@ You ain’t wrong tho! And it ain’t weird that’s for sure haha! I can’t tell you how many times I see people say things like “I never knew how much my free range chickens would poop all over my porch!” Or the fact that I’d be hosing poop off my cow every single day during the summer 😂
@deserttrailshomestead oh, seriously with the chickens. I love how charming they look walking around in the yard but they just completely tear up any landscaping you've got, and they're like drawn to any pavement and porches and stuff. 🙄 We've caught them lately eating the dog food and watching TV through the basement window. Haha 😅
@ Oh I love that so much haha! Our hens have decided that they must do everything in their power to get into our garage and lay their eggs in there. I’m not sure why when they have a perfectly good and clean coop haha.
I agree about the poop. I never saw any of the youtube videos that showed poopy udders. I have had so many morning milk times when Shawna our heifer was so poopy, I didnt have enough soapy water, rags and rinse water to get her cleaned up and it was freezing cold outside. : )
@1965gracebug seriously, though. It's such a long, tedious process when they're super dirty. I've had everyone commenting on the poop one. Haha. I didn't realize that it would resonate so much. 😅
@GrandmaBeth2dogs thank you so much. ♡ I just started a couple months ago, and it is still very humbling to me to have perfect strangers reach out and say kind things.
yeah, every time I hear people talk about raw milk, I wonder if people know just how dirty cows are and how impossible it is to keep that from contaminating the milk.
@meredithvaughan5946 you do have to be pretty thorough when cleaning before milking. Sometimes, they aren't too dirty, but in the winter, when they're not grazing and their food is in one spot, they get pretty muddy and poopy. It takes a lot longer to clean them during the winter.
@KatrinaM1234 do you have kids? I think it's similar. It's real gross changing diapers at first, but you get used to it, and it's not a big deal. I've heard old farmers say they like the smell of manure. They say it smells like money. 😅 but yeah, if you have plenty of room for the animals to roam around it's not as bad and their are lots of good systems to deal with it. Nathan and I just aren't that good at it yet, and we've got a lot of animals. I definitely want to get some better systems going before we take on any more.

@MandaRijn452 👍🏻 thank you for the comment.
The poop is such a real thing!! I never knew how much poop would be so engrained into my daily life haha 😂
@deserttrailshomestead seriously. I felt like I was a weirdo for talking about it, but really....it needed to be said.

@deserttrailshomestead haha. I totally feel ya! My husband used to get so mad when they would poop in the garage.

@cedarwoodtv I know it's the weirdest thing. Thank goodness for analytics at least I know where they are and how old they are etc.
Yes, this is what drives me insane about the Instagram perfect farms that people present. It is such a false picture. There is truly so much poop.
Hahaha! Ikr!!! When I see those, I'm like, either I'm doing something terribly wrong or they have waaaaay more time on their hands than I do.
Great video, good shots, great audio. Doing an excellent job for someone just starting out. Great information that I definitely didn't even consider.
@@MrZipcouda thanks!

Thank you, Dawn!!! ♡

Poop is the one thing I know I am not prepared for.
