The Episode of WCW Thunder Written By Kevin Nash - DEADLOCK Podcast Retro Review
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- The year is 1999 and Kevin Nash is in charge of writing this episode of WCW Thunder! The Finger Poke of Doom just happened and The nWo has reformed as a super group called the nWo Elite. However, there is another group of nWo guys who are getting fed up with the way things are, the nWo B-Team. This group consisted of Stevie Ray, Horace Hogan, Vincent, Brian Adams, and Scott Norton! As we kick off WCW Thunder, the nWo B-Team is getting tired of waiting on the nWo Wolfpac Elite to arrive at the building so they send Horace Hogan out to the parking garage to wait for them to arrive. When the nWo limo arrives, it’s anything but the nWo, it’s actually the 4 Horsemen and they beat the crap out of Horace Hogan! Later that night the nWo B-Team challenged the 4 Horsemen to a 6 man tag match for the Main Event! As this is going on, Vincent changes his shirt from the nWo black and white to the red and black, causing chaos within the group. Also, Ric Flair is in charge of WCW as he recently shaved Eric Bischoff’s head and we are building to Ric Flair vs Hulk Hogan at WCW SuperBrawl IX for the WCW World Championship!

I can't believe Tony materialized out of thin air just to get some heat in on HBK
Tony popped in, in-between Dialysis treatments and Taking his Geriatric Medication 😏😅😂
@@Gebraldo420completing menial tasks 😂
Getting ready to hit us with those classic "Boy/Girl parties" from his past when he gets back xD

