Cab Fare Scams in Washington DC

How much should you pay for a cab ride in the nation's capitol? The DC Taxi Commission use the zone system, which makes it very confusing for the customer, and very easy for the driver to steal the customer's money.

The city zone boundaries were drawn-up in early times, by the U.S. Congress, to cleverly place the Capitol Building just barely within the main center-city zone, and save Congressional staff money when they ride. I understand the zone-system has now been abolished, and D.C. NOW USES PER-MILE METERS INSTEAD, LIKE EVERY OTHER CITY.

lol..government at work..since you've only got one or two recorded incidents, we won't suspend the license, but if there's a pattern of conscientiously doing it, then we'll suspend.
