This video is looking at the 2020 Sole F80. This treadmill earns 4.5 stars and is on our list of best treadmills. We love the super simple interface and the fact that this treadmill has an unmatched user weight capacity.
The Sole F80 has a sturdy 3.5 chp (DC) motor, a 12 mph max speed, and an incline range of 0-15%. The deck can fold to save space and also makes it easier to move the treadmill. The Sole F80 also has an impressive 375 lb weight capacity. The deck uses Sole’s Cushion Flex™ technology for a small amount of cushioning with a running surface that measures 22” x 60”. This treadmill is also one of only a few treadmills left that cover their equipment with a lifetime warranty.
Frame/Motor - lifetime
Electronics/Parts - 5 years
Labor - 2 years
Features and accessories on the Sole F80 include built-in console speakers that are Bluetooth capable, a tablet holder for mobile devices, and a USB plug for charging phones and tablets. The console has a small built-in fan but it doesn’t put out very much of a breeze.
Each side of the console has a large water bottle holder and there is an additional accessory tray beneath the console.
The Sole F80 has an outdated 9” LCD display that adds to the simplicity of this home treadmill. Heart rate monitoring can be done using the EKG pulse grip handle bars beneath the console or the Bluetooth chest strap HR monitor that comes with the treadmill.
This treadmill has only 10 workout programs available: 2 heart rate, 2 custom, Manual, Hill, Fatburn, Cardio, Strength, and Interval. Sole Fitness is a free app that pairs with the Sole F80. It can be used to control the treadmill settings and activity when running outdoors.
Overall, we feel this treadmill is one of the best option for users concerned with weight capacity.
It’s a great home treadmill with a very reliable build and lengthy warranty coverage. It’s easy to navigate and can sustain long-term heavy use. - Спорт
Ordered one today from Sole webpage. All the simplicity descriptions you've provided, that's all need. Hopefully, it will serve me well!! Thank you for your review!!
How is it?
Hey for anyone wondering, just got this treadmill and it took me like 20 minutes to realize the bluetooth speakers and the actual F80 device have unique bluetooth names. If you're trying to pair for the speakers, make sure you pair to "BT_Speaker" and not "F80". Hopefully that helps someone lol.
Quick question, what buttons do you press to get the Bluetooth speakers to pop up for Bluetooth connection?
@@keondrewalker5415 For me, I just enabled bluetooth on my smartphone and the "BT_Speaker" option was there. It's a generic name, so if you have multiple speakers in your home, you might see a couple different ones with that same name. Make sure the treadmill is on. That's about all I can think of.
Wow, thank you! I have been looking all over to find this one piece of information.
Thank you for your review. I bought mine and very satisfied with it. Great quality product. It feels solid and durable.
Still happy with your purchase?
How about its cushioning ? is it hard on the joints ?
Start running and walking on the treadmills you review.. Have someone film the belt as you walk or run so we can see the impact.. Show the incline in motion and how fast or slow it takes to speed up and slow down... This is what people want to see, not just the controls that can be read in a manual.
she looked so unhappy walking on it.. lol I was waiting for her to run.
Doesnt make a lot of sense to review a treadmill and barely show some walking, and the reviewer clearly didn’t look enthused to be doing what she was doing.
Thank you for the thorough review!
Thanks! We appreciate your feedback
SOLD! I'm simple, this works for me lol. Gonna order now.
Great review, thank you.
Thank you so much!
I ordered the F80 last week. Hopefully ship next week. It replaces an old Epic 425mx that I may have repaired when this COVID-19 is over and give to daughter. I also upgraded to a smart TV in gym, and plan to try some of the virtual running programs/apps that way.
That sounds great, we hope you enjoy your new machine!
sdallnct hi ! I’m looking into getting one I typically run at 7.0 speeds for 30 minutes can you tell me how you like it and how it preforms please?
How is it? I plan to order one next week.
Consumer reports has this model at #2 for best treadmills. Peloton is #1
$4,300!!
Awesome.. Your video answered a question I had. Does it have wheels and can be rolled in and out of place. Are the wheels sturdy?
Thank you! It would be helpful if you talked about where the F80 fits within the entire SOLE product line.
Thanks for the feedback! We'll try to incorporate that into future reviews.
helped me alot
Can you tell me the height from the top of the deck to the top of the handles? And from the floor to the top of the tablet holder?
