@@davidpaul3821 I think you're right! I used the same mower for about 10 years...changed oil a time or two and although it didn't love to get wet, really was a great specimen of a mower the entire time!
They are great mowers. I do have to change the back wheels often on mine. Painting the height markings is what I do to, hard to believe they don’t address this little issue. I hope I can find one this year around here.
I ended up buying a new one so now I have old and new. Because I’m OCD I applied PPF on the deck under deck and cover so it doesn’t rust and it easier to clean. The PPF makes the under deck slicker so that should stop wet buildup under when mulching a bit
I can’t remember what it’s called but there are two little things like bearings that have these spring release things by that go into the plastic wheels they deploy in one direction and go back in when going in the other direction . That’s what the problem u r having sounds like to me
How is the new one holding up? I wanted to buy one here in Commifornia but keep seeing mixed reviews of the new models not built as well as the older models.
I think it's supposed to be 20 hours...so I'll do it about 10 hours. I have used synthetic in my Scag V-rides, so suppose fine to do the same with this Honda!
I did not! Admittedly it was tough to do the wrapping action whilst being in such a tight space. I'm good like that??! Ha! I think there was a zip tie involved one way or another.
You know, I'm not sure...I don't actually remember the problem with it. I need to take it to the shop but have been lazy, I just started using the new one..
Just bought one of these just for home use. Love it so far.
Probably last longer than you will??!! Haha
@lsizemo That's the hope, I'm retired now, so with proper care and maintenance I shouldn't have to buy another one for a long long time, if ever.

These mowers are tanks. Plus the cut quality is wonderful. It sucks Honda stopped making mowers in America.

As far as I can tell there is no difference at all. So holding up great!
@@lsizemo great, thank you!
Did you ever change the oil on the transmission? Dont know if yours has hydromatic one.
I never did! And it does!
Do gas tanks on commercial ones hold more gasoline?
@@mgomez5606 yes! I do not know how much more but I'd bet yes for sure
At how many hours are you planning on doing your first oil change ?
Do you ever use synthetic oil in your mowers ?

I purchased the same hour meter for my mower.
Did you take the red cover off the engine to wrap the wire around the spark plug lead ?
