I wish they'd videod this too. I remember listening live at the time; I was 14 and Blur-obsessed.

I remember at the time. Should be recorded...were they in the garden open air? Peel Acres.... thought it was inside...

I love Damon's increasingly degenerating freak-out here. It's a great way to end out On Your Own. I wish the studio version was like that.

Why didn't they release this Country Sad Ballad Man Peel Sessions version?

only reason i could ever think of was that the cd singles were limited to only include 3 songs
and since a live version of "country sad ballad man" had appeared on the song 2 cd single, it seemed redundant to release another, strange that they didnt at least release it on the bustin + dronin album tho

They didn't even release it on Bustin' + Dronin'. What the hell? They had a whole CD dedicated to this session, and CDs can hold up to around 78.5 minutes of audio. They could've easily fit Country Sad Ballad Man on the disc.

@@Filthylittleangels good explanation for something that is probably very silly. live at budokan has something similar. i always thought it was little odd opening a 1995 Great escape show with Jubilee. turns out they opened with Charmless Man but that and Chemical World were left off the Budokan live albums cos ... they were prevously released on the It Could Be You single as b-sides ?? so silly.

@@bitroast frustratingly they were cut and held back for that single release. And more frustratingly they were not restored to their correct place on the album when the album was remastered for Spotify. I hope if they ever do a vinyl issue of that album that they will restore it to a complete show . Wonder why they spliced in she’s so high from a different show also
