Criminally underrated. Think his injuries and lack of goals/assists kept him under the radar. Not that goals or assists matter to him or his role. If he was never injured and was involved in a few more goals, he'd have been very much in demand. Our decline definitely began as he got injured more and then left.
This guy changed everything in midfield from a holding aspect.. Arsenal fan here but one thing Scholes hated about Pogba is the discipline part and be able to play in a pivot.. Dembele could. Players like Partey are unicorns because they have special traits and become the all in one mid with style and guile. I'd like to mention Santi.. It was an era filled with Mata and David Silva... He didn't have a position but when he played cm🙏🙏
I was playing some fifa 15 on my old Ps4 making. Took Arsenal for a Carrier and my scouts recommended me Dembele. Turn out this guys was a complete freak. I had to know more. Thanks for giving him the light he deserve.
How would Modric and Dembelé make a world class double pivot? With both of them trying to build from deep, break the lines -in completely different ways-, control the tempo, link defence and attack etc. Modric and Dembelé played the same position and role, as the link up player and play maker from deep positions. But they played it in polar opposite ways. Modric with quick feet and quick thought. Dembelé with increadible close control and physical strength. For me Modric is the best midfielder ever to play the game. But Dembelé is a unicorn of a player, one of the best ever, but underrated because of his unique set of skills. Also, a video about Moussa Dembelé with 3 lazy comments about spurs not winning a trophy would have tipped me of that you don't really know that much about football, if not for the sugestion of a Modric/Dembelé pivot.
I'm an Arsenal fan and I still loved this guy
One of my biggest annoyances is how Pochettino Mauricio attempted to replace Moussa dembele with Harry Winks.
Never give a boy a man's work.
Or mason Ryan

Gascoigne - Le Tissier - Beardsley, all phenomenal talents that sadly never reached their peak heights.
