Since you enjoyed the family-issues element in the Abby Jimenez book, I'd like to recommend The Heart Principle by Helen Huang (if you haven't already read it)! It's a romance but it also has a healthy sub plot and great character work.

Behind The Net by Stephanie Archer is so cute! It’s on Kindle Unlimited if you can’t find it somewhere or don’t want to order it. And Breakaway by Grace Reilly is so good!! It’s my favorite of the books in the series, but it has a ‘spicy bucket list’ trope, so there’s a lot of spice, so maybe you won’t love it because of that, but the whole series is so good so far and the final book is coming out later this year. They’re also all standalones, so you don’t HAVE to read them in order if you don’t want to, but I do recommend it cause they’re all so cute. All the characters in all the books are really well written and it’s not just dumb high school type of drama and conflicts. They’re also all on Kindle Unlimited as well!

this vlog made me smile, you and Brady are so cute, you brought up some really good points about having a kindle, I like reading physical copies of books more but a kindle is definetly more accesible since I share a bedroom on campus with 2 roommates and I travel back and forth by car or by plane a lot and I go on long flights four times a year, so it definetly is easier to have a kindle when I can read in the dark like on late night car drives back home in Sac or flying back to Hong Kong where home - home is

A great fiction book that deals with grief is The Guncle by Steven Rowley. There are happy times and some not-so-happy ones. Yes, there are little children, but they play an essential role that we don't expect them.
