Really, the source of hypocrisy, at least in my opinion, is the prevalence of Islam in the state. There should be a separation of religion and state just like in Turkey; then a true Muslim free society can grow.
yassine ben ahmed Tunisians are not Arabs. They are Mediterranean, of Phoenician origin. He should be a role model. Both peoples are connected to the land, have destinct, beautiful cultures and should be have the right to live there in peaceful coexistence.
A Jew from Brooklyn should have the right to live in Israel? A Jew whose ancestors were evicted from Jerusalem centuries upon centuries ago has a right to "return," but a Palestinian whose dad or grandfather was evicted by some Polish dude does not have the right to return? Peaceful "coexistence" means submission and slavery to 2nd class status.
I've spoken to a Palestinian few years back- think he was a student- and he basically said the same thing as this man, he has Jewish friends, wants an Israeli ID- not only to work, he also wants Israeli liberal freedoms for his sisters and himself (he's Gay)- for now it's not possible with current political climate and conservative Islam in Palestinian society.
@Ahmed Elmamlook He learns it because he lives with the Arabs. He also makes music in hebrew and in one of his videos you saw Arabs wearing the Palestinian scarf. I'm glad not everyone thinks like you so maybe there will be peace one day
I’m Arab and Muslim and this guy is 100% correct. I hope more people are like him in both. In Islam we the real Muslims believe that if someone hates or wants to kill people just because of their race or religion YOU are not a Muslim.
But there are bad people in every religion, because everyone sins to varying degrees. I am Jewish. One of the ten commandments is to not murder, but I can't simply say that a Jew who murdered someone is not a real Jew because I'm afraid that people will associate all Jews with him.

It seems to me this guy is right on in his assessment. Arabs are very much structured as an honour society. If you do anything to bring perceived dishonour to your family or the society or accepted religious views you can be killed. This is not just in Arabic society but in other Eastern and African systems. On top of that Palestinians as are many other ethnic groups in the region are built around tribal culture. This is top down and you must comply or be ostracised or shunned. Then you add a religious regime on top of all that. Islam translated to English means submission literally. The individual cannot be permitted to deviate from the established decrees of religious authority sometimes as the penalty of death. This is a huge obstacle and even leaders who might think out of the box are doomed.
I respect this guy so much and as an arab can say that he is the voice of many people who seek peace between jews and arabs. I understand that Israel and some Arab countries have been at war, had conflicts, killed people ...etc And it is hard for many on both sides to forget or maybe forgive. But war brings only war, killing brings more killing, and hate feeds on hate. This can never end by wanting revenge or whatever excuse we use so we don't surrender 'our cause'. It could be religion, or nationalism ... or anything. But I do not believe that religion itself is bad or a nation itself is evil. Anything (technology, money, power..) could be used to justify, finance, and promote anything. People will always have different beliefs, support different theories, different football teams; I even met someone who doesn't like F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and it's fine. Because regardless of our differences we are all people who want to be happy, discover life, live new experiences and tell those stories to our friends, children, grandchildren ... What unites us is greater than all the differences that separate us. I am not preaching, I am not wiser than anyone else. I am just guy who is tired from all the fights and who seeks nothing but peace, laughs, friendships and love. George from Lebanon

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Israelis need to learn Levantine Arabic, it's not that hard, it just take practice, and is closer to Hebrew in its structure; Subject-Verb-Object. Also, like Israeli Hebrew, its lazier in its grammatical usage in everyday life.

