I was there for the first couple hours of Vandermist Dossier. Was fairly promising and had a cool premise but I agree with some of the problems you mentioned.
Yeah. The story setups are pretty good and they have some compelling ideas but something about the execution did seem a bit off. Somehow they both felt a bit anticlimactic even though on paper I think some big revelations did occur. If you find the process of being methodical, while trying to solve spatial/visual puzzles, meditative then you'll probably enjoy this a lot more. Some puzzles do feel like their geared towards taking things slow and being very thorough. A little more focused on process than insight.
