I got to work on this one trying to extend it into all fathers, because my own wasn´t and isn´t that good, and actually after last year me healing even the slightest of his damages, this year he made sure our relationship would now brake again because of the level of insults because he could not take a joke when I told him my sisters and I would now laugh so much because of seeing how in this life you harvest what you sew?... because him being neurotic we had to be like super extra careful with every little thing or the day would break. And now that we have kids, he´s the one having to be careful with that mouth of his. So... today, with the best sons I could wish for, I must at least thank him for giving me the life, even though abandoned young. And at the end of the day... it was with his records that I knew of Cat Stevens. I would spend hours looking at the covers and listening to Cat´s songs since childhood, so that along with many other positives we have to focus on. No doubt we can screw up until our last day on Earth, if life is for learning and we learn from mistakes, I understood we´re prone to make them till that final day. Happy fathers day to every single father out there, each with their own crosses to bear.

Simply stunning how this great artist can make this classic song still sound fresh and perhaps even more wonderful than the older original version long may he run
Just about every time I put this song on my headphones, and listen to it without distraction, emotions well up inside. My lifelong dream was always to raise a son, and I'm doubly blessed to have two I'm very proud of. But going through the process of them moving on, making big decisions on their own, of me having so much I want to share but trying to avoid over-offering advice, of having been a young boy/man once myself, remembering my own challenges, it all just gets me. Cat Stevens/Yusuf really laid a nice track, I love you sir. I don't know a father of sons that isn't touched by you.
Sounds like something only a man this old and wise could write, but yet he wrote this at 20 years old. Your music is a blessing.

After struggling with the young man voice, he finally gets up there. Go Yusuf!
Hello how are you doing today...
All I CAN HONESTLY TELL YOU IS,WHEN I HEAR CATS VOUCE,I DRIFT BACK IN ANOTHER DEMINSION AND JUST ,SMILE- AND FEEL.THE REAL DEAL -LOVE💖💋💖💋🌷🌷💖💋💖🌷
Hi Patricia, how are you doing?
Thankyou for the performance. You are like a blues singer age only flavours the music. Thankyou again
Simply stunning how this great artist can make this classic song still sound fresh and perhaps even more wonderful than the older original version long may he run
For me a true masterpiece...and what great, incredible artist..
Your musuc has profoundly moved me throughout my life. God bless you absolutely legendary
Your song fills my heart with the great loss of my son dad who was taken from us the person is still not found and my son is praying God bless you
Thank you Yusuf. I am and always shall remain a fan.😎✌Kez.
Used to perform this with a friend in Coffee Houses and cabarets back in the 1970s and 1980s
