@@sauce-rt7fb It's not LEGO, it's an off-brand. Off-brands have been passing the license around for some time now, Mega Bloks picked it up almost immediately after LEGO and outclassed them with the license as soon as they could.
This is why I got this set. I got fed up with waiting for Lego to do it. The fan designer on Ideas submitted it twice and they didn't make it. They've now started selling the instructions online so I think they've given up. It's probably not a licence issue because SpongeBob is still allowed on Lego Ideas, Nickelodeon allowed this set to be made in China and fans have been wanting this set for years.
Holy cow this set is absolutely insane! The crazy amount of detail, the beautiful design of the restaurant with a full interior plus the easy accessibility! And the light brick too! And the extra additions such as the cars, sign, and dumpster. All the prints too. Around 2700 pieces for only $70! If Lego made this set, it would be nowhere as good and charge probably $300 more something this size. Really shows how much Lego is holding back to save money. I’m very glad that there is more and more alternative options, many from China!
These Area X sets always impress me with how good they look and how much effort is put into them. Definitely wouldn't mind picking them up if they were available stateside because they appeal much more to me as a LEGO alternative than MEGA does 😒
@@Starpotion They ship from the USA, so they are available stateside : ). From what I can tell, they are one if the first places to offer that option. I’ve only really ever seen this set on Aliexpress but even then, it’s about the same price. Only it just takes much longer to get here.
The figures outside of Plankton and the customers feel more like small scale action figures, they are really high quality and accurate but if I got this set I'd probably display it with the Lego figs. I appreciate the detailed altbricks review nonetheless, they're pretty hard to find on UA-cam and with how Lego does their copyright. I'd love if you can cover more of this kind of stuff since there's a lot of hidden gems like this that barely get covered since they're not Lego brand.
I wanna believe you could remake a similar krusty krab with lego, especially that cool technic technique (TECHNIQUE) on seeing the inside by pulling it out/roof opening-up
the animation of you putting your lego SpongeBob minifigure on the table was cute, I remember having one but I think the print was a bit faded. a SpongeBob product I still have in good condition was this square blocky toy from burger king years ago.
Pretty cool! Wish there was not necessarily LEGO etc but more so action figure play sets like in the original show, where SpongeBob has a bunch of buildings, figures and other items from the series

Crazy how Lego is considered top of the top with block building displays but to me this collab blows Lego out the water in small details. I feel like Lego likes to cut corners and not print/ create as many unique blocks which means that it lacks details in certain places because they used already made lego pieces to help fit the scene. It makes all of "Lego" look the same but the displays suffer in uniqueness for it.
I am honestly surprised he completely skipped over Mega considering the figures were leagues better than lego. I desperately wanted that doodle-bob blind bag figure!
I've got some old worn spongebob heads ive been so tempted to repaint into lego worlds troublemakers, but dont have the confidence to do the paintjob myself
those actually arent stickers, they are dry transfers and only for parts that cant be printer normally. my only complaint with them is some go over multiple pieces
I thought the same but I decided to give it a try because they offered PayPal and I figured if something went wrong, I'd just complain to PayPal. It all ended up okay. I live in the UK and I got the set. One bag was missing from the set and they sent that out separately within a few days before I'd even realised the set had it missing.
@@jondoesit1240 I can assure you the website is safe. The reason these knockoff lego websites feel weird is because the non western people who make them don’t tend to follow standard SEO rules when making e commerce websites. Also, the owner, Leo, is super nice and was really helpful when I made this video.
Lego had the licenses twice but barely did anything with it
I think it's a budget thing. Notice that the companies doing a good job with Spongebob are Mega and Area X. Cheaper parts, more budget for nice sets.
@@sauce-rt7fb It's not LEGO, it's an off-brand. Off-brands have been passing the license around for some time now, Mega Bloks picked it up almost immediately after LEGO and outclassed them with the license as soon as they could.
This would be like a $300 Lego set
Definitely should’ve looked liked the same scale as those rejected LEGO Ideas projects.
looks like a great set however it is suspicously very similar to a design that was submitted to lego ideas a few years before this released
Not really. Aside from sharing the same source material, the two sets are completely different in their build and techniques

