    I've been at it on RedBubble for less than a year so far and I still have just one store, very much a general store where I am learning the ropes and experimenting. It hasn't brought in a ton of sales yet, but I did sell enough to get my first payment a couple of days ago and I'm happy about that. One thing I've noticed is that favorites and sales rarely seem to align for me! A design can get several favorites but never sell, and one can sell without a single favorite, or sell more than it gets favorited. I don't know if having a "brand" would help. I don't have a social media presence, so I don't know how important my storefront even is. I imagine people mostly just find the design by searching something relevant rather than browsing my store.

    I like your approach on this. It's like going to school. Get you general subject matter down. Find your major or majors then use your experience to niche down.
    Thanks as always, very informative. 👍🤙🖊

    Thank you! I've been doing this for a couple years. I have a general store too for all the random ideas I have. It's the one with the most sales, though not nearly what you have.

    I love this kind of video, and I generally find them useful. However, another thing I think also plays into these matters, that I don't see or hear you tracking, is how long the store has been around. At some point, I think it would be helpful if you'd do an episode that incorporates that metric, as well as the others you track.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      It's a good point - the longer the store is around, definitely that would help in terms of ability to rank. New stuff does rank in search but time is certainly an asset!

    I agree about the multiple store idea. For instance, if I wanted to have pro-Democrat designs and pro-Republican store I really wouldn't want them in the same store. My mind is all over the place and my ideas collectively would make a confusing mess in one store. I plan on starting with one store targeting one niche to get started. Working on designs now! Thanks for the info. As always a great and informative video.

    I find RB's collections very useful for grouping designs, but you can only show many so collections at a time in the carousel on your shop's front page.
    And it's probably unrealistic to expect a customer to scroll through the list to get to the later more buried collections.
    Also doesn't help that collections are limited to 100 designs only.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому

      Agreed - I think the 100 limit is far too low!

    It's better to create to account on multiple print on demand account rather than on creating mutiple store on one print on demand site what you say

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому

      I think you are asking if it is better to have a print on demand portfolio spread out over multiple platforms (like Redbubble, Teepublic, Merch by Amazon, etc.)? I think it totally depends on how much time and effort you want to put in (I found that any more than 4 platforms at once for me is a bit too much work). But everyone has their own preferences (maybe I will do more if my job changes someday for example).

    Hello I have a question I opened my second redbubble account I changed home address it is ok to put different city and zip code to your second shop??? I opened the store5 days ago and my designs haven't shown up yet

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 місяці тому

      I guess you could, but what is the point of changing the home address on a seller account? Typically no one would care where you are located unless you are showing which country you are from. What is the benefit of having a different address in the shop?

    Well I have not multiple stores but I do have other stores on redbubble but they already know that after they took one of my stores down even before it was taken, and then came back and said it was their fault for taking it down and that I can use that account, but I also have a store in teepublic, and then found out the designs I created on teepublic were being stolen and put on redbubble, and the best part since Redbubble owns teepublic they took care of some of them but I found out by me keep trying to take them down they would just create newer accounts and put them back up again. It became a nightmare, so basically I got to the point where I just don't care about it no more and just going to keep designing.

    This is a very interesting strategy. I noticed in the video that you referred to having not only different E-mail addresses for each store but different paypal accounts also. Why is this necessary? Is it against Redbubble rules to have more than one account? (Having multiple paypal accounts sounds like a pain in the neck.) Thanks!

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      You are totally right - it is not necessary. Redbubble does allow multiple accounts with the same PayPal email. So I just happen to have multiple PayPal emails with different business ventures so I have used them in relation to different stores, but you definitely don't have to.