Well, as an Arab, I agree about 90% of what he said about Arab culture, it's very strict and it puts pressure on people who think differently, indeed. But the part that i don't agree with is that Arabs love Israel or want Israel ID, we love Jews, but we hate Israel as a government, because occupation can't just be forgave. anyway, I believe in peace between Palestinians and Israelis, but not if they still treat Palestinians/Israelis as second-class people.
I know right? I told a lot of people that I know JEWS ARE NOT JUST ISRAELIS AND ISRAELIS ARE NOT JUST JEWS, but because of the ancient roots of this problem in 1947 I guess, people here no longer differentiate jews from israel. when I was a kid the first thing that comes to my mind when I hear the word "Jew" was Israel and it's crimes in Palestine. thankfully I used my mind by the time and I knew the difference.
Ask the people of Um-El-Fahem if they are willing to give up their Israeli ID and citizenship to be Palestinian citizens instead. This is one of the most complexed conflict in the world and people from another countries cant grasp the problem
as a half palestinian american, i honestly agree with him. he had plenty of good points and he stated them respectfully. this gives me hope that a lot of israelis are like this. i agree with him about the palestinian government and in some places the all around culture can be very close minded and they always have to be right. but i also think that they are being killed and just want it to end and blame all israelis for the pain their going through but truly it’s just the military. i honestly just want it to end. if more people would learn about history, they would know that there was a time, a long time ago when palestinian arabs and jewish Israelites lived together in peace in the holy land. the holy land is holy for muslims jews and christians alike so i think that we should all be able to live there in peace. the ancient israelites and ethnic jews ( not including European jews ) and arabs are both semitic based and descendants of abraham’s sons.
He goes from a beautiful beautiful Central iraqi dialect to a Palestinian levantine dialect. even for the Israeli nation I believe that the dialect that's closest to Torah and talmud will be the most successful in the long run cuz it'll be associated in the way of purity like fus7a/classical Arabic (iraqi.) Mizrahim should return to speaking Arabic at home. There's no need to ever question their loyalty. They have survived hundreds of caliphs. I did notice that speaking Hebrew loosens them up. Good thing to have both like Yiddish as a second.
A very clear statement. It’s sad we can almpst never hear positive and constructive voices from the Arab world. Hypocrisy is not only an Arab issue. I’m Turkish and I love what Murathan Mungan (a well-knows Turkish poet) says about this: “Turkey’s official religion is hypocrisy.” I’m not happy saying that but hypocracy is very popular in muslim societies. They’re not aware of it though. Islam requires unconditional surrender.
I agree with the man's sentiments but not with his analysis of "Arab culture". His experience of contact with the Palestinians is of an oppressed people living under a military occupation. This is not conducive to a free and open society. Change will happen, but with the end of oppression. On the other hand, I'm impressed that he is fluent in Arabic, refers to the Qur'an (Al-Karim) with respect, and can even quote from it in Arabic.
Of course, but what about his opinion on the jews in Jerusalem that oblige their women and children and other people around to not so funny things...or about the occupation and lack of freedom that his "friends" has to live under? ...I am not saying he did not say some facts, but he is surely not looking at the whole picture to judge rightfully...
I wish I knew Arabic like him. If all Israelis knew arabic and even try to understand our neighbours better, things would be different. I don't know if there would be peace necessarily, but I'm pretty sure things would've been better.

But you cant blame the palistinains for taking great offense if one of their own people says "i love isreal" when isreal has stolen their land and murdered many of their civilians (not saying its right) but in the end isreal and Palistine are enemies. Its like stating why would the Japanese not allow a Japanese say "i love america" back when america nuked them (not the most accurate comparison).
Azzam, You can't blame Israelis for killing Palestinian militants when they did pogroms, wars and terrorists attacks. They also participated in the Holocaust. Judea and Sameria will never be an Arab country. It is historically and legally part of Israel. You are right, we are enemies, that is why Israelis should expel most of the Arabs to Jordan/East Palestine. If you can't say to Israelis "I love you" pack your bags and leave.
@@berly9397 actually mate those Palistinian fighters have a right to defend their land. Isreal year after year stole and occupied their land. Palistinans in general are not terrorists. Your just consumed by propaganda and are generalising them. Yes there are some minorities that do harm to civilians and its bad. But the same could be said for isreal. And palistine never participated in the holocaust! Where did you get that information? In the end we are enemies... but it doesnt mean the Palestinian should "pack up and leave" because they dont love you hahaha, and make it easier for you to take more of their land. Try and have some logic in your answers..
@@3ezzo829 I am Israeli and grew up there, so I understand the situation. Its their land but its also not their land. Its all a question of perspective. In general most Arabs moved to west Palestine at the end of the 19th century so they do not have routes on this land and do not own it. Also, the League of Nations gave all of West Palestine to the Jewish people. You need to look this up!!! No one told the Arabs not to move to East Palestine/ Jordan. Is there a problem? Its more than 3 times the size of West Palestine. Judea and Sameria was illegally occupied by Jordan and that is how it got the name "West bank." You seem like a logical person, so I really would like us to come to a logical agreement, ok? Did you hear about Haj amin al Hussaini (Mufti of Jerusalem)? Did you know that he recruited Muslim-Nazi SS Divisions during WWII? The founding father of the Palestinians worked for Hitler. Listen to what this "settler" says and listen well. Israel is a free society and we can express ourselves freely. We have different colors, different views, different opinions, different voices....its all ok. We are not all the same and we don't think that Palestinians are all the same. But when a Palestinian slaughters Israeli civilians, even children he gets a gold medal from Mahmoud Abbas, but if an Israeli did this to Arab civilians they will throw him in jail. That is the difference; even the "moderate" Palestinians leaders are involved in terrorism. That is why Peace talks will never work. "In the end we are enemies", exactly, that is why you/they should leave! Except those that can come out and tell Israelis that they love them. The Druze love us and we love them back! Even if they wanted to leave, we would want them to stay.
@@berly9397 mate im gonna answer you i just have a bit of a busy life. I havent disappeared dont worry. First of all Arabs/ muslims definitly have routes in Palistine. If you take the aqsa mousque for example! It was built in 1313! In comparison Mecca (where muslims go do pilgrimage) was built in 1380! So these were LONG ago. Second of all, it was the united kingdom who gave Palistine away to the jewish people to create Isreal (the balfour declaration) and everyone knows here they had no right giving away someone elses land. Jews, Christian amd muslims lived together in peace when it was Palistine long before Jewish soldiers came along and won the war, expelled many palistinians and started to occupy more and more land.

