Tendley Quarry based at Brigham, Cockermouth, Cumberland and is run by Tarmac.
The quarry dates back to the 19th century but stopped operating full-time in the 1960s but is now back to working 24 hrs a day. The limestone recently provided asphalt for the Distington bypass.
