    Fik shun IS dancing, he's always having so much fun and just a consistent performer!
    CLOCKS was so clean and definitely made a huge fan out of me. Never heard of him before and got really shocked, he's a true beat killer and some of the ways he was bringing out the music was really refreshing to watch.
    Battles like these are so much fun to watch. I usually am rooting for one side or another but these are just two solid dancers.

    Blown away by how good these guys are. Clocks’ slow motion and robot was next lvl. Fikshun is all around dope. The headstand move at the end was brave and very creative, but did not really go anywhere. Had clocks not done that, he might’ve won. Might’ve. I’ve never seen fikshun lose but this was the first time I thought he might.

    Fikshun 1st round (very close). Clocks 2nd Round (no contest lol). Fikshun 3rd round. I think what hurt Clocks was that power move he tried where both his legs were in the air. Shit really really slowed down his momentum. It's a creative asf move but he wasn't able to transition as smoothly out of it as he did everything else since it requires a lot of balance and focus. Sucks. I was rooting for him too. Better luck next time.

    From watching Joe for years, I can see why he judged how he did, not sure why all the judges weren't listed in the description or shown on the footage, except for Joe. Super rare not to see the judges. Either way; dope concept switching it up and doing it with live music for the Final. Sometimes I fear local battles become who can hit the bigger crowd appealing move oppose to who out dances the other. Breakin' battles sometimes have this happen; power beats dance, not all the time, but enough times to recognize it being an issue. I thought Clocks out danced and had rebuttals, but Fik-shun performed great. It really could've went either way, but hey chose Fik-shun, so it is what it is.

    • @professorbird1224
      @professorbird1224 4 роки тому +2

      tomotombo I wasn’t talking about counting? A good dancer hears the music, and a great dancer understands it. But a phenomenal one CONNECTS with it. The 4’s and 8’s of measures are much easier with instruments, IF you understand music bcuz instruments don’t break the chain. I can show you an 8yr old with the musicality of a 30yr old. If you have the right educator it is NOT hard.PERIOD.
      As for knowing when the sounds switch, like I said, if you have enough music in you, it’s not that hard. I’m not a random youtuber or dancer. I’ve performed to drum lines in real time, and rocked with TooManyZooz on stage live. The reason it’s so hard for most people to hear the music, is because they approach dance backwards. They think move first, dance second. The most common phrase from people when hearing what they don’t know or when asked to freestyle is “I don’t know what to do”. That’s 21yrs of real time experience telling you that. THAT in itself is the error. Excessive Movement matching to beats is the killer of freestyle. But I’ve said too much...see these are the things hundreds of classes at millennium, movement lifestyle, and many other studios don’t teach, but have HUGE followings, hence why so many don’t know. I could go into depth, but I’ll let people keep getting their education from choreographers, and UA-cam 🤷‍♂️ Some day people will stop learning dance backwards and training in styles backwards 🎩🙌

    • @tomotombo
      @tomotombo 4 роки тому

      @@professorbird1224 you can connect all day long but still miss some of the musicality. I know and hear what you are saying but I have about 24 yrs experience as well. Counting mainly is for timing to land on any beat. But you do not have to count at all. Shoot when I started I danced with no rhythm not knowing a thing about music and won battles in that way. But one of my friends who understood music let me know I didnt know a thing about music. Music is made with counts built in them even when felt. I'm only saying you can get away with movement/dance moves by the 1 and 2 and styled counts and still get away with being seen as if you have some type of musicality. But a experienced dancer will see this and understand you are not really working with the musicality while dancing. Not hearing the chances and the different things going on in a song.

    Yo, I was watching the Top 8, Fikshun vs Legit, and I was really surprised he won that cuz Legit smoked him up until the tie breaker which there shouldn't have even been. And I thought Clocks smoked him for sure. Clocks had better musicality, more ideas and concepts, a quicker wit for the rhythms. Fikshun kept the same flow every round but Clocks showed versatility. Fikshun impressed me maybe 3 times a round while Clocks was really connecting some things together and had whole rounds that were impressive. I learned from Clocks like 5 times during this battle, I learned from Fikshun once during this battle. Clocks smoked him for sure and I'll be watching out for Clocks in the future way more than I'll be watching for Fikshun.

      @@lildakafiction look, no disrespect. I actually said the same thing many commenters said, I just a gave full critique and sound reasonable opinion. I like Fikshuns work. Or possibly...YOUR work. I think Fikshun smoked JRock, and was a real champ about it while JRock acted like a lil bitch. Leading up to that battle I had my money on JRock, but Fikshun tore him a new one. Fikshun was one of my favorite dancers on SYTYCD and I feel he's taken his career to a much further level than the other contestants from that show. Everybody takes wins and losses...and I pay attention to the scene. The dance scene is full of alot of popularity and politics right now. I'm still a Fikshun fan. I look forward to his future work. I look forward to working with him in the future. His flow is well cultivated and his moves are better than nice, amazing at times. I'm not here to take jewels from his crown 👑. Even Fikshun didn't like how the judges pick winners sometimes, and his call-out of FlatTop is evident of that. I do my best to watch with a clean eye, and try my best not to be biased in my opinion. You can lol, but understand, I'm not the only comment saying what I said, I just gave proper reasoning. Laugh at an honest opinion...hmmm ok. I see what many dancers/viewers dont.

Just like there is no positive move Trump can make where some people go "I guess he did the right thing". Many Democrats will see every move as a bad move. It's the same in the dance world with some people. They let a dancers popularity be the deciding factor. Maybe they were afraid of being called out like FlatTop if they didn't choose Fik-shun and they didn't want to have to battle him just cuz they didn't pick him lol 😂

      lildakafiction umm I don’t HAVE to respect anyone’s decision or be bullied into doing so, and I didn’t even know who Clock was until now so I didn’t have a bias or “wanted” him to win as you so assuredly assumed with smugness, it’s just clear observation. And veteran or not the crowd can persuade a judge, because it turns out I’m a veteran in MY scene and I’ve seen it happen many times, you just don’t suddenly have immunity to it once you figure yourself “experienced” you still have to work on it. I use to have blind respect too for my veteran piers, but that shit never pays off, and you end up having to relearn how to be objective.
