When I listen to modern Hip Hop and than compare it to MJ's music, it is like MJ had a completely different trajectory in mind for what Hip Hop would look like. People like to say "MJ's music is so different." I think what people are saying really is a big question mark for what Hip Hop had turn into after MJ and dumbfounded on how the genre completely pivot away the style of Michael Jackson's music.
