Thank you for this video ! The Bonus Hint at the end makes so much sense ! This is something I can actually manage (wood pile/chopping , etc...not so much !) You make everything easy to duplicate and sensible...and fun !! Be safe and well !
Thanks for these videos. I always wondered if having air flow under the sticks made a difference. You showed it makes a huge difference. 👍. Sending lots of love 💖 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵😷
I think you've got a keeper! If you've got a couple of extra concrete blocks you might want to stand them up on either side to support the pavers and keep them from tipping.
The material that you will need are fire brick. The tremendous amount of heat will degrade them quickly Other material cools be rock wool. There are many materials out there. Fire is fun
What about a masonry brick on the top of the scooped block? Seems like it may fit there close enough to block that air gap. Can't wait for the cooking videos, I have tried cooking on the top of my chiminea but it's much less efficient than these rocket stoves I imagine.
I’ve made grilled cheese on the rocket stove. There’s a vid in the playlist about that! A brick might close up the gap, I’ll go find some better concrete blocks. Thx!
There is a dying skill here in the UK , Dry Stone Wall building where much the same as your neighbour sorted rocks to make a stable wall. They are all over the place as field and property boundaries. That is the best looking FDire Pit I have seen. Much better than the bought ones.
I read somewhere that burning galvanized wire gives off toxic fumes. I'm worried about contaminating the food that I'm cooking. I think my BBQ has a warming rack I never use... So I'm gonna use what I have. 😜. 💖🌞🌵😷
That looks to be working really well! I’m impressed that everything seemed to fit (the pavers were just the right size, and who knew pan supports fit concrete blocks?!)
Ah, no. But I’m working on it. Have to move all the scrap wood I burn out of the shed and up to the garage. Then finish the new evaporator. I hope... eric.
Hi. Check out Garden Design on UA-cam. He designs n builds large grills, one, two, three hole rocket stoves out of cement, brick n some rebar. Check it out for some ideas. Love the pups. Peace to you and yours

Of all the videos on rocket stoves I have watched, yours were the most fun, entertaining, and useful. Thank you.

How fun , I might need to try this with my family . What a beautiful day it was when you filmed this 🤩
Yes Brenda, it was bright and warm. Stay safe! Eric.

Good tip Brian, thanks for that. I just about dumped the whole thing off the plywood and sawhorses there in the middle of the vid. :) eric.

Hi James, agreed. We have several stone walls just in our yard. Lots of free rock 😀
Love your videos , greetings from Czech Republic :-)
Hi Paola! Great to hear from you , Eric.
This is a great upgrade!
More Fire = Great!

More Fire , more Fun . I wished i had a big garden in the woods like you. Here in this "compressed" Living Area we are not allowed to do open fires...
Nice job!
Love burning fires out door!
Nice Erik
Hardware cloth for the winz!
Excellent fun!!!!! I grew up the same way:). Thank you Darlene:) Happy, healthy Thanksgiving! God Bless
Yes Mary, big thanks to Darlene !
Take a soup can and leave the one end on and bend it to fit in the gap, to stop the air flow, ✔👀👍
The flat end ones are called sash block
Good to know. Thx!
Brick with screen grate works much better. I will go with that.
Yes the screen helps. Thx!
That looks to be working really well! I’m impressed that everything seemed to fit (the pavers were just the right size, and who knew pan supports fit concrete blocks?!)
Yeah that was a karmic moment when the stove grate fit nicely. 😀
Does that wire mesh melt eventually?
I have the same problem of not enough air flow.
Is this how you plan to cook thanksgiving dinner :)
one word: donuts! - Eric.
Concrete blocks dehydrate and disintegrate in a fire. It happened to me while boiling maple syrup. Will not last a couple of fires.
Nice I love the pups (of course)
always good to hear from you Craig, thx! ERic.
wouldn't the door threshold divider items be an idea to limit the gaps a little if any??
Worth a try, thx!
I think you got it.
Yeah this was fun Danny, now to try to cook on them. 😀 Eric
Hi Spike and Andy
Hi 😀
I know Charlie pup passed a few months ago but has your other yellow lab gone as well now? Trying to remember her name I know it was a boy name.
Hi Gary, thanks for asking. Henry is still here. 14 yrs old and keeping the pups, and us, in line. 😀thx! Eric.
Slap some mud in that gap!
Are you ready for maple syrup season
Ah, no. But I’m working on it. Have to move all the scrap wood I burn out of the shed and up to the garage. Then finish the new evaporator. I hope... eric.
That pup is growing too fast
Yes!
You saw that video too? Lol
