if u look into the lore behind their songs its shocking. for starters, this song is basically a guy calling out for help because hes having trouble saving himself. the driver of the car is blurryface, one of the villains in the lore of their music. blurryface is a representation of negative thoughts. when the car falls apart it symbolizes tyler being dragged out of his dark place by music. and the drummer ,josh dun, drumming in the middle of the road symbolizes how close hes getting to being hurt by tyler while tylers in a dark place, but josh doesnt care he is more determined to get his friend out of the car. the line "death inspires me like a dog inspires a rabbit" is a nod towards tylers creative process: how tyler puts himself in a negative mind set in order to make better music.