The pineapple set shown briefly also looks like another fan submission
Taking Lego Ideas sets as a third-party block company is pretty genius. They can fill the same niche third-party Transformers do
Theft is expected, when supporting them... along with health risks, labor atrocities, general destabilization efforts, etc..💯
The way the roof works is amazing. If this was a real lego set, it would definitely be made so you just take the roof off, instead of moving like that

Which site did you get this set from?

Ok, but Osso, here's a justification to your bathroom complaint: They're fish, they don't need to wash their hands.

You can still get them online. I live in the UK and got this one

4:57 Ah, Troutenhimer and Harold. What classics.
I still can't believe that's what the blue Fred is called.
It was named in some trading card.

Actually using the rowboat piece for the boatmobile is brilliant actually
Don't really like how the piece for Plankton's antennae is a different color from the main body. The rest of the set seems cool, though.
Well, it’s a different color because his antennae is a darker green than the olive green plankton has on his body
7:09 Mr. Krabs hands were actually grey on the minifigure
The yu gi oh sets are also area X!
The sets that these guys make are really cool
the animation of you putting your lego SpongeBob minifigure on the table was cute, I remember having one but I think the print was a bit faded.
a SpongeBob product I still have in good condition was this square blocky toy from burger king years ago.
I actually really enjoy the stop motion bionicle moc and tbh that was the main thing I clicked on for xd
Honestly this set looks like it was designed more for the original lego spongebob minifigs rather than the ones it came with.
Pretty cool! Wish there was not necessarily LEGO etc but more so action figure play sets like in the original show, where SpongeBob has a bunch of buildings, figures and other items from the series
As a LEGO purist I seriously might consider buying this.. SpongeBob is just a favourite
This is the first video of yours I've watched and the fact you use a stop motion Bionicle instead of a png or something is fucking awesome
“Sponge?”

This is all we ever want from Lego.
I agree with you. No knockoff versions, just remakes of the official LEGO sets because I missed out on them.

Do you have any of the Mega Bloks Spongebobs? I loved those but never got a Krusty Krab, so curious how this scales.
I am honestly surprised he completely skipped over Mega considering the figures were leagues better than lego. I desperately wanted that doodle-bob blind bag figure!
this set was definitely created with passion
I've got some old worn spongebob heads ive been so tempted to repaint into lego worlds troublemakers, but dont have the confidence to do the paintjob myself
the amount of times i went "omg lego sucks ass compared to this" is crazy
I mean this looks really real like is this the next lego spongebob set that's coming out? I'll buy that
As a railfan I wish Lego could make the trains cheaper
those actually arent stickers, they are dry transfers and only for parts that cant be printer normally. my only complaint with them is some go over multiple pieces
That's actually really damn cool
When I was looking at it on the website all of the figures hands are blurred out
I think the idea of the set was to use the lego mini figs, but they give u those minifigs if you don't have the lego mini figs
I probably would get this and use the official Lego figures for space and consistency
Want to buy and it’s the right price but website looks scammy and weird. Thoughts?

Tbh all Chinese websites look like that for some reason

If I purchase this without the box like the website suggests does it just come in bags?
No Sandy? HARDPASS!
Spongebob
Amazing stuff
Why no comparison with the Mega bloks spongebob line?
You can scan/upload the instructions :)
The flying Dutchman is in Davy Jones locker
And yet no secret formula
It's so weird miniso has not mcx SpongeBob sets and blind box builds.
What happened to the site?
Was I the reason Lego SpongeBob stopped being made
But there _was_ a Lego Krusty Krab.
No swear on the dumpster😢
Is the krabby patty sticker upside down?
Hey man I don't know why I'm here, So I will just let myself out then.
sprues* not spews*
Got a spare $250 I can have for this??
pls ramble