For the record, if a hebrew speaker wants to learn Arabic or vice versa it's a lot easier than for example an english speaker learning hebrew.. Structurally and grammatically there are many similarities between the arabic and hebrew.. Only big challenge is dialect and pronunciation really. For example th "s" sound in arabic would be an "sh" in Hebrew.
That makes sense, we have the same with Dutch and German. Even though I realize this man had it easier learning Arabic than I would if I tried, I still think it's wonderful he actually made the effort to learn the language. Do you know anything about how many Israeli Jews learn Arabic?
@@MK-rk4no Thanks for your reply! Is it a popular subject? Is it well taught? This is done on purpose to frustrate them and set groups up against each other, so they're easier to control.

Arabs colonized all of Middle East and North Africa and tried to colonize Europe till they were stopped in Vienna in 1683. Let's not pretend that they were the only people who had lived in today's Israel. They only showed up there in the 6th century. Jews had bee living there for a thousand years before the Arabs invaded. Moreover they had a sovereign state, kings, prophets, currency. Where are the Palestinian kings? Ahmed Gypsy King Adam "Israelis make the most Illegal settlements" That's because Israelis have more permits to go by, so it only makes sense. Unlike the Palestinians, Israelis have to have a security permit. Which is the missing one in most cases. Not to mention the various settlements built on Israel's sovereign land, which is illegal under international law. "it is Originally Their land" That depends on what you mean when you say that. Which is anyway not true, either way, since the Palestinians also build on land that never belonged to them at any point in time. I am in complete agreement with the gentleman who speaks, the big problem of the Arabs is deprived of the right to express their opinion freely but despite the fact that this right exists in my country TUNISIA we are the only Arab country Democrat And freedom of expression (Article 19) and conscience (Article 6) is guaranteed by the constitution but there is the problem of hypocritis, I know many liberals friends are with the peace process between israel and palestine But in front of the camera they will change their opinions fears that the other neighboring countries treat us like traitors
It just happens that the majority of the population is Muslim and practice Arabic culture --- Until it adopts the clear separation between State and Religion, like in my country, the U.K. , it is not a truly democratic country. It is progressing to become one, though.
@@miriamsackler5002 You're right, technically, but most tunisians, libyans, moroccans or algerians identify as arabs, since they've adopted arab culture, language and religion.
Gunners1886 Very true. But as a British National with residence in North Africa, I found this very peculiar. The best preserved Roman monuments are in Libya and Morocco, the Vollubilis. Hercules cave is in Tangier, and Lixus, the city where Hercules searched for the golden apple is present day L’arrache (Lixus)...... My house in Tangier is facing a Phoenician cemetery from 500 BC, from where we can see Spain at a distance. It is a version of Arab culture that the Wahhabis from Saudi Arabia hate the most: With a thoroughly Hellenistic past and looking decidedly North as barometer of progress.

His Arabic is good. I'm not a native speaker, but I studied Modern Standard for 3.5 years and lived in Lebanon for a year so I learned some Lebanese. He speaks with a legit Palestinian accent. He has very, very slight Hebrew intonation here and there, but otherwise, to my non-expert ear, he's really good.

I have serious doubts he's actually involved with intelligence.

But in almost all Palestinian communities when a terrorist comes back home they are celebrated and praised for their actions.

He is not right
This is Abu Table! he’s famous now
It seems to me this guy is right on in his assessment.

