Met Marty a few times... Really lovely person
Best version ever.. real live music.... Thks
In my opinion, Barrett Strong's version, the original, tops them all. But I will say, other than the Flying Lizards' version, which is kind of in its own category to me, this version comes the closest to being as good as the original to me.
Great performance!
Excellent version of this classic tune.
Reggie Smith, Marty Wilde was in my class at school in 1955... Not surprised that he became a singer musician he was very talented.
This man could sing! A great talent.
He still can! I saw him this year - he's 83, yet sounds the same as he did in 1957!
I’m a huge fan of his daughter. You can see where she got her talent from
Que versión más fabulosa!!!
O piesă de referință în istoria muzicii, frumos cover, version ! Unfotgettable track, great tune! Greetings for the post from Romanía !
Great job top-notch version
Wow!
Love his body language. So kinetic... looks like he could start doing King Tut at any moment lol
Браво!!!
super
Súperb!
Great show
I saw Marty when I was 16 a work mates uncle worked for the BBC so got 2 free tickets to be in the dance audience it was filmed in Bristol UK
@@peterchecksfield9958 I can remember that they had to do 3 takes because Marty forgot the words of the song
@@G1IXE Can you remember the song? I wrote a book called 'Channelling The Beat' on music TV appearances (including Marty's) and I'm always looking for more info!
No I can't I am now 72 I think I only reason i remember it so will because of the 3 takes I was getting a bit feed up
Great to see Marty cut loose on this, should have been a hit
It was never actually released on a record, just something he performed live.
Father of Kim Wilde, he could rock out on his own however!
@@TRICKYprojectMarty Wilde was born Reginald Smith. Renamed by Larry Parnes gave the world Billy Fury, Dickie Pride, Vince Eager…
Weird thinking he was a huge star prior to this in the UK. In New Zealand, he's known for his only hit here 'Abbergaveny' and that's it which I don't even think did anything in the UK?
goodiesguy - “Abergavenny” was his only big hit for him in Australia as well.
I remember as a young boy hearing Abbergaveny on NZ radio during the late 60s,liked it a lot but it seems to have been the only hit he had here Auckland New Zealand 2022
прямо сейчас в мою жизнь устремляется поток благодати и достатка да будет так
Who is backing him ?
Who did this first? Him or barrett strong?
Barrett Strong. Covered by Jerry Lee Lewis (one of the first to cover it), Little Richard, and at least a dozen UK 60s acts.
Well, The Beatles cover was by far the most famous version in the 60s ( or most of the 60s!)
man those hands are horrifying. why do they have holes in their hands?
Wow he stole BArry song
@ Relaxing Waters. No, he sang a song, you dimwit. Music is there for everyone. Have all those orchestras who have played Mozart stole his music?
His stage presence was awful
He's still performing today, and there's nothing wrong with his stage presence.
Never realized Marty could play the harmonica until I watched this.
