For the vanilla, another possible solution could be vanilla bean paste. If that’s added in with the sugar and rose water it could give more of a true vanilla fragrance.
This video is AMAZING !! When I purchased my Kalemat set that included Bakhoor , I learned how Bakhoor can be used to enhance your fragrance and of course your home smells AMAZING🔥🔥
Honestly you can get Vanilla bean pods Madagascar beans are that classic Vanilla, but I really like the Mexican ones they have a more smokey depth and Boozy-ness.. but if you are making your own rose water should not be a problem to split a few beans for the paste put it aside while adding the skins to your rose petals..! Thank you for this Video Neeb
It would be great to have a follow-up video on how to use this style of bakhoor. Are you effectively creating a new resin around the wood chips and then grinding it all again with a mortar and pestle?
Fascinating! Neeb, did you grow up making bakhoor? Thank you for sharing your beautiful culture. This was awesome! This is where fragrance all started. Blessed day to you 😊
there's not enough wood chips and it really needs to go in a jar for couple days no air dry. I would use lime instead of rose water. Rose water can have a funny urine smell 😅
Thank u so much for this! Ill be using a silicone spatula to gt all that goodness out of the pan lol. Im looking for UAE fragrance/oils supplier. Pls reply to this comment if u know someone 😊
i add a lil bit frankincense..for fine burning... and vanilla.. previously just like you mention... i put too much frankincense... and yeah... overpowering... hahahaha... and like im summoning the djinn hahaha Im using sandalwood chips... to hard to fine oud here in Malaysia
The vanilla is making it smell off because you used a crappy brand. I bought a couple of Mary Tylor "essential oils" (cardamom and allspice) and I threw them out because they just smelled weird compared to the higher quality brands of those oils that I've used. I imagine it's the same thing with Mary vanilla; I'm pretty sure, at that price, it's a synthetic. IMO, those so-called essential oils should be labeled "fragrance oils". What I will use instead when I make this bakhoor, is some left-over vanilla bean pods from making gelato. (I always keep the vanilla pods after soaking in warm milk and stripping out the beans from the pods for the gelato.) I might also use some quality vanilla absolute (already diluted in carrier oil), to use it up before it goes bad. Anyway, thanks for the inspiring video! I've been trying out a sample set of bakhoors, and decided it would be fun (and less expensive) to make my own. Also, I have control over how much synthetic fragrance I'm willing to put into something that I might be smelling/breathing for hours at a time. ;-)
I really appreciate you introducing other cultures to this amazing concept. Thank you.
More to come!

Okay. This is some cool shit! Totally culturally out there for me. I’m loving it.
was the 1st batch (with the vanilla) any good when you were burning it? or was the 2nd batch better like you thought?
Definitely better. Dosing the Frankincense down

Isn’t Bakhoor is bad for your lungs when it’s burnt indoors specifically when you don’t have a good ventilation?
This looks like it can get pricy: how long does such a batch of bakhoor last?
Chai bakhoor would be dope in theory, now watching the video, I'm not so sure 😅❤

I think it would be better if you first put the rose water and then you add the sugar 😂
You talking or dancing
Wht the fuck is bakhoor ?
It's arabian incense, usually with notes of Oud, Musk, Amber, etc., lots of eastern tones
