stop vr and put my quest 3 to charge and go to bed~
the quest 3 only has like 2 hours of battery life without external battery so I cant really sleep in vr, tho I could plug in my powerbank and get like 10 hour of battery if I want
also, the controllers having more or less a week of battery life, its practical for that
YESS A TWICE UPLOAD!!
1:12 nah ain’t no way bro got 9.2m mins playtime
sleeping in vr is honestly a vibe
Pro tip: put your headset on 50ft+ DP and USB extension cables and separate it and your sleeping space away from your loud gaming PC. You'll have to do that for your Steam VR tracker dongles too, or buy a similarly long cable for your slime router.
Great video. The cat with the music at the end caught me so of guard haha it was to funny. Great editing you got really good.
Ngl your thumbnails are always fire
Always good to see another Twice video, keep it up my guy!
I'm watching this in bed with an LCD screen strapped to my head...
I am going to log into VRChat, go into my favourite world, put on headphones and listen to music or podcasts.
4:52 so relatable I'm sobbing
i was sleeping in the black cat today, and woke up to someone yelling "I LOVE YOU!!" while looking at me. interesting experience
2 MONTHS FROM NOW, IM GETTING A VR HEADSET, 2 MONTHS FROM NOW, IM GONNA BUY SOMETHING FROM A SPONSOR FOR THE… oh wait…. SECOND TIME!!!
Things that have helped me:
A lot of people just feel worse sleeping in VR, especially if they haven't done it much, or can sleep properly normally without VR anyways.
the new bigscreen vr looks like it would be the best for sleeping in vr
My experience has always been kinda meh. Using a Rift S, it was pretty comfortable since I mainly sleep with my head slightly tilted towards a big pillow, so it was easy to fall asleep. But the problem was STAYING asleep. Most of the time I would wakeup 3-4 hours later with full consciousness of where I was, like I knew I was just playing vrchat so it didn't feel surreal. I'm sure that'll change tho if I can get through all of the stages of the sleep cycle and not wakeup in 3 hours.
I used to sleep in vrchat a lot especially with friends we would go to a calm world and just listened to music or movies and fall asleep
8 hours of sleep is a legend of a far past tale... modern day sleeping schedule is like 4 hours per day for some rip
"a human needs 8 hours of sleep to keep a healthy lifestyle"
you really think vrchat players are healthy? LOL
Bruh this is so wholesome.
maaan this is the first video i see of u, i loved the "twice's conscious" thing, insta subbed!
Some in the world of vrchat are weird thats all i will say, check a highly detailed video mentioning this catagory, due to yt algorithm i can't exactly say more.
twice's conciseness is my spirit animal
