    Thanks for your continuing inspirational talks. I lost my partner of 25 years last year.
    I dove into YT content creation since then and it's kept me going. I also saw your article this morning on Business Insider and was so proud of you. Thanks again for keeping us going.
    You're helping me navigate the content creation space and the work it takes to achieve success. The content creator community is what it takes to be successful which is what I'm just now learning.

    I agree with keeping the focus on the one product type. I'm starting with JUST sweatshirts. One month into this and listing in my spare time. I'm hoping that I'll get my first sale soon. 🤞

    I feel like you can copy a best seller to a T, and it will not make a difference..bottom line they will always be on the first pages on Etsy and we know buyers are not going scroll to page 90 to find your listing:(… he was very guarded in what he was saying …a lot said, but little value 😢

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah  Рік тому +3

      mmm I would argue deeply with this statement, this game is not simply about copying bestsellers, I would suggest watching the full interview. Its about building a real recognizable brand that adds more value than your competition and there are clear ways of doing this.

      I actually think he gave a very very clear roadmap and I've watched a lot of Etsy teachings and He literally gives you a direct strategy.
      1. Choose ONE Product to hone in and focus on.
      2. Study the first few hundred best sellers in that niche - study every aspect of the listing, inc design, info, pricing etc.
      3. Go through every single one, make notes to have a clear idea of what your product will be and how it will add value ONTOP of whatbyou have already seen.
      4. Go do the thing!

    Hannah/Jesse, A few questions popped up.
    First question: When honing in on 1 product type, ie t shirts, does that mean "only" t shirts or can it also include hoodies, sweatshirts (comfort colors sweatshirts, tie dye sweatshirts, regular sweatshirts)? Would love your opinion on the best way to go with this.
    Second question: Using our masterlist of best seller listings, are you saying to also do our shirts in the same niche as the top selling listings, (their top seller listing is in the teacher niche as an example, are we supposed to also choose the teacher niche or are we supposed to choose our own niche, but incorporating what we have studied from the top seller listing into our own niche, ie fishing? Thanks!

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah  Рік тому +3

      To answer your first question, hone in on just t-shirts first and master the art of what works best for that before moving on to the next. It is not that you can't have mugs and shirts and wall art in the same shop, but each category has different value props you will discover by just going all in a researching the category. So master one before moving to the next.

      @EcomHannah  Рік тому +2

      For 2, Both of those are correct you can emulate whats working exactly and try to make it more catchy or more likable in the search pages or just get inspired by it and take it in a whole new niche if it works for that niche.

    This is interesting 🧐!!! I actually leave Etsy POD for a jewelry business in Shopify. I did the opposite of what he did. I am figuring out what to do.

    It’s not just a matter of trying it’s a matter of succeeding. For everyone who drops their last $125 on a venture and succeeds there are 10,000 more who did the same thing and struck out with their last penny.

    • @EcomHannah
      @EcomHannah  Рік тому +2

      For sure, sorry for the confusion, I do not think Jesse is suggesting go broke with your business venture, he was just sharing his personal story, right. Thats what these podcasts are about. For instance Stephen my last interviewee was a great example of that, who had 3 years of failed business models before one succeeded, I am also a similar story. Sharing peoples stories are supposed to inspire whats possible, hopefully this interview did not do the opposite for you!

    • @bertnerny
      @bertnerny Рік тому

      @@EcomHannah Thanks and no, it didn’t do the opposite for me. It’s just that it becomes too easy for false hopes to be built when people are watching polished UA-cam videos full of success stories.
