Wrap your head around this: the Tarkin bust at 21:00 was painted with just four colors: blue, red, yellow and white. Everything in between he was mixing himself. It was painted in about 4 hours. He made a WIP post a few days earlier where you can see the palette. That guy needs a patreon asap!
There is a really important point about Portraits and photos. Cameras do not see the world the way the human eye does. Painting off of a photo inherently changes the nature of the image to one which is not related to human perception. paintings painted from a live subject will always have an inherent quality and closeness to humanity which paintings from photos will never have.
I'm disappointed David isn't actually a Daschund with a walk in wardrobe of elaborate costumes
