This is great, and super helpful. I'm new to jetskis, and I have a cheap project seadoo I picked up that needs the pto and shaft replaced. Thanks for taking the time to post this!
Hi, where you able to remove the PTO from your 97 GTI without removing the engine? seems like every video I've seen, people took the engine out to remove the PTO. And if you were able to remove it while the engine was still in the hull, how hard was it to come off?
Appreciate you uploading the video like you said there’s not much videos on these kinds of boats. If there’s anyway you can forward me the website where you got your information owners manual about this boat last year and not sure which oil we’re supposed to put in it
Great info. Just wanted to add that using an impact, while tempting, is a big no no! It destroys crank bearings or significantly reduces the usable life they have left. Sadly heat and breaker bars are about the only good way to go.
Thanks for taking the time to post this video Randy. I have the exact same boat and just recently purchased it as well so kind of a newbie with Seadoo boats. I’d love to chat with you offline somehow on what I am experiencing with mine. You might be on to something here.
Brad Bowman sorry it’s taken so long to respond it’s been a busy week. Hope the video has helped. As for chatting offline if you feel comfortable enough posting an email up on here we can then get in touch and share numbers.
Thanks for the video. One quick question. I have a Seadoo gtx jet ski that is leaking oil in that has an oil leak from that area. Did you notice if there a seal from the motor to the PTO? Just curious. I haven't started digging into it yet.
hey randy where did you get the new flywheel from? i need one for my 98 speedster but cant find them avilable for purchase anywhere. SBT doesnt have them listed on the website
Thanks. I just make these videos from time to time in hopes they help someone. It’s been a while since I did this project and can’t remember exactly how much the parts cost but I do remember I bought them from www.shopsbt.com/SFNT.html I do remember having to call them though because I couldn’t find them on the website. Also if you have Facebook there is a few groups that have tons of information and knowledge people that can help with questions.

Excellent video, thank you Randy. It really helped me out with the PTO removal on my '97 GTI.

Thanks for making this video. I have a similar issue with my 99 GTX LTD. I'll look for another video on removing the drive shaft.
This has been really helpful for my own 787/800 drive system rebuild - thank you!
SmashGhost glad it helped

How you make the oil change on that engine?
That's a 2 stroke engine. Does not have engine oil. Runs with 2 stroke oil mixed with gasoline.
Super movie. Where can I buy all the parts ?? and how much did they cost ?? Thank you for the information
