@@kylewhite4150 well, it all depends on the subgenre. I'm not a huge fan of gabber because it's pretty much only kicks and some audio samples. Many genres of hardcore have melodies, but most of them aren't meant to be happy uplifting and give you that warm feeling. I'm more leaning towards the darker/faster/harder sides of hardcore which is pretty much there to give you high amounts of dark energy. Harder genres give an escape from bottled up rage and stress, while euphoric genres suppress rage and instead replace it with more positive feelings. All in all, it comes down to personal preference,
For me it's all just "hardstyle", it's just that some hardstyle is more aggressive, and some is more atmospheric and melodic. That's not to say aggressive stuff can't have good atmospheres though.

This feels a bit controversial especially reading all the comments with their own opinions but this is pretty correct for the most part. Raw songs in here are a good choice as they have their base as bass that is the main focus of the song.. And all the Rawphoric (something I never knew existed before) seems to also fit in the list because they are in combination of a lot of bass and melody that is euphoric. A lot of people here seem to mistaken the regular hardstyle pop style like what some of the creators do and apply it to most of them and hardly ever notice the slight difference in hardstyle genres. But in this list the songs are in their right genres so if people simply can't see the difference then try listening to more songs and listening in depth to the difference they have :) EDIT: Also regarding raw and xtra raw genres, there seems to be a really difficult difference between those two which is why people say "it all sounds the same" But I believe from my years of experience, that the difference is in the amount and the type of bass there is.. So for example, xtra raw would be unique and really hard bass like in the Radical Redemption and Yellow Claw - 20.000 Volts, how unique the bass is in that song is unlike any other song along side the different ways of using it to make a bass melody in a way (if that makes sense) that's why it's xtra raw. The Raw genre would be using less of unique bass but more regular ones to keep it more monotone (the older songs of raw were mostly in raw, I've heard a lot of them being used in Hard with Style podcasts 20-40 ep as it was slowly but surely evolving into what we have today is the xtra raw that sounds so raw but good. Example of a song would be Donkey Rollers - Strike Again (Psyko Punkz remix))
