A collaboration between the design team at Hagstrom the Swedish band Ghost, Fantomen (Swedish for “The Phantom”) transports Hagstrom’s legendary playability and technical excellence into a new, edgier realm. We started with an elegantly asymmetrical solid-mahogany body to which we have joined a mahogany neck using our classic mortise-and-tenon neck joint system. Of course, since it’s a Hagstrom, the Fantomen uses our H-Expander® truss rod and Resinator® fingerboard, providing the ultimate in playing surface stability and optimal tonal enhancement. Together these components create an incredibly stable, resonant and responsive sonic foundation.

It’s funny how everyone’s comparing this guitar to explorers and firebirds, when it’s a direct rip off of the Gibson RD Artist. I have one of these beasts and I love it, very nice to play. I do like the humbuckers but it is a bit of a challenge to get them to sound tight as they are naturally rounded and warm. I find that a top boost and a compressor helps that issue.

This is a cool guitar Adam. Sounds great and with the softer corners for me, it’s definitely more aesthetically pleasing than the Explorer. 😎

Sweet, my boss ordered one of these guitars. We've been hearing about it for like, 6 months. I hope he gets it soon so it can just sit in the stack. Then we can get some peace and quiet.

Hagstrom was originally a Swedish Guitar brand. Later is was sold to US. But this particular guitar with the name "Fantomen" (Swedish). Whish means "The Phantom". Its a collaboration between the Swedish metal band Ghost and the Hagstrom designers. This guitar has been popular due to the band Ghost. The pick-ups are specially made by a Swedish pick-up maker named Lundgren. So this model is sooo Swedish.

They're made in China, but don't let that deter you. The days of China making crap products is long gone. Where are Iphones made? Where are all your TVs made? I have a Hagstrom Ultra Swede, and I like it better than the $2000 Gibson Les Paul Classic I got sitting right next to it.

Couldnt agree more. I know many love Blackstar but I cant stand them. Im not a fan of british amps to begin with but this is half assed example of a brit amp if ever there was one and their american sounds are more shril then even the brits on the clean end. The distortion sounds like a pillow has been thrown in front of the amp anytime you kick on distortion on a blackstar. Just shit through and through.

Several other vids showing the guitar sounding good. The mistake was using a little 5 watt combo amp.