@@g--br1el985 totally agree. Part of the process of reconciliation and peace must come from the bottom up, not top down. Ya habibi, what makes you think this man is Ashkenazi? He looks like Sepharadic/Mizrahi. Over 65% of Israeli Jews are like that
Well, as an Arab, I agree about 90% of what he said about Arab culture, it's very strict and it puts pressure on people who think differently, indeed.
What does this have to do with the subject? but I'll answer anyway. NO.
Ask the people of Um-El-Fahem if they are willing to give up their Israeli ID and citizenship to be Palestinian citizens instead.
The current Israeli secretary of defense (Avigdor Liberman) has proposed that when a peace agreement will be negotiated between the Palestinians and the Israelis, instead of evacuating some of the major settlements in the west bank, Israel will offer the Palestinians land swaps.

as a half palestinian american, i honestly agree with him. he had plenty of good points and he stated them respectfully. this gives me hope that a lot of israelis are like this. i agree with him about the palestinian government and in some places the all around culture can be very close minded and they always have to be right. but i also think that they are being killed and just want it to end and blame all israelis for the pain their going through but truly it’s just the military. i honestly just want it to end. if more people would learn about history, they would know that there was a time, a long time ago when palestinian arabs and jewish Israelites lived together in peace in the holy land. the holy land is holy for muslims jews and christians alike so i think that we should all be able to live there in peace. the ancient israelites and ethnic jews ( not including European jews ) and arabs are both semitic based and descendants of abraham’s sons.

I agree with alot of things this man says as an arab myself. And freedom of speech is a valuable right that everyone should have.
Judea and Sameria was illegally occupied by Jordan and that is how it got the name "West bank."
You seem like a logical person, so I really would like us to come to a logical agreement, ok?

This is done on purpose to frustrate them and set groups up against each other, so they're easier to control.

Arabs colonized all of Middle East and North Africa and tried to colonize Europe till they were stopped in Vienna in 1683. Let's not pretend that they were the only people who had lived in today's Israel. They only showed up there in the 6th century. Jews had bee living there for a thousand years before the Arabs invaded. Moreover they had a sovereign state, kings, prophets, currency. Where are the Palestinian kings? What was the capital city of "Palestine"? It was never a country before. It's a creation of the 60s, and the main Palestinian leader of all times is Yasser Arafat who, guess what, was Egyptian.

His comments are spot on please listen to what he says
Beautiful words. Im very Sufi minded in my Judaism myself. I identify as being somewhat Jufi (jew-sufi). I consider Rumi to be a righteous noachide tzaddikim like Iyov (Job).
Sufism is part of Islam not a separate identity.
@@AnthonyBoile I agree but as a pluralist I can't imagine not being a student of the daily juz, and Sufi wisdom has always resonated with me as all paths of mysticism and coherent philosophy and moral theology has. I tend to think of Sufi thought as the perennial bridge to Ummah culture, just as many universal themes in Kabbalah branch out from my shomer mitzvot culture. Like a plant growing through a maze toward the common light- but also in origin, wisdom of all cultures emerging from the same inspiration managing to channel sefirotic/Intelligent Energy even as context provides individual expression; as search for wisdom grows in polarity and maturity all paths have their destiny at the peak of the mountain I think. That's just my view. I can't help but follow 'Who is wise? He who learns from all'.
Much respect for this guy and his Palestinian friend
This is the best video and it illustrates the problem 1000% - peace will not be easy in the Holy Land

Can someone please explain what occupation the Palestinians in the comments keep talking about? Because the Palestinians haven't been under occupation since the Oslo accords were signed...
it's psychological
Yitzchak Epstein
it's the Illegal settlements,
And possibly the Check points
Ahmed Gypsy King Adam Which illegal settlements? The Israeli or the Palestinian?
Not only are checkpoints legal the way they are in Israel, they're also legal when there is occupation.
Israelis make the most Illegal settlements, and to be honest i wouldn't consider "Palestinian illegal settlements"
it is Originally Their land, and many have lost their homes, many homes destroyed by bulldozers
Ahmed Gypsy King Adam
"Israelis make the most Illegal settlements"
That's because Israelis have more permits to go by, so it only makes sense. Unlike the Palestinians, Israelis have to have a security permit. Which is the missing one in most cases.
"and to be honest i wouldn't consider "Palestinian illegal settlements""
Israel's law is clear. If you don't have a permit, it's illegal. Not to mention the various settlements built on Israel's sovereign land, which is illegal under international law.
"it is Originally Their land"
That depends on what you mean when you say that. Which is anyway not true, either way, since the Palestinians also build on land that never belonged to them at any point in time.
"and many have lost their homes, many homes destroyed by bulldozers"
Due to illegality.
we need peace
we dont want to see blood
Suprised his arabic is very good he's pronounciation is really good for a non muslim
non muslim? i know tons of arabs who are non muslims. Arabi is just another language, and islam is another religion. Most muslims probably dont understand arabi (but maybe can read some). I also heard, what makes falastini dialect differ from high-arabi is its aramaic influence. Is that true?