Pulse and Jawnny doing Hogan getting WCW to sign a bunch of ECW main eventers to big deals just so he can beat them, when that’s literally what Triple H did in 2002-3 WWE
scott norton literally wrestled for the the IWGP title in the main event of the jan 4. tokyo dome show then 2 weeks later was stuck in the nwo b-team lockerroom for 6 hours
Well, that's pro wrestling in North America for ya.
I remember Scott Norton. I don't remember much about him, but I remember seeing him a few times.
As somebody who has dipped in and out of wrestling, these podcasts are absolutely fantastic at showing me all the stuff I missed out on
Yeah, I was a big mark as a kid in the late 80's with Hogan. I also loved Koko B. Ware because of his entrance theme and Freddy his parrot. I liked Junkyard Dog, I loved Macho Man even in those heel days when he had his battle with Ricky Steamboat (whom I didn't really care for, I thought he was boring). I kind of fell out of favor with it during high school and got back into it later into my 20's because my girlfriend's kid brother was really into it. So this would be when Undertaker hit big, The Rock, Stone Cold, etc. I have tried watching some of the newer stuff for the last few years and it just doesn't really do anything for me.
Man, Glacier as a little league coach is the best idea ever. Disney should've made that into a movie. See him giving the big, heart-felt speech to a group of ragtag underdogs while decked out in his Subzero gimmick.
He would make temperature puns that all the kids hate but when he finally wins them over with his unwavering belief in them, they start making temperature puns to him
@@Zcumgod Glacier will melt their frigid reception by showing them how to pitch his patented snowball.
I'm going back in time to have this gimmick booked. Wish me luck!
@@Duk3Silv3r godspeed brother!!
33:28 "I'll take your wife and make a woman out of her" could only ever be uttered by Ric Flair or Scott Steiner and I'm not sure exactly why those guys hate each other so much when they're so alike.
Scott takes it as a gimmick and is probably has a normal ego outside of his wrestling gimmick. Ric seems like a guy who lives his gimmick on and off screen and has an ego
@@halospartan117899 I mean in the most recent ep as of this writing they reviewed a nitro where Scott and Ric are besties so it seems all gimmick
I really needed this today. Obviously we all are hurting over Bray (I cried a lot watching Smackdown). I’m also dealing with being a newly single father. I’m really sorry that this is some weird guy venting on a wrestling podcast but I’m kinda broken rn. This video is cheering me up. Thank you guys
It’s okay brother, you’re not alone duuuuuuuuude 😅
Get help from your family. Don't solo it.
I'm right there with you dude. I'm a lapsed fan and a new father; Bray and staying up with little man is what goot me back into wrestling. Stay up bro you've got this
Glad this dropped, saw it when I was randomly scrolling and needed to get cheered up after what happened to Windham.
The Fiend moments were some of the funniest early Deadlock segs ever. He seemed like such a cool dude outside the ring too.
RIP to the legend!
🙏🕊
Might not have been Deadlock but Jawnny's Fiend vs Rollins HIAC rant is one of the greatest things I've ever listened to. I listen to it every couple months.
Using his first name like you knew him 😂
Seriously/dangerously out of touch
@@coldnightmare199 Using his real name out of respect for the real person that really passed away tragically. Don't know why you felt the need to insinuate anything, whether it's his gimmick name or his real name, a really good dude passed away way before he ever should've.
RIP Bray Wyatt!!
they should do a tribute podcast
Those Hogan impersonations by James was just straight GOLD!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This review needs more Hulk Hogan booking ECW guys.
Danny Doring and Roadkill, you’re next BROTHER!
"THIS 911 IS GONNA GO ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP, BROTHER. BUT HE WON'T TOP ME, THAT'S FOR SURE, DUDE!"
@@makoncrayley I got a great idea BROTHER. 911 vs Danny Doring and Roadkill DUDE!! Who wins JACK? That’s really up to you.
OR MAYBE NOT BROTHER!!!!
HAND THE HULKSTER THE BOOK, BROTHER, CUZ I GOT A MILLION DOLLAR IDEA, DUDE! WE'RE GONNA GET NEW JACK AND WE'RE GONNA TURN HIM OVER TO THE RED AND YELLOW LIGHT, BROTHER! WE'RE GONNA CALL HIM BROTHER DUDE JACK, DUDE! HE'S GONNA TAG UP WITH BROTHER BRUTI, AND THEY'RE GETTIN THE BELTS, DUDE!
We're really glad that you're our friends, and this is a friendship that'll never ever end.
Dont jinx it
Rip to Terry Funk and Bray Wyatt
Kevin Nash booked me to enjoy this episode
Dude I have to thank you guys, Anytime I'm in a bad mood or feeling depressed, I'll whack your podcast on and man every time you cheer me up and have me laughing my ass off. You are doing the world a big favour and I have to thank you.
I remember this episode vividly and I remember loving all the ridiculous Vincent stuff
If this is Nash, Kevin Nash is an underrated booker
There's a little bit of Fiend in all of us.
Yawy wawy 😂😂
According to Jericho, apparently Ralphus got a big head over his few appearances and started randomly showing up at house shows unbidden, and even tried to negotiate a contract as if he was a talent and not the ring truck driver, lmao. Only in the wrestling business, brotherrr
You guys make my day better especially after the week we’ve had in the wrestling world thanks guys
My father and I always jokes about Hogan's "Thunderlips" name on Rocky III 😂😂😂
What about Mr. T. Played "Clubber Lang"??
RIP Windham
Ralphus was actually Jerichos idea, saw the dude and walked up to him, asked if he wanted to be on tv and the rest is history
Dropping in the Vine boom for the career liar line about HBK is crazy 😂
In his first book (Around the World In Spandex) Jericho actually does mention that he verbally agreed to stay months prior, but since he was unhappy he decided to avoid Bischoff as much as possible so he wouldn't get him to sign. Or something to that affect.
RIP to Bray Wyatt
Good old 1999, when Shawn Michaels was still selling the back injury because he burned so many bridges due to his addictions and Kevin Nash booked Thunder
RIP BRAY WYATT
rip Legend
💔
Rip he was way to young to go
R.I.P eater of worlds
Funk and Bray back to back 😢 I feel especially awful for Jojo and the kids. Life is crazy, tell everyone you love them
Ok so the Shawn back problem actually started with Shamrock at the DX PPV in ‘97 however the casket match (not necessarily the bump although it did help) caused the herniated disks. Shawn took a lot of lower back bumps in that match but the bump on the casket was the final nail
Raven being a rich kid is perfect character he’s the charismatic cool kid who has nerdy privileged friends who pretend to be poor sad grunge kids….except in their 30s
It would have been a great gimmick if it had been given to anyone but Raven. Raven had built his character up so well in ECW, and WCW clearly didn't get it. The grungy rich kid gimmick would've worked well if they gave the gimmick to someone else, and Raven called him out for being a poser.
I thought this was the best thing Raven ever did! I knew so many whiny geeks growing up in the suburbs who thought they were so misunderstood and oppressed; I'd always thought Raven was one of them and that his gimmick was the opposite of cool. When he did this stuff in WCW I was just like "I knew it! This is great!"
Raven sucked and never drew a dime
Raven was originally Johnny Polo, was literally was a rich kid gimmick... he was basically proto Shane O Mac
THE VINE BOOMS LEFT ME CHOKING UNTIL MINUTE 4 WHAT THE FUCk
Aw man, i got excited thinking this was the episode that Kevin Nash COMMENTATED, that one is fucking money and i need the guys to cover it
Getting off work and a new episode just dropped? AND it's WCW?! *AND* IT'S THE NASH EPISODE OF THUNDER?!
*AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*
WCW Thunder is named after Thunder Lips brother OR MAYBE NOT DUDE
Oh my god, this brought back memories of the Adventures of the nWo B-Team. Wow, that is some old lore
Kevin Nash couldn’t book a library.
Underrated comment
There's an on-stage interview with Chris Jericho on inside the ropes where he explains the whole story about Ralphus.
"gruesome twosome match" is fucking hilarious
Damn it, Tony!
Started '99 off real hot 😂
He 100% touches the casket. The spot is brutal.
John Cena was in Ready to Rumble, as an uncredited extra in the gym.
And
Could you do the one Thunder where Kevin Nash does commentary the whole night?
Shouting out Hwy 55 and John Boy and Billy?!? Skewhoa! I still have one of the fastest records for eating their burger challenge!

Mancow, oh my. He had a co-host named Turd.
uhhhhhh turd? turd?

Ummm, in ECW, Raven was introduced as Johnny Polo.
The gimmick was that the spoilt kid wasattempting to be a rebel without a cause, but everyone knows he's really Johnny Polo
Oh. Happy late anniversary guys

This podcast is amazing and absolutely Hilarious and i always laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Do some ECW shows please !!!
Lets Go To Work On These Nash Burgas...
Oh my
....also why Sandman was telling Raven to be more respectful toward his mother.
Ok to be fair when i was 15 i ruptured 2 discs in my back standing up off the commode. Not a joke. 22 years later and it never will be properly repaired
I always took it as in the Raven alternate universe, Sandman was like Raven's stepfather who he resented.....thus , " Shut up,Jim"! That is why Sandman was dressed like the prototypical corny stepdad type, no?
Hulk Hogan triple threat dude

Weird the way BPP Scot Steiner is treated as if 80s & 90s tag legend Steiner didn’t exist.
Neither Taker nor DDP are bad talkers, you fellas are just strange
Johnny could run deadlock by himself that's how good he is. Watch deadlock before Johnny it's boring and cringe. I've watched for years now and to this day I'll be the heel and say what we're all thinking, Johnny is the heart and soul of deadlock
Idk, I've never really watched NL's solo streams. Very much work better in a group for better or worse
Big talk from James considering his legend lost his career because Goldberg kicked him a little too hard. Bret Hartcels seethe over HBKchads
