Really hope they continue with more Thing figures cause I’ll get the whole crew and creatures! Would have the blood test scene as a diorama

Neca usually prices anything that isn't humanoid at 60 usd.
Ended up picking this up from target on sale. I was a bit nervous due to some of the reviews on it, but using a blow dryer ended up working fine and I suffered no breakages. It’s a neat set for sure, but there’s not much more you can do with it besides displaying it. I really hope they do some more versions of the thing but I can’t really imagine any of them being too posable besides the spider head given the movie’s designs.
Exactly. You need to be careful and use a TON of heat, and though this IS cool... It's a display piece. A more modern statue would have been fine by me.

A blow-dryer is a recommended accessory for almost all NECA figures. In the future I hope NECA comes out with their own Branded blow-dryer/Heat gun. It would just feel better than pulling out the old Revlon!
I know a lot of people recommend the “boil ‘n pop” method but I personally find it to be a terrible method for Neca figures. Neca figures are typically made using somewhat flimsy plastic and you risk the paint coming right off even with regular warm water. Use a blow dryer. On a side note, this release reminds me of the Alien 3 creature pack and not in a good way. I will probably still end up picking this up just to display it as the detail is top notch as always, but I don’t see myself actually messing with it further out of fear of breaking something.

I really whish that they also make the 2011 prequel creatures, i just want that splitface thing in it's full glory (also, the alien pilot would be nice).
I seriously doubt anyone would microwave a figure to heat it up without warping the figure. Man my hands hurt looking at the different accessories

It looks like a necromorph. Ironically there is a necromorph dog lurker in dead space 3.
Keep it in mind for the figma coming soon!... maybe soon? who knows lol
Do you realize that Dead Space it's based on the Thing (and Event Horizon) and not the other way?

I want to love this set soooo bad, but man did neca do a sloppy job. Such a mess. Would have preferred less fragile articulation and more solid pieces
