Hello, I've heard you talk about how it was done, and it makes perfect sense to me.
🕊From what I have seen and watched on tv, like Dateline etc. Padre Pio is a Saint people pray and ask his help when a child is sick, very sick. I find that extremely comforting, and keeps the parents & loved ones focused on strength

Nail went in palm as wrists where tied to cross with rope to support weight of body so dying proces would linger. A nail through the wrist would rupture an artery and victim bleed to death quick. May even have torn away from cross. Nail went in palm symbolically like thorn crown to humiliate and agonise. Stygmata site in palm is correct.

I had thought this too, i.e. that the stigmata were in the wrong place! Padré Pio mat have been a genuine Christian mystic but I believe his stigmata were a manifestation caused by his extreme empathy.