Can you change the treadmill to miles instead of Km? I am just about to pick up a demonstrator model
Can you connect your runs on the treadmill to garmin or Strava?
How many hours per day can you use it ? How often do I have to lubricate the belt ? Thanks a lot !
Im trying to decide between treadmills would the f80 or 85 be enough for the family(5ppl daily) the most any one weights is 270 and the highest any one would crank it is 6mph. Any other ones you recommend?
Does sole have a assembly package? Do you recommend a mat if this treadmill is placed on a rug
We've had this unit for about 3 years and I'm finally making time to learn about the User 1 & 2 custom programming. When inputting the segment times, it jumps from 0 (zero) to 10 minutes. There's no way to select times less than 10 minutes, even times to a specific second? If so, kindly share what I might me doing wrong. I don't see anywhere in the manual that states 10 minutes in the minimum time segment, so I'm clearly not doing something right. Thanks much.
Hi,
Could you tell me what size mat (and make) you have under the F80 please?
I just bought this model. Does anyone know if it is safe to clean the handles and display screen with Lysol/Clorox wipes? The user manual doesn’t specify how to clean them.
Is the tablet holder at the top removable?
Is there a place where you can put a thick book on this machine?
I've seen people role this thing, when it's folded up.. How big are the wheels?
I'm planning to put mine in my "gym" on those interlocking foam tiles.. Would that be an issue? At 300 lbs, I think the weight of this machine will cause it to sink into the foam and it'll just get stuck.
Hey I can't decide between this for £1700 or the bowflex bxt128 for £1800. What's your advice?
Can we use a Garmin cheststrap with the F80? Thanks
Can you guys please start reviewings curve treadmills? Nobody is doing comparative reviews of these. Like the woodway curve,
Assault airrunner, resolve fitness reactive runner, trueform runner, IN10CT health runner, technogym skillmill, and a bunch of others. I'm actually seeing interest in these online for home use but very few online reviews. Thanks!
I've tried the Woodway Curve and TrueForm Runner, both mechanical treadmills. They are difficult to use. Maintaining good posture on them is hard because you tend to lean forward to keep the belt in motion. Most people with the exception of elite athletes can only last a short time on them and use them for sprint training. The Woodway Curve Trainer is advertised for walkers with a lower rise to the platform than the original Curve, but easy walking is not really an option on these, just running because of the force required. For home use, a mechanical treadmill is still more versatile for most average athletes.
What are the dimensions of that exercise mat?
I just want one that's not trying to force you into subscriptions and limit your hamsterwheel functionality if you DON'T pay a subscription.
The F80 seems ideal.
I purchased one reach it last works really well I love run on it everyday for 30 to 45 min
any problems with it yet?
@@StylesBySummer no problems at all works really well!
Can you comment on its cushioning pls ? is it hard on the joints ?
@@questbaz not hard at all for the joints very comfortable to walk or run on
How often do you have to lubricate the belt?
Will it push ok on a carpet what’s the dimensions Dosent it have decline ?
What’s the height from floor to running Matt I have a small ceiling only 2.1 m
I read that it's 8 inches
why do you have a rubber may underneath, do you need this because of shake?
No, we do that just to show the machine a little better and so the treadmill doesn't damage our floor at all.
the display is in km/h or mp/h?
Can you adjust the base wheels to ensure that it's level?
Is the F80 uncomfortable for taller people ? I'm around 1.85m. Or should I go for a higher treadmill like a Proform or Nordictrack ?
Great question, and thanks for checking out our review. You would be fine to use this treadmill at that height, although a ProForm or NordicTrack would provide a little bit more cushioning for your knees. The sole treadmill has a little less cushioning but it's built to last a long time. Let us know if you have any follow up questions.
Can you begin to include noise/volume of treadmill in reviews? I'm looking for a very quiet treadmill. Any suggestions in the meantime?
F80 is low noise
This is a great low noise treadmill ! 👍. The motor is stunning! I own the 2020 F-80
@@jimilee4609 Do you use any apps with your treadmill? I am looking at purchasing F80. The reviews for the Sole Fitness app leads me to believe the app is useless.
Can I pair this with zwift?
