- Sandy Brondello, Leonie Fiebich, and Breanna Stewart spoke with the media following the Liberty's 105-91 win against the Wings on September 10, 2024.
Wow amazing performance by whole New York Liberty tonight. This was a physical game tonight. But tonight the New York Liberty showed they have complete team to win a championship and the complete pieces as well. And they also showed tonight they have complete pieces to win games this year and rebound after loses. I definitely believe the most important thing for the liberty going into the more games of the playoff season and including tonight. Is having control over all four quarters what they displayed tonight versus Dallas Wings and previously this Sunday versus the Las Vegas Aces. Breanna Stewart And Sabrina both had a strong first quarter and was leader on defense and offense for the liberty . Jones had a wonderful first quarter as well she was prominent in the defensive end for the first quarter.That just show the growth of this team through the season between games and through the season in general.And Sabrina as well she has an excellent game with Breanna Stewart on the offensive end and defensve end. Which I definitely believe Sabrina and Breanna understood their assignments tonight. And knew they had to be involved of the offensive and the defensive end as well. And they had to play better then they mistakes they made during the previous game .Breanna Stewart and Sabrina came out strong in the first quarter and finished strong as well tonight.They corrected their mistake as well in this game but the end of the first quarter they had most points and they out hustling this Seattle storm team . This New York liberty team as effective unit has the ability to win games and championships and their presence was definitely felt tonight in a positive way on both ends of the floor. And aslo extends to the Liberty bench Mob as well not just the starting lineup. They have complete pieces to win championships and win games. That how they play basketball and they all should be proud of tonight perfomance because I'm definitely proud of them. They should proud of tonight perfomance collectivity as team. And what Breanna Sabrina,Jones and the Liberty Bench Mob was able to do tonight to grind out the win tonight.This was a excellent night for This New York liberty. Who definitely need to keep this focus and yo keep this mindset by the end of every quarter we either needs to leading by points or neck or neck with the other team.Then going into the 3rd quarter and the fourth quarter with more points more rebound and more assists. And also more shots to the free throw line.Sandy Brondello needs to remain poised and remain focused on coaching the New York liberty and putting them in the best situation to be leading every quarter in points and rebound and assists. And tweaking the mistakes they do make so they will make less of the those mistakes as the games and the quarter goes on. Player stats for this game Breanna Stewart 27 points 2 rebound and 2 assists in 27 minutes of basketball play .Sabrina Ionescu with 14 points and 11 assists in 26 minutes of basketball play . Betnijah Laney-Hamilton had 10 points in 22 minutes of playing time with 5 rebound and 2 assists . Leonie Fiebich and Courtney Vandersloot combined for 16 points and four pionts. In 22 minutes and 21 minutes of playing time. And 2 rebound and 10 assists Jonquel Jones my favorite center in WNBA with 5 rebound 19 points and two in 20 minutes of playing time. rebounds and seven points. This New York Liberty team is an elite and dangerous 3 point team and defensively and offensively as well that love to win and know how to win. I believe they don't get enough credit as a team and individual players of what they do offensively and defensively and tonight I'm giving them Credit they all deserve the credit tonight excellent win tonight by the New York Liberty and excellent basketball game.
