Hi thanks for that video. That's a lot of notions. what helps me to declutter my notions was : learning to use scrap yarn as tools: stich holders, markers, row counter( I also use paper and pen) , learning to knit cable without cable needle ( I have only three, which I use some time), I learned how to use ladering to repair stitch errors, how to read my knitting. And for the needles I have some interchanbles which I use most. And for some pattern I always try to adapt the pattern to my gauge and chosse the correspinding size.
I am so jealous of your lovely shelves of wool! I have to say, my sewing box and knitting bag is always tidy. I have to have a tidy bag, it drives me potty when i can't find things. Like you i always put the same things together. I agree about stitch markers, i only like certain ones. Love the channel. I have knitted for years but love the way you teach and am still learning new things. Yes please about pom poms, also please think about button holes for cardis, and maybe some more cabelling xx 😊
Hi Louise, it's taken a while to get them looking this lovely, been on my wish list for a long time. So glad to have you here, thanks for watching every week! 🧶
I use a barrel style row counter with an attached ring. I use the ring to attach the row counter to the beginning of the right side row by pinning it to work. I don’t hang it from the needles as it’s too bulky. Seeing the a row counter at the beginning of each right side row prompts me to use it. I use the row counter as a back up because I use knitCompanion for all my patterns and I will highlight what row I am on in that app.
Thanks Hannah - love your honest and friendly style! So relatable. I chuckled over the row counter - I always end up having to count rows from the beginning because I am so unreliable at turning it! Great idea to donate surplus items. Tough to do in practice (e.g. surplus aluminium crochet hooks or bamboo needles that I’ve picked up from magazine kits!)
Thanks for a great video! I love seeing what others have when it comes to notions. I use row counters (have 2 at the moment, both "click" ones) and find them very helpful for large knitting och crocheting projects. I don't have a notions bag but I think I need one. Just have to find the right one 🤔
So glad you enjoyed seeing the tools, this bag is a ‘wash bag’ which I had too many of already, so when it was a Christmas gift I had to find it another use. Happy knitting!🧶
Good job, Hannah! I did tidy my tool kit a while ago but have now done it again with you. I have recycled a make up case to double as a tool kit. It has lots of pockets for small and large items. I also have a zippered notepad case that I take with me when I go to appointments or ?.... Load it up with tapestry needle, pen, ruler, anything I need. Thanks for the inspiring video. I also have The Knit Kit that eliminates alot of unnecessary items to lose or scrummage for.
Hi Eugenia, thanks for sorting with me! The kit bag I use is a travel toiletries bag. Had no idea whether I'd ever use it when I was gifted it, then needed a larger bag for my tools and it came to mind. It's been the kit bag I use for over a decade now. They certainly are prefect for this kind of storage.
One thing I like to keep in my notions bag is a small pkg of dental floss. I use it for lifelines. I take a piece and thread it through my Knitters Pride Zing needle keyhole and just knit the lifeline through! ✌❤🇨🇦
I am planning to attend a sheep and wool fest, and now, on top of the question of what camping gear to bring and what knitting project to work on while there (acrylic definitely a no-no), I need to sort my knitting bag!
Thank you! 🧶 one section or one theme at a time for me tends to work. Then once the bits are tidied I can see if I need to combine storage or reorganise.
Well, thus inspired I peered into the recesses of my own tool kit and the first thing I pulled out was.... a packet of drawing pins! How did they even get in there?!
Here's a video. It's what I suggest for children starting to knit, or for anyone who wants to understand the stitches a bit better. The fact that the stitches aren't held on a needle for this makes it less cumbersome. ua-cam.com/video/8XBJ9X9rVbE/v-deo.html
I love knit pro. I think I keep their business going single-handedly.
LOL! I"m sure lots of people do that! Happy knitting 🧶
I think it's funny, yesterday I watched your episode explaining what was in this bag, and it was so clean!
LOL! Yes, it's been four-and-a-half years can you believe that I've been making videos for this channel, so it's been through a lot! Happy knitting 🧶
I'm glad I'm not the only one who puts off cleaning out my notions bag. I enjoy your channel.
haha! yes, it's another 'I'll do it when I've finished the next project' kind of task! happy knitting 🧶

yay, for those needle-less cables! - I only tend to pick them up with the more complicated cables tat need a bit more care. Happy knitting 🧶

2 methods so you can check is a great idea! Happy knitting 🧶
OMG-thank goodness someone else has a collection like I do!
Haha! 😅 I bet we’re not alone! Happy knitting 🧶

That row counter can feel more trouble than it's worth!

Lol at your little washbag. I have two huge bags and I mean huge!!
You've not seen my 'don't use very often, so sits in the back of the cupboard,' accessories bag!
OMG Hannah, you have a lot of notions! Good job organizing it all.
Haha! Yes, and I surprise myself every time as I use them all! 🧶 happy knitting!

@@KnitWithHannah Isn't it just amazing how much stuff one can put into a lovely small case. Anyway, thanks for the inspiration.
I found a cath kidston glasses case that's perfect for holding any circular needles I need in my knitting accessories bag, it's great when traveling
That's a great idea! Happy knitting! 🧶

That's a great idea! Thanks for sharing, could be simpler to thread through than a piece of the same yarn. Happy knitting 🧶

oh, an i-person fest! Hope you have fun... and yes, good idea to sort the knitting bag before you get going. 🧶
Love the new space with the knitty background 😊 I’m guilty of half of pairs out too for ages until I can get the two close enough to be reunited 😂
Thanks! And I know I’ve bought more needles in the past because I think I’m missing one! 😂 🧶
Heck! I felt your pain looking at your things on the table. I've just ordered some shelving so I can (hopefully) be more organised. We will see...
I bet that will help so much. 🧶have fun with the organising! Happy knitting 🧶
@@KnitWithHannah Thank you, I certainly hope it will, the main problem will be retrieving everything from the hidey holes around the house, lol.
I gave myself a few days to see it all around the house, and pick things up when I saw them! 😂
Completely loved this video!
Thank you! 🧶
Luv your videos. So inspiring and I can certainly relate to this video, except my rubbish pile is a mountain of overwhelm 🐥

😂 crazy, right! It’s such a useful space, becomes like a handbag 👜 if I don’t sort it often enough! 🧶
Oh how I wish I could get the hang of the knitting...crocheting is so much easier for me.
Perhaps branch out a little bit, like with Tunisian crochet or french knitting. So there’s less to change at first.
@@KnitWithHannah I can do tunisian crochet but never heard of French knitting. Will have to check that out.

A beautiful skein of 4ply wool I’m trying to wound into a manageable ball, what a mess Iv made of it
oh, no! I do hope it's salvageable. 🧶
First one
Good morning! 🧶
