This is a massive project, just to clear a lane big enough for ships to pass thru... removing the bridge will most likely take a couple of years. This is a BIG BIG job.

Here's the question that needs to be answered. How long was it known the boat was without power? As a port city Baltimore had to have tugboats docked nearby. Why weren't they used to divert it from hitting the bridge? Had that been done this wouldn't even be a news story. Who dropped the ball? Isn't this a Democratic run city?
It first lost power at 1:26am. Tugboats had released around 10 minutes before that. They typically don't take ships past the bridge. When the ship lost power the pilot radioed for the tugs to come back but it was too late at that point. Clearly the ones who dropped the ball are the owners and operators of the ship that lost power and hit the bridge. You're being silly trying to blame this on the big meanie democrats. If they dropped the ball, then so did the Trump's republican administration for not passing federal regulations to require tugboats to take ships past critical infrastructure.
