OUT NOW ON KSCOPE!
Kscope are extremely proud to announce that White Moth Black Butterfly have joined the label’s roster and the release of the band’s new album Atone on 1st September.
On bringing White Moth Black Butterfly into the Kscope family Daniel Tompkins comments “WMBB signing to Kscope is nothing short of a privilege. We feel we have truly found the right home, where we can grow and develop with the help of a respected and hardworking team of people.”
White Moth Black Butterfly are a contemporary pop project with progressive and experimental music at its heart; initially created by Daniel Tompkins as a creative outlet aside from his writing with TesseracT to indulge in his other musical influences ranging from Massive Attack, Enigma, Sigur Ros, David Bowie, Michael Jackson to Tool, Dredg and Thrice.
On the evolution of White Moth Black Butterfly Daniel explains “What started out as a creative outlet has blossomed into a fully-fledged musical project. Writing music with Keshav, Randy and Jordan has been an inspiring and invigorating process and one that has allowed us to explore new sounds through contemporary vocal work and organic instrumentation.”
The album is masterfully built on organic, textured and cinematic soundscapes, with two opposing themes of loss and hope. Tompkins explains - "Whilst songs like "Tempest" and "Atone" focus on faith and forgiveness, others like "Rising Sun" and "An Ocean Away" linger on love and nostalgia; throwing the listener into a bygone world of having less and caring more. The front cover artwork captures the beauty of nature and the harsh realities of life: power and dominance. White Moth Black Butterfly represents that very same struggle."

Not only is Mac Christensen a talented musician, he is an amazing young man! He's my nephew! So proud of him!
Mac really knocked it out of the park with this: it's a joy to watch.
This is a perfect example of playing tastefully, not overplaying. Great job all around!
a drum playthrough that is also a visual artistic treat. now that's how you shoot a drums playthrough!
This is... like... the best song ever written.
I will take a moment here to appreciate the videography skills as well
well, the volume and clarity of the drums is just PERFECT. Man, kuddos! it's not screaming and creating this new smooth progressive sound. I love it!
When it comes to aesthetics aka videos and such, WMBB is absolutely flawless. The music is brilliant as well, I see a bright future for this band!
Great band to chill out to!
Kudos to you for gettin the kit out of studio, it was about time somebody did this. Such a pleasure to watch. And beautifully mixed!
Man, i *Insert word* love the clarity and mix of this song.
LOVE
I'm so excited for this! Also, that's every drummers dream, to play where no one will go and shut you up
Beautiful ....
such crazy good music , it makes me feel everything in life is okay, just so many positive vibes !! great work wmbb
Wow!
I love the song, I only wish the cymbals were mixed a little higher.
Exactly!
really amazing sound.))))
Love it!!!!!!
Beautiful song. Beautifully written drum parts.
but the mix for a drum playthrough?
Vocals are too loud, but I can pay attention and hear the drum parts anyway so I won't complain. :)
yogieatsprog

Mesmorizing!
Has anyone figured out the chords yet
Verse: D-D-G-C
Pre chorus: Cm-?-Fm-Gm
Does anyone know where to digitally purchase this album, aside from iTunes? The found.ee/WMBB_ATONE link doesn't work (for me).
Daniel,
the cover of that beautiful masterpiece reminds me of that wonderful movie:
www.imdb.com/title/tt5607714/
Is there any connection between them?
Holy fuck! So good!
Seriously, when did everybody became a sound enginer - mixing expert!?? The comments about that are ridiculous. Just enjoy the music or make a band to sound as you fucking want it to sound...
😳
I don't see the point of a drum playthrough video when the drums are so subdued in the mix at times they're inaudible.
If you think this is subdued, try being a bass player. However I agree, some of the cymbals could be louder.
Vocals too loud, drums to low... however, its a great song
Florian Gabriel I didn't know you were an expert in production
What? You don't have to be an expert in production to have an opinion on that.
It is not the mix, it is the file quality uploaded on the yt.
Sounds great, but i half wish all the vocals were exclusively dan. This vocalist feels too (not quite completely, but fairly) emotionless, theres no changes its the same all the way. idk that might just be the style (like alot of pop music) or sound they're trying for, but its just too boring. This song would be awesome if you utilized your >mj level vocalist, instead of highlighting another lord/generic indy sounding female vocalist. Sorry, had to say something, otherwise great song.
I think I know what you're saying. They are kind of typically 'pop' vocals, but I disagree. I think her vocals are beautiful. Now that the whole album is out, I really think the way that Dan and Jordan contrast each other is something unique and special. Vocally it's one of the best albums I've heard, ever.
Bad mix
No it's not!
are the drums too low?
Sai Harsha Bad comment
Lmao, never thought you'd reply to such a comment! I personally think the mix is 100% great. Hope the rest of the album sounds the same, because it will be simply amazing!
Its not a bad comment because I never said I didn't like the song or the drums. Its just if the drums were little bit higher in volume wud have been cool.
