My headcanon is that this is blasted in the Hellpod during every dive.
It might as well; in game It plays when you dive and has you land on a hard end note.

This theme totally hooked me. I just wanted to try the new friendly fire co-op game with my brothers and found myself immeasurablely charmed by the tutorial and opening propaganda broadcast. When we did our first drop and the pods fired one after the other with that music kicking in I was in awe that this $40 game had given me such an epic mission load scene. My heart was literally flooded with democracy!

I know the game is a parody of heroism and patriotism, but the song makes me feel like a genuine hero. I put it up there with legendary themes like The Avengers, Robocop and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
That's the idea. The game mocks the over the top mentality of certain countries that claim to be champions of democracy, but whose actions are antithetical. Meanwhile, their propaganda, jargon, and music are not only a recruiting tool, but also a way of keeping their current troops complying and brainwashed. It's easy to feel heroic and patriotic when you don't know why you were actually there and how it started.
The music and theme actually makes me wish that Super Earth really was the good guys. I would love a version of HD where we were really were fighting a defensive war, trying to hold ground and build up to defend ourselves from multiple existential threats. Do away with all of the classism stuff, the whole "Super Earth is the Jewel of the Galaxy" bit, and make the communal efforts genuine.

Great theme to play as you launch into every mission! Has the right buildup and hype to get you in the mood for every dive.
the incidental music during missions is unique to each faction, and it's coordinated with in-game action.

Helldivers have had some horrendous losses so far for sure. 1.18 billion helldivers dead, with 42.8 million of those being on Malevelon Creek alone.

This piece of music is so much better than it has any right to be! The strin runs up to the choir gets me EVERY time... Wilbert cranked this up to 11, thats for sure! Remember our fallen brothers and sisters of Malevelon Creek... *salutes*
It's funny you mention the ost being cranked up to 11 because if you look at the audio settings you actually can set volume levels to 11.

You know, I can’t think of a time before this song dropped, its one of those songs that you feel like you’ve heard when you were a kid in dodgeball or kickball
you 100% have to react to the extraction theme its fully modular and has 14 minutes of different interchangeable segments
Charging into an epic battle like you are invincible, the going gets tough and you are not invincible, through the might of the super-earth forces you emerge victorious, you return to the vast emptiness of space to contemplate that the battle was won, but the war is never over, and from there you warp into the distance to carry out the will of democracy and liberty! What a story.
Suggestion: One other piece of music from Helldivers 2 to react to? "Extraction"

Heard the first one, and it's good, but I disagree, I like this one better.
My mates set the drop immediately after the build up as a sound in discord. We play it anytime one of us joins ANY game we play and arrive as reinforcements after game start.
E.g. Remnant 2 there was a mini boss that spawned and we struggled to kill it as my bro is DPS my mate the tank and I'm the healer. Was just me and tank against this thing and barely damaging it.
