- This one was in the pocket. Groovy, steezy, and effortless. Probably one of my favorite dance pieces from him so far. Shout outs to Antoine Troupe for working on this one!

My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but my foundation also includes minor areas in ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.

The best part about watching Daniel's dancing is that he makes everything look so smooth and effortless and then you go see the same dance covered by others and it's never the same. Some add too much power, some make it too messy by not finishing the steps properly, some just don't have enough power.
Daniel has such good control over his moves, he knows exactly when to add power, when to make it soft n feathery. It's really a pleasure to watch his performances with so much finesse, elegance, and style.
Agreed, it's not too much added to this choreography. It's just the right amount of execution!

I remember when he released this, I was actually sooo shocked because HE WAS A RAPPER during produce101 s2 and Wanna One. He came back as a vocalist. The growth in just a span of 6-7mos is unbelievable since he was still battling with his former label.

This song means a lot to Danity (his fandom's name). It was the beginning of his new journey after the long wait (At that moment we didn't even know if he would be able to continue his career in the entertainment industry or not. I'm glad that he can make it). The album is like an introduction of the color series. From the interview, he said that he wanted to show us the different side of him, the other color s of him that we didn't see when he promoted as wanna one. And we were really surprised that he turned to be a vocalist instead of rapper and he also showed his natural side instead of the darker side of his image that we got use to.

Konnect was still a baby at this point. the album was made in just a month coz he didn't want his fans to wait longer, so most of his songs
What Are You Up To, I Hope, and Intro was choreographed by foreign choreographers, except Horizon which was choreographed by one of his dancers Shingyulim
Yup, daniel made this album and founded his company at the same time while they were still battling his former company in court.
at this point, the court grants the suspension of his exclusive contract which made him free to do whatever he wants.
but the battle to terminate the contract was still ongoing
So imagine doing everything all at the same time... a pretty amazing kid right and so brave too...
imagine a rookie standing up to fight for his right against a company that is under a big company.
well as you started from waves and paranoia you may agree that all the hardships were all worth it!

Thank you so much for your reaction to WAYUT. If my memory didn't get it wrong, Antoine came to SK for about 2 days and taught Daniel and his dancer team the choreography(i think ingyoo got along with him the most of time). They spend all 2 days in the practice room except eat and sleep for the song. Daniel once said Antoine liked korean fried chicken a lot 😂 and bcos of the jet lag, he sometimes fell asleep in the practice room.😂 Many thanks for your reaction.

Daniel is playful regardless of the situation he is in, he just laugh out his hardships he was in at that time, but he worked double hard to move on and do more and improve more. Oh I love him. A little backstory on this. Its been 6 months since he was battling his former agency and he won the first trial so he was free of his company (and of course because of pride, the company filed for 2nd hearing which he again won) and decided to create his own company. Since he doesnt want the fans to wait some more, he worked with Devine Channel and had most if not all songs from this EP from the library Devine channel has. He worked on this album to be released for only a month.
As per the choreographer you mentioned, he went to Korea to meet with them and Daniel met him too. I remember he mentioned in one of his Vlive that he liked korean fried chicken 😂
By the way, he started as a rapper with no vocal or rap training from his former former company (the one before wanna one) so you can tell his singing is close to his speaking voice in this EP but he started getting vocal training during the Cyan EP and his voice has improved immensely 😁💓
Yeahh in Wanna One he was more of the rapper in the group, so it's interesting to hear his vocal colors as a soloist. And thanks again for the insight! =)

The song was produced by Devine Channel and the MV are all made symbolic for what happened to him during his hiatus when he was in a legal dispute thats why its memorable . He was suddenly cannot communicate with his fans thats why its titled What are you up to ? I love that we went to see again daniels song thru a reactor who knows a lot about dances & music because Daniels forte is performance & loves dancing a lot . We learned a lot from your reaction 🥰. whats funny is you went back and you saw how beautiful his music from the start , for us we saw his development. I was really looking forward to your reaction to this one because it is so smooth and is so different than other kpop choreographies. Even though the dance doesn't "go hard" and isn't "in your face" it requires this groove that is really rare to find in kpop dancers. Also it's hard to get it right, some of the covers I've seen even by good dancers don't do it justice. Thank you as always for your videos!
It's the authenticity behind the movement that is hard. And I agree with you, we don't get to see this much of a "groove" that is present in modern-day kpop!
