Finally. It took 3 days to search for sublimation on canvas but the only thing out there was dollar tree flat canvas. I wanted a more professional picture canvas as if I ordered it. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH MONICA. I DEFINITELY SUBSCRIBED AND LIKED AND SAVED YOUR VIDEO! YOU ARE AMAZING.
Best tutorial on Canvas that I've seen!!! I was stumped because I wanted to use the type of canvas you demonstrated but wasn't getting even press or colors right. I did it your way and it turned out perfect. thank you thank you!
Can you heat press to a piece of glossy paper? I’m trying to make a poster and I’m thinking of using a heat press because I’m hand making it, by mixing different elements from different printed sheets of paper.
what is the spray for? can u post a link for spray for lowes/homedepot. Also can i use laminating sheet that comes in envelope(one part out of the envelope)?
What if i don't have those tools to remove the staples? can i just put a towel underneath to give it support? i don't wanna ruin a perfectly good canvas if i do that though. So if i can't do it that way i guess I'll buy the tools. Where can i find them? Are they expensive?
@@monicamorris9531 but how would i put it back together? I just put a towel under. It worked. But i realized i have 100% cotton canvas so it didn't work that well.
@@45Bryseida you would staple it on the back again. So take some clear spray paint and spray over the top of that and that should help make the color pop a little more with sublimating just on the canvas
But then you dont get the image sublimated around the entire frame and it looks terrible. This is for a full coverage sublimation to take up the entire canvas.
The laminating film is a type of polyester. The canvas I think is cloth if some sort. You need polyester to make it work with sublimation. They do make poly sprays to put on cotton
Hi. I did exactly what you showed here and it didn't work for me. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I have a heat press; have it set to 390 for 40 seconds and it locks closed. I printed a photo on sublimation paper with an Epson Sublimation printer. The image will not come off the paper. Is there a setting on the printer I am missing or something? I have watched several UA-cam videos and I used the tacky spray on the image before trying to transfer; was transferring to to a canvas (that I put a transfer laminant sheet on with no issues.) I'm confused because the image wont' adhere to the laminant on the canvas. Thanks
Debra Lyman I can do larger canvas because my laminating film is 24” wide. However I have not done it with any overlap before. My guess is you would see a line
The lamination sheet makes the color pop as it is a form of polyester. The canvas is usually a cotton canvas there for the colors may transfer but they will be really light
I think I got the wrong laminate sheets, I got this brand called Fellowes Double sided laminate pouches and I'm trying to figure out if this brand will work.
FINALLY the tutorial I was looking for. STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. Excellent video!!!!!
Thank you!

I found it easiest to trace the frame to the back of the canvas before removing staples. Makes lining it up properly after sublimating fast and easy
Awesome!!!! Best tutorial on YT.
No extra talking just straight to the point you got a new subbie

So glad this worked for you!
Wonderful Tutorial. Ordered all my sublimation products yesterday. I can't wait to try this.
It’s so much fun creating stuff
This tutorial was great! Direct and to the point! Not a whole lot of talking! Definitely trying one tomorrow
The best tutorial! Thank you.
Great video, and I often wondered about the 1.5 mil laminating film.
dbiddy911 it’s what I use and seems to be a little more flexible especially when I put it on vinyl.
@@monicamorris9531 When allowed to cool, does it have any stickiness to it
Jav there should be no stickiness to it. You need to use thermal laminating film
@@monicamorris9531 okay, thank you for answering
love this simple explanation. not sure if this is an option ,but could you do this as a reverse canvas?
What repositionable spray that you mention you use? Please & Thank You!
That’s awesome. Thank you for the tutorial!!
Thank you for watching!

le saludo desde colombia ...felicitarlo por el video...tengo una pregunta porfavor....de que material esta hecho ese lienzo ? ...
Cotton with a laminated coating I added

That tool is a couple dollars at any store like target or walmart
You can also cut around the staples If you don’t want to pull them out.

@@monicamorris9531 the spray is after or before sublimating the image?
Where did you buy your canvas blank?
Nicely done video! Thank you.
You can leave the staples in. Just put a stack of paper Dow then put your canvas on top so the paper fills the empty space
But then you dont get the image sublimated around the entire frame and it looks terrible. This is for a full coverage sublimation to take up the entire canvas.
Good job,
But I have a question:
Is this material Polyester?
It's not Cotton "duck" Canvas,
To Make Shoulder Bags?
I await your answer OK.

I Love this.. thank you
Karen Griffin thanks for watching!
Very nice. May I ask where I get the spray?
Walmart, Lowe’s, or Home Depot
Is it the same spray thats used to sublimate cotton and other non poly fabrics or what kind is it? Thx
how are you printing the image on a sublimation printer and sublimation paper?
I use an epson. Wf7720
Thanks for sharing!! What repositioning spray did you use?
Spray Mount by 3m
Why do you use the spray mount? Is it just to hold in place ? Thanks 👍
Mine always wrinkles 😢 wasted so much laminating paper

Are you using sublimation ink?
I Love your video but would like to know if you wanted a larger canvas, can your lamination paper be overlapped
Debra Lyman I can do larger canvas because my laminating film is 24” wide. However I have not done it with any overlap before. My guess is you would see a line
plz tell why is the lamination sheet needed ?? can we do it without lamination sheet

@@monicamorris9531 thanks a ton .......... just was looking for someone to confirm this ..........thanks
what is that film or what is the other name of that film i thought it just paper and the canvass..
Thermal laminating film
Love the video!! Can you tell me which printer you use and what brand of ink you used?
I would put tape where the back edges are because real paintings don't have paint on the rear of the frame.
Nice thank you
Weird question but how did you get the staples out ? Like I used a staple remover but the staples in the canvas is just so down in there
I had to dig into some of them. You can also cut around the staples too to make it a little quicker
Does the image bleed after it’s all cooled down at all?
StephC19891 if you were to pull the laminating film off you would see a light image underneath. It does bleed through to the canvas itself
what is repositionable spray?
It’s like adhesive spray but you can pull up the product and move it around. It’s not permanent
Awwwwwwwesome tutorial!
Thank you :)
What type of laminated paper you used .? And where can I get it from. Thank you
Janet Diaz De Valentin I got some from Amazon. If you check the description there is a link there. It won’t let me post it here
Are you printing on sublimation paper or regular paper?
Kem Stephens I use sublimation paper. I really like the TexPrint sublimation paper
I think I got the wrong laminate sheets, I got this brand called Fellowes Double sided laminate pouches and I'm trying to figure out if this brand will work.
Are they sticky like tape?
@@monicamorris9531 yes one side is very sticky and the other side isn't.
@@quaradee9957 nope wrong kind of laminating sheets. You need thermal laminating sheets or pouches.
@@monicamorris9531 thank you!!
Dose anybody know how much this machine costs?
Mawada Ali which machine? My printer was $300 and my heat press was $350
Material???
It’s just regular canvas you can purchase at Walmart. I also purchased thermal laminate to laminate the top
Love it
Awesome video, right to the point, thanks
What am I doing wrong :( when I press the laminating poet to the canvas it wrinkles up the canvas
What process are you using?
Tried this till I figured out I didn’t have the right printer to do sublimation lol.
Oh no! Ya you need the special ink
looks horrible super shiny like that. sorry. gotta be a better way to do this.
They sell Matte laminating film as well.
You can also use a matte clear coat over it and it tones it down
They sell canvas you can sub on. Where do you get the larger laminate sheets? Does it come in a roll?
Well I wouldn't say that lol 😅
