Tough I lost my Mom to a stroke in 2020. My Mom's house in OC is about 15-20 years newer - but similar.I have kept in touch with her neighbor of 55 years plus -- which is a comfort.Keep those sweet memories.
It's always a bittersweet experience...I remember when my parents sold the house I grew up and retired to a different state. You don't want to lose the old one and definitely want to keep the memories.

I live in my Grandma's house, which is next door to the Family home. Both parents died in 2010, and my brother c0ntinued to live there until just last month, when he passed away, Now I see things getting thrown away to the dump , things I have no room for, and watch family history (things) getting tossed away! I grew up in that house :(
My Grandparents was from Safford Arizona it is a small town I love there house so much they had huge backyard of acres and my grandpa and grandma had pigs horse chickens and my grandpa also did horseback riding and Rodeo I still missed them everyday
