I'm hearing that you intend to add to your stable, not so much replace. But, if I couldn't split lanes I would probably think a Sportster might be a worthy ride as well. Although still partial to ST1100 types if I was into touring. HD Sportster seems so much like a contradiction in terms.

I was in NY a few years ago and there were literally hundreds of cops standing around because a truck had simply fell down a sink hole. A NYer came over and talked to me saying how embarrassing it was. She said in England (she recognised I am English), a bomb could go off and it all gets sorted with a couple of dozen cops but in NY it takes hundreds of cops that don't have anything to do. Cool the way you respected and handled them. And a great bike.
yeah i believe we have the biggest police force in the country so alot of the times people feel like they just do a bunch of nothing, and honestly they sometimes are just doing a bunch of nothing lol ive seen cops sleeping in parking lots all night while working overnight shifts & yeah my personal experience has been either really bad or really chill when it comes to the NYPD lol these cops were cool though and some seemed to be in training still.... but thank you! looking to change it up a tad over the winter.

I am from Norway but live in the US. Been in OH for the most part but also a lot in Miami, Florida is right out dangerous for bikes and has boring roads. OH on the other hand is very biker friendly and has many options. When I want to hit the twisty I go to Northern Kentuckey or even down to North Carolina and the Smokey Mountains. Love to ride in the Mountains.

I went to Manhattan like a month ago to check out the Spiral at Hudson Harbor, some $1 pizza stops, and Chinatown. Was fun but I am glad I don't live or work there. Too crowded and traffic sucks even on a weekend.

I grew up when cops weren't allowed to do checkpoints and random pullovers unless you'd actually done something wrong, so I can't say "great respect", it's BS to me.
Go to France, always had the power and rights to pull over anyone from the road for no reason at all, just because they fancy checking your papers and your vehicle. I was actually surprised when I came to live in UK that cops had to have a valid reason to pull you on the side of the road!

Woah. You’re so calm. In cities here, in France, most people line split and go around vehicles any way possible. Bikes are some sort of « no-trafic » vehicles. It’s allowed in most cities, but only going slowly (upto 20mph or something) but there’s nothing impressive seeing bikers doing this at 50+ mph

From an Englishman it’s interesting to see the numbers of Police on the Street in NY. The number dealing with that stop is probably equal to all the police covering London.

It starts with the Police, as they are the ones who surround you with guns. If the Cops are cool, like the one who pulled him over, and lady who actually asked for his papers, then things go well. It’s the jerk cops who start with the negative attitude that sends everything downhill.
See this is what happens when everyone is respectful…. And rides legit… the cops even allowed him to make a left turn eventhough it’s not allowed with signs all over that intersection… bravo to all…

When that happens just keep recording, don’t escalate and become a street lawyer like what I see today. Challenge them in court and make sure their body cams are on. And just a quick one, riding in between lanes is illegal even thought cops have been discouraged to stop bikers from doing it for safety issues. If you happen to be cornered, don’t be shocked if you get a ticket. However, most cops are looking for the unlicensed and unregistered bikers. They are the real targets out there right now. Like I said, there are different cops out there. Some even ride. In any case, ride safe.. Peace..

It is disconcerting to see you riding in the center of the lane. By doing so, you are placing yourself at a much greater risk, as that is where all of the debris and leaked fluids (mainly oils) are deposited. I enjoyed the video, and love your bike!
I respect him but would never ride like this. Condition of BMW, IN AN OUT OF TRAFFIC, SPLITTING NOT for me. I rode into NYC BACK IN 2012. GOT HIT TURNING INTO my parents rode in NJ. I SAID DID YOU SEE THE turn signal? He said didn't think you were turning.... Really

The bike sounds great and looks even better. Good riding and that is how I rode for over 40 years of living in the city. Do not buy a Harley 48 which has some 60 hp instead go for the M8 Low Rider which is the most sportiest bike in HD (air cooled) line or wait until The Bronx comes out. I grew up when cops weren't allowed to do checkpoints and random pullovers unless you'd actually done something wrong, so I can't say "great respect", it's BS to me.
Go to France, always had the power and rights to pull over anyone from the road for no reason at all, just because they fancy checking your papers and your vehicle. I was actually surprised when I came to live in UK that cops had to have a valid reason to pull you on the side of the road!

Woah. You’re so calm. In cities here, in France, most people line split and go around vehicles any way possible. Bikes are some sort of « no-trafic » vehicles. It’s allowed in most cities, but only going slowly (upto 20mph or something) but there’s nothing impressive seeing bikers doing this at 50+ mph

All was good, had some good banter with them, so they proceeded to pull out a map and show us some real nice twisties. Bonus

From an Englishman it’s interesting to see the numbers of Police on the Street in NY. The number dealing with that stop is probably equal to all the police covering London.

It starts with the Police, as they are the ones who surround you with guns. If the Cops are cool, like the one who pulled him over, and lady who actually asked for his papers, then things go well. It’s the jerk cops who start with the negative attitude that sends everything downhill.

@@MADLITS1K Keep doing what you’re doing.. man. Keep the respect mutual. Just keep in mind just like any profession around the world.. There are some A#@hole cops out there. When that happens just keep recording, don’t escalate and become a street lawyer like what I see today. Challenge them in court and make sure their body cams are on. And just a quick one, riding in between lanes is illegal even thought cops have been discouraged to stop bikers from doing it for safety issues. If you happen to be cornered, don’t be shocked if you get a ticket. However, most cops are looking for the unlicensed and unregistered bikers. They are the real targets out there right now. Like I said, there are different cops out there. Some even ride. In any case, ride safe.. Peace..

The bike sounds great and looks even better. Good riding and that is how I rode for over 40 years of living in the city. Do not buy a Harley 48 which has some 60 hp instead go for the M8 Low Rider which is the most sportiest bike in HD (air cooled) line or wait until The Bronx comes out.
