I started playing drums a little over ten years ago and, I think it did it cause me to develop bad posture in most things that I do, even when I'm not drumming. I actually put the drums aside for the past few years, and worked a lot and tried working out and I really messed up my shoulders and back. And now that I'm trying to drum again I really notice my bad posture behind the kit. I'm so happy to see that someone took the time to rethink the throne and make it work for once!
Hi there, not sure if youre interested in my opinion but in case you are, Id encourage you to look into open-handed drumming. I have been struggling for a long time with bad posture but as soon as Ive started playing with my hands open, Ive seen many improvements, not only when playing the drums, but also in day-to-day life. It is surely gonna feel awkward at first, but if you take your time and work through literature such as "Progressive Steps to Syncopation" by Tedd Reed you will see improments that are so great that you wont even believe it, especially when doing these latin rhythms that require a lot of independence. There are also channels on TY such as "redefining strength" where they show not the exercises that youd usually see but the ones that actually require you to do natural movements; these also have helped me a great deal. Hope that helps, dont stop improving mate
When you said "split-seat, spring-balanced design", do you mean that both cushions are on a flexible plate rather than being on a very rigid plate? I don't mean the shiny black metal plate that's on the bottom of the seat, but I mean the part that the cushions are attached to. Thank you.
its just on a solid base, i dont know what he's talking about with "spring-balanced design", but i own one and its great. foam is slightly firm than i expected.
@@krusher74 Thank you! I forgot to update this, but shortly after I asked I ordered one and WOW I love it! I hope I never have to use any other drum stool for as long as I live.
It’s not sponsored. I’m an endorser, but still bought my throne. If it helps, the roc n soc is also a fantastic throne, but I just sold my relatively new (a year) roc n soc to a student, but still have this same throne in the video that I use every day in the studio and regularly at shows and I love it.
he definitely weighs more than me, but does he play on this throne for hours without any butt numbness, or other numbness issues? it looks like you'll sink into the board after an hour.
Just like A bike style throne, I do not want A throne that I have to rotate in position every time I sit down . During A performance I may Stand up, walk away from the kit ,Ect and I want to jump back on the throne without that extra step.
Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give medical advice with that! But this stool does take the pressure off of the spine, so if its spinal/nerve related I would imagine it would help!
His accent makes me listen to him like he has knowledge and authority, and then he edited clips of a guy drumming with gloves on, and I can’t take it seriously. . . 😬 great drummer tho!!
Haha! Back when I was using ahead sticks it was pretty common for me to also play with the ahead gloves because the aluminium sticks didn’t have the same grip as a lacquered wooden stick. If you watch my more recent videos you’ll notice the gloves have gone. Thanks for watching!
1:20 the 1 question we wanted answered and now finally answered, thanks.

Was this video sponsored by Ahead? I'm considering buying this throne or a Roc n Soc one

the foam is quite firm, i'm 180lbs and I don't sink into it at all.I feel totally on top of it
Nice seat,do they make a model with a lower lumbar adjustable back rest?
See for yourself: www.aheaddrumsticks.com/drum-thrones1.html
Which Ahead Sticks do you use?
im scared to get may baals stuck in that gap
You need bigger balls in that case tomo :-)
Some sort of underpants will be in order !
@@morrisjvan or throw them over your shoulder
Do u think a gibraltors universal back rest would work on it?
Exactly what I've been wanting to know, did you find out?.
I need to stop watching these... It keeps making me buy stuff!
Did u get this throne?
Anyone tried it at the piano?
it might not go low enough

sounds likes like a hard life!
I get numbness in my dick playing drums (no seriously) would this throne help or is it just a matter of throne height?
Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to give medical advice with that! But this stool does take the pressure off of the spine, so if its spinal/nerve related I would imagine it would help!
just get this. okay? guys
ok!
can we trust him? he does use drum gloves...
We all know drum gloves are gay
What about a space for our nuts?.... Why? Lol