I notice this treadmill is on a mat in the video. Do we need one? Does it come with the treadmill? We have tile floor - not sure if the mat/cushion helps or not.
Putting a mat under a treadmill feet helps cushion it a bit more and keeps those on rollers from moving around. It doesn't show the pad coming with it on their website.
Hi, which treadmill is ranked higher if this is ranked 4.5 stars?
The NordicTrack X22i incline trainer is our best rated treadmill.
I bought this treadmill and love it FYI. got it for about $1600 at Dick's Sporting Goods
Hi there, how noisy is this one? Thanks!
@@chrisc935 Not noisy at all! When we first got the treadmill, my boyfriend tried it first and I was downstairs. I went upstairs and was going to ask why he wasn't walking (because I wanted to next!) but he was! I couldn't hear it at all downstairs. The belt is super smooth, very quiet. I used to be a distance runner and swore by the road but now I swear by this treadmill!
Erica Lee awesome! Exactly what we are looking for. Our current treadmill that is upstairs is older, but holy cow you can hear it through the entire house. So annoying! Price point for this looks good for a home treadmill too!
@@chrisc935 yeah not too bad! If you use Rakuten, check to see if Dick's Sporting Good has a money back offer and if you could order the treadmill online maybe you could get some $ back. I thought of this after the fact. But really, great treadmill, I'd be honest if I thought otherwise.
If you still have this out and in use, could you tell me how long the power cable to plug it in is?
Does treadmill burn belly fat?
Do any of the Sole models interface live with programs like Zwift or Mapmyrun or is it only a download after? I was looking at the 2020 Sole F85.
The Sole consoles are pretty basic and have limited tech. They don't allow you to download anything on the console at all. The Sole F85 is a great machine and works great if you're okay with limited tech or can use Zwift or Mapmyrun on your phone or tablet.
Does this treadmill support running apps such as Zwift and run social?
yes...just saw it on their facebook page
Where is the charging port
I live in an apartment complex in the 2nd floor. Do you have any recommendations for treadmills with low motor noise or ones that make the least amount of impact noise when running at 7mph - 8mph speed? My budget is $1,000 to $3,000 usd. I prefer one with a chp of 3.5 to 4.0, from my research it seems the higher chp the better the treadmill. I don’t have a prefer brand just looking for something reliable. Thank you.
The F80 is very good treadmill
Will this work with ifit if ifit is on a tablet?
I was reading that it does
Is it safe to leave outside on a screened porch with moisture or does it have to be kept indoors?
You could try it out and see how it goes. We aren't sure about Sole but some treadmill companies say that leaving it outside, in a garage, or a shed will void the warranty if anything on it breaks. You could definitely try it out but that is one of the risks you run with it. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Is anyone using a heavy duty extension cord?
Hi there, great videos. I'm a heavier person at 325 lbs, but I still consider myself semi-athletic and can still jog for extended periods and do sprint intervals. I've ran on many commercial gym treadmills in my time and have sometimes ran into a big problem - that occasionally, the belt would feel like it skips/sticks/stutters for just a brief instant. I'm unsure what's caused this; it could be that I step or stride in just a way with too much pressure or weight. It didn't ALWAYS happen on EVERY treadmill, but sometimes. I decided to purchase the F80 for my covid-started home-gym, and unfortunately I'm noticing it doing this same thing. It happens randomly, not too often, but maybe once every ~2-5 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less. The skip is extremely jarring and frustrating to deal with.
Ever hear of a problem like this before or have any insights about what could cause it or how to address it?
Thanks so much.
The belt needs to be lubed! Had an issue like this with home treadmill. Once the belt was lubed appropriately it was no issue at all.
@@phyxius777 Yea, I've since lubricated and tightened the belt and it's worked great! Thanks
I’m not sponsored or paid to promote this product. I actually own it and use it always every day. It’s got problems. A lot electrical and electronic problems. I’ve been using it for about a year now and called the technician twice to service and replace parts. I’m selling the treadmill after parts and labour warranty is up from the retailer. I’m not buying a sole product again.
So they have technicians in the area and come to your place to fix it? I read that "norditrack" has bad customer service
Any difference with SOLE F80 Treadmill 2019 ?
No major updates. You can connect your phone with bluetooth now to play music but other than that it's still a very reliable machine.
Es silenciosa ?
