Thank you... This video has helped me make a decision on what brand knife to go with. There are so many brands and companies out there, and the task to pick one is daunting, especially without purchasing from them all, but this video was heart warming and very human. I now want to give Global brand a try.

My great grandfather work in the steel works in Sheffield.. where stainless Steel and the CATRA machine comes from... and also some of the best engineers in the world and yes I'm a engineer lol.. but when it comes to knives the Japanese are hands down definitely the best in the world.. Mr Global what an amazing man, gentle soul...

My little sister just passed away and in her tiny flat she had a set of 21 global knives in the case that I was left. I don’t think she ever really used them as she had her go to cheap knives. I’m exactly the same and it does seem a shame these amazing tools don’t get to work in a proper kitchen like they should . Learning about mr global and his passion was so cool .

The 7pc knife set seems to be on sale, nearly every seller on Ebay here in Australia has theirs over 60% off, so if your still looking maybe check in your area now.
On ebay and I am sure other online sellers you can save a search for a specific price range and it will notify you via email if an item matching your search is at the price range you want so you don't always have to check. If there is something you want it's always a great idea to do this and have some patience.

I used Global knives the first ime 20 years ago and i had 8 of them. They were really nice and easily to handle, but they were not heavy enough for my hand. After using them for 13 years, i sold them and bought other japanese knives, the only one i kept is the big bread knife.

I bought one many decades ago when they first came to the UK, they were of course premium quality, looked radically different and expensive but perhaps not as expensive when they first came here they were something of a premium bargain… two decades later I am still using the very same knife and added others to it.
    Great tools.

Ask yourself why do people in Japan live so long? Then research Japan. Not the kind of research a tourist does. Research the actions of Japanese government, the fact that over seventy percent of Japan is forested, the fact that the streets are so clean live fish live in the gutters and so on. You'll start to see the difference between good government and the government we have.

I think they lowered their standards over the years. My sister has all Global knives from about 17 years ago and has used them ever since and none snapped in half. I just looked at reviews on Amazon and many many reports of them snapping in half in a relatively short time.