  • @TheTalcoChannel

    Before I attempt this I have two questions- Do you HAVE to use separate PayPal accounts for each store and Will I get a copyright strike if I upload a duplicate design on another one of my own stores?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      Hey there - you can have 2 Redbubble shops with the same PayPal info (but no more than 2). So if you want 10 stores, you need at least 5 completely separate PayPal addresses (which is tricky, because PayPal doesn't like you having more than a couple of PayPal addresses). You wouldn't get a copyright strike automatically if you uploaded the same design to both stores, although Redbubble's bots may see it and flag it (because it doesn't want the same design all over the store, like spamming customers).

  • @NiazMohammad
    @NiazMohammad Рік тому

    So, when you say to open up with different emails and payment addresses, does that imply one person can have only 1 account? I actually have two with the same info. Does that violate their TOCs?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  Рік тому

      My understanding is that 2 is the limit, so in theory 3 would violate.

    Hi Zen, on one of your previous video u talked about having multiple stores / multiple PAYPAL accounts. I do understand it is possible for multiple store is that the same case for PAYPAL tho ?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      PayPal lets you have 2 accounts (one business and one personal). You can have more if you link the other account to other bank accounts - admittedly this can be alot more work than it is worth. RB does let sellers have multiple accounts linked to the same PayPal account.

      I've heard conflicting information so in my opinion, it is not worth the risk. I have multiple PayPal accounts and just have each store tied to a different email and PayPal.

    How do you get around giving your actual first and last name for each account?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      I just put in Zen Watercooler as my name (or Crafty Stax, or Bippy Clownman, Bruce Wayne, etc). No one really cares (at least no one has ever told me otherwise) - as long as the email is different, my opinion is you can put in whatever you want (it's not like Displate where they tie your name to a legal document like a passport).

    How can I have multiple store if even one store second time got banned without a reason right after opening? 🙁

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому

      I don’t know how to answer that because I don’t know the reason you were banned. I would suggest asking Redbubble why you were banned, it might have nothing to do with your store (or maybe you used the same information, email, community standards, etc.)

    Favourites count for nothing as there are bots people use (100's per day) to select favourites in anticipation for a return to raise their items in the algorithm. One of my stores does not have many items but a lot of multiple favourites (more than 2 per item) from the same group of people, another has good sales but 0 favourites.

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому

      I think you are right - more and more I am seeing that favorites are not closely correlated to sales. Again the robots are wrecking things for the rest of us!

    I was wondering, would it be possible (and also profitable) to have a mugs only RB store so to speak. No other items listed but mugs (and might as well have tumblers activated also)

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +2

      I personally don't think there is any value add to limiting the products - it's relatively easy to put one design on 80+ products. You could certainly try it but I don't think mugs are a huge repeat purchase that would drive a branded store? My opinion only!

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому +1

      Yes I totally admit I have more than 2 PayPal addresses - I know that is not for everyone (it takes extra work and linking them to different bank accounts, etc. takes time) but PayPal will let you have 2 accounts (one business and one personal) and Redbubble does let sellers link multiple stores to the same PayPal address anyway.

      @@zenwatercooler Thx for that ... the only issue would be if a store got taken down ..would it affect the bank or paypal on same account of your other stores or only the store with issue. It seems a grey area on POD with RB?

    But you can't have multiple Paypal accounts, only two, one personal one business?

    • @zenwatercooler
      @zenwatercooler  2 роки тому

      Yes that is true - but you can set up other PayPal accounts (with different email addresses and link them to different PayPal accounts). At some point it becomes a bit too much work, but you can definitely run with two PayPal accounts to try it out. Redbubble also says that they allow multiple stores (even if the same PayPal account) and I have definitely found that to be true as well.

    • @MarinaArtDesign
      @MarinaArtDesign 2 роки тому

      @@zenwatercooler That is what I meant. You can have multiple RB accounts with same PayPal, just different emails. And for paypal verification you need to have a bank account. Also you can't use same account for more paypals, so people will need to have multiple bank accounts for multiple Paypals.

      @@MarinaArtDesign I know that with Ally Bank, I can add additional checking and savings accounts in just minutes because I've done so. Probably a lot of other banks make it just as easy (especially the online only banks).