Si.
I did a running test on this , then the Bowflex , similar model , did not like this model ..
Do you mind sharing what you didn't like about it? We would love to get your feedback.
@@BestTreadmillReviews didn’t feel like a smooth run , not enough shock absorption for me . Iam 55 been running for years and Iam looking to get the most protection for my joints . I felt the difference right away on the bowflex . I was going to buy the bowflex right away , but unfortunately it was not in stock .
@@jessica4885 That's all great to know, thanks for sharing your experience!
Im not getting a Sole here is why I called their customer service sales department the first sales lady did not know thw difference between f80 and f85 and sent me around the service department line and I came Back to her the second time I called the guy told me the info I needed to l now but when I asked about financing he said I need to call the financing company they use I called them and the phone number was for current customers only......so there they were too lazy to even take my purchase ot sound like they are very happy with what they have already sold and don't need more sales bye bye sole.
F80 and F85 comes down to the bigger LCD display by an inch, bigger motor, 3.5 vs. 4.0, max weigh capacity 375 vs 400, Bigger rollers, which increase the weight of the treadmill itself by about 25lbs Sole is an amazing treadmill, and they have a wonderful line of Ellipticals too! I've owned both, and recently just purchased the F80 because it had a bigger running deck than the F63 HTH's
Don't believe the reviews. I bought an F80 in 2012 and it only has 282 hours on it. It suffers from the dreaded LS1 speed error. IF you don't know what the LS1 speed error, Google it. I have tried all of the fixes listed and still it won't work. Sole replaced the belt and deck one time and that resolved the issue for a short time. Now Sole says it could be the motor, rollers, circuit board, belt and deck, or maybe just the drive belt. They have no technicians that service my area, so for the last 4 years, it's been unusable. I truly regret buying a Sole treadmill.
that was 8 years ago. do the current soles still have this problem?
Which treadmill do you recommend then fool?
Sounds like you just got a defective machine. That can happen with any brand, even commercial brands have their problems. You cant blame a whole company on one defective machine. Also, treadmills have come a long way since 2012. The newer models like the F80 shown here is a great machine. Sorry you had bad luck but try a new model.
@@dngl21 I did get a defective machine...it was a Sole F80. I recently replaced it with a REAL treadmill... a Precor. Yeah, it was more expensive than the Sole, but if you do it right the first time, it only hurts once.
@@JpNinja003 You ask for a recommendation then call me a fool? I think YOU deserve a Sole.
This thing doesn’t track distance below 1/10th of a mile (.1). That is pretty useless for anyone doing speed work. Their older models did this.
How much is the cost?
Check the link in the description 👍
Can you do a review on horizon pls
Which machine specifically are you hoping for?
Thx for the response, the 7.8 model. Thank you
I need a treadmill ASAP, we just bought the Bowflex BXT116 Treadmill and I keep seeing some bad reviews for it. We are supposed to rent a truck and go to pick it up at Dicks sporting goods tomorrow. Did we make a bad choice?
Also I am 6ft, 275lbs. and need to stay in this 1500-1600 price range...

Sole treadmill are bald made, mine broke down in 3 months
The Sole console is so dated, it desperately needs a more modern design. Also, those speakers are so cheap, and that fan is useless
@Tony Westenra I just bought the Sole F80, anything else?
@Tony Westenra there’s more to a treadmill than just the console. I bought the Sole for their construction, belt, and warranty, but their consoles are outdated
I thought this was a Ferrari F-80 review . Welp.. guess not.
Haha so close.
She didn't give a good review at all. A waste of time.
NOTE: This product works exactly as described. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxguEIMc_Qwab-3QMTpF6jaRL80hiOOsIN It originally earned a four-star review due to a minor defect (see below). However, the manufacturer's customer service rep (Lita) went above and beyond the call of duty and deserves five stars now. I wish I could give even more!I purchased this item which arrived quickly. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. There was only one problem: One bolt did not screw into the hole properly. I called the company. Their customer service rep (Lita) was terrific! She took all my information and submitted a request to replace the defective part. I'm hoping to finish assembly and start using this treadmill soon. (Fingers crossed...)FOLLOW UP: Lita called back to inform me that the company will send a replacement part AND a technician(canyoutalk) to install it properly. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Thank you!!
