🤔 Don't really know how NZ gauges "area" but it was only an hour & half for our place in Auckland, what a beautiful drive and we LOVE that part of the world so much 💜 Can't wait to come back and explore more towns, coast & mountains!

Travelling Auckland to Wellington and missing Hawkes Bay and Taranaki-New Plymouth.You’ve missed the hinterland.Plenty of different classes of eateries thruout the North Island.Just ring around and book.Tauranga,The Mount,Hastings -Napier,You will be spoilt for choice,so many restaurants ,takeaways and feast serving wineries in the latter.

All of NZ is NOT a budget destination .Thruout the land are boutique destinations such as Huka,Terawera and Mangapapa.Some will serve you snacks and meals any hour,day or night.When our family groups visit NZ they normally hire a gas engined Toyota Highlander and stay at well equiped holiday parks with full cooking facilities in unit.The heavy vehicle is to tame the tedious road surfaces.Stay Safe.

Awesome. We actually had some help from a local (also stating they are not quite ready) and managed to get thru it. Altho, we drove considerably more than 1500km, Almost 4000. Thanks for the comment and watching we really appreciate it 👍

I drove 1500km over 6 days last year in a EV all over the north island and didn’t have one problem.
