I hate when shows like this get cancelled. Raising Hope was definitely one of my favorites. My favorite comedy series are the ones without laugh tracks.
If a show teaches love and togetherness, it gets canceled early. If it teaches hate, hurtfulness and worship of the self, then it runs well past its expiration date.
Does that grocery store not have cameras? Surely she would have been found out by now if it was bugging her manager that much with that soup can turning/produce doodling shenanigans. :P
Isn’t this set in the late 80s/early 90s? Cameras weren’t everywhere then and even when you had them they were often on a 60 or 90 minute looped video tape, meaning you only had the last hour or so of footage before it started recording over
@@StoutProper Oh so the show was set in the 80s/90s era? I didn't notice that from the short clip. I guess that would make more sense for the manager to not have known since stores didn't have as many cameras and recording tech was more limited back then.
@@MagnumForce51 maybe even the 70s? I’m basing that on the home decor, haricuts, electrical goods he’s pawning, the tube tv and model of fridge freezer in the kitchen etc
@@StoutProper Everything in the main character's household is from the 70's because they are dirt poor and live in their grandma's house. Which is all 70'a decor and technology.
I think the decision was to add more to the story. A basic grocery store was pretty boring, so between episodes, the grocery store was "bought out" by the franchise Howdy's. There is a continuity error regarding the store as well. In S1E1, Jimmy visits the store with Hope, and they are all wearing their red uniforms. They haven't been bought out at this point. In S1E2, Sabrina tells Jimmy that they had been bought out by Howdy's, hence the blue uniforms. However, in the season finale, S1E22, we see a flashback to well before Hope was ever born. In this time, the grocery store workers were all wearing blue, meaning this Howdy's already existed well before Hope was born.
Same thing happened on Happy Days. 1st episode (2nd pilot) the drive in was "A"rthur's. In the following few episodes you see "under new mgt" signs and it becomes "A"rnold's

I liked this show too, I was sad when they took it off of Netflix

Fr right you fall in love with the characters then they're ripped away lol
If there is no woke lgbtq abusing children you can bet they cancel it

Good writing and excellent use of humor. No laugh track a big +++ Clever word mashing in certain scenes. Great interplay between actors.

Anyone know why they changed the name of the grocery store?
