I thought it was brilliant the way he was able to capture the fact that "flower" and "firework" are the same/similar in Korean by inventing the English word "flowerwork" ... and just the whole theme of Fireworks (high in the sky, burning brightly but brief) vs wildflowers (on the ground, blooming repeatedly, able to survive harsh conditions) was brilliantly done. Youjeen's voice is AMAZING, she's the lead vocal on a Korean rock band called Cherry Filter - and those rock vocals are so well used here. It's such an emotional song.
I feel like we feel so much of BTS in RM’s solo work because his lyrics and vision is so engrained in BTS and their music. He plays such a big role in their lyrics so it seems more familiar.
“I’ll return someday” just made me cry so much!!! I interpreted it differently but loved your interpretation about RM and his love and desire for music and know what to talk about will come back, it is a promise!!! I interpreted that someday he will be grounded and/or someday he will be able to be his old soul and be at peace and have happiness… 💜💜 Edit: I also interpreted this song/MV being Kim Namjoon vs RM (persona) vs struggles/fears/temptations
Namjoon is opening his heart to us as an idol and himself. Everything is real not cgi but only the storm is cgi. I knew the stage gonna make u guys cry
She totally reminded me of Alanis Morsette too or that style. She's from a well known Korean rock band "Cherry Filter". I don't know their music but I think that it's awesome he is getting to work with Korean legends or figures he has admired for a long time like her and Tablo as well as introducing them to his global fans who might not of heard their work before. I absolutely adore Mono and his song he featured on with eAeon "Don't" I love a lot too as it almost has the same vibe. Someone mentioned that Indigo seems almost like a halfway mix between his first mixtape RM and Mono in a way. It's definitely more of a mix like his mixtape RM with different vibes but a little more relaxed then RM mixtape like Mono is so that description makes sense to me. I need to listen to it more just haven't had the chance yet.
I was getting a 90's vibe from this and I could not figure out where it was from but as a fellow 79 liner and a Canadian we devoured Alanis's Jagged Little Pill album and she does remind me of her.
Thank you for the reaction. RM bared his soul and I hope he realizes that we understand and appreciate his honesty. He’s been through so much and surely more than we know about and he looks so free laying in that field of flowers. This is such a beautiful song. Btw, it’s only a couple seconds more but the end of the video gives the translation. 💜💜
Ok, so why am I just now finding your channel? I loved it. I cannot deal with 4 more solo comebacks. 😫 I'm glad I'm not the only emotional wreck. I'm Jin biased, but I love all 7. I have to go back and watch more of your stuff. I live in Florida too.
I got you Anitra! I totally got Alanis vibes from the vocals as well!! Was actually the first impression I got of the gorgeous vocals. And the video didn't make me cry per se (I don't cry easily at all)... but it did make me tear up which shocked the heck out of me and just proves the power of his lyrics.
This song just hits me in the feels. The video is just aesthetically please and Namjoon is just so beautiful but he looks ethereal here. (From a little google translate research) Also in Korean: Flower - 꽃 kkoch Fire - 불 bul Firework - bulkkoch (Although the lyrics are in English, see the play on words in Korean. That's so cool, right). Light a flower, flowerwork - such a pretty line. Also in Japanese (even though Japanese isn't used) Flower - 花 Hana Fire - 火 Hi Firework - 花火 Hanabi So 火 hi changes to bi Alright, next is Thai: (I don't even know how to pronounce these. But I do love hearing the language, just like Korean and Japanese) Flower - ดอกไม้ Dxkmị̂ Fire - ไฟ Fi and also ไฟไหม้ pheling Firework - ดอกไม้เพลิง Dxkmị̂pheling
To me it's like he's friend with the shadow, because that's how he felt with being in BTS. Everybody screams I love you to all the 6 members but him, and he knew it, but kept to him self. I'm not and Idol or any sort of celebrity, but I know where hes coming from. I too get that name calling and mistreated, and being ignored. With him it's the Army Who Likes all the other 6 members. I heard it with alot of concerts oh UA-cam. When he sings he doesn't get the loudest Cheer and clapping like his 6 band members
Yessss...Our RM is really a king, I'm so sorry for him, but I think this will change. He deserve so much love, so many armies loves him and the members love/adore him too...there is no BTS without RM 😊❤
OMG... his video is so beautiful. Not to mention the meaning behind each word. It's so easy wanting to be famous, but then when you are finally there, people usually yearn to go back to the beginning when everything was so simple. Fame can be very demanding and it can strip away off your own essence because you, like it or not, will always have to wear a mask in front of the audience. Can't show your true self... and that can be exhausting. I guess it's very similar to a child wanting to grow up fast. Then, when they are finally grown, the responsibilities as an adult can be overwhelming, so they yearn for those days where they didn't have a care in the world, snuggling next to mom. We all go through that. BTS has gone through it in front of millions of fans and critics. They have been pulled, used, abused and discriminated, in every way and direction possible and with no mercy. I just want them to be happy. Period!
Btw those things u guys were asking about towards the end are fireworks, all the fireworks in his MV were real. I think the specific ones u guys were mentioning are traditional korean fireworks. I saw a video of the people who do them, standing on small boats and lighting them for it. You can probably find that on twitter or someone can link the video to you.
I loved your reaction - I love seeing you & Sandi together! I knew y’all were going to cry lol. I totally bawled. I love this song so much. It’s my favorite on the album along with Lonely. His lyricism is everything. And Anitra, you nailed it with the indie comparison. YouJeen is the singer in a Korean rock band. Her voice is PERFECT on this track. The whole album is sublime. I can’t wait for y’all to hear it. 💜💜
So happy to have this song the emotions that he put into this song were amazing if he performs this live I’m done for. Also was it just me but when they said flower flowerwork did it remind anyone of Jk from BV and the fireworks reminded me of I need you bringing all this together made this song hit me even harder with emotions
Oh wow. Honestly, I'd stopped watching your channel for months because ..life got busy, I guess? And I stumbled here and ohhhh. Love you Anita😅..its so nice to see you're still the same as I remember. I couldnt help laughing when you said that at least More and Arson didnt make you cry...🤣So appreciative of the fact that you pause and theorize, that your so detail-oriented. In case no one told you-- the shots with tiny bags of powder strung up into rows and burning is actually traditional Korean fireworks called nakhwanori...deulggotnori(idk if I spelled that right) is a play on that word. It actually translates not to Wildflower but "WildFlower Game" or "Playing with Wildflowers" or..."Flowerwork" Someone else also pointed out that after all the shots of fireworks raining down from the sky, towards the end, the meadow with Joon is flipped upside down and the beautiful purple petals are gloriously raining down in a shot that mirrors the fireworks raining down -- except the flowers are grounded, strong, and built to survive. I was also reminded of Young Forever, the first song RM produced and another song that pretty much talks about this same subject doesn't it? About wanting to last and not have their dream consume them too fast, to crash and burn. In this barren field, he makes the promise he'll return, he wants to be a flowerwork...he wants to find himself grounded with all the other flowers (and fireworks, both shots also mirroring the concert shot so that feels like ARMYs are also those flowers and fireworks) and light up the sky...he'll manage both. I have faith in him, if anyone can do it, he can
19:20 It is the kind of traditional firework in Korea called 낙화놀이 (Naak Hwa (falling fires) Noli (Play)). Usually, people set it up, played on the riverside, and watched from the boat. + I just thought that it may have a double meaning because Naak Hwa also sounds the same as "Falling Flowers."
😭😭 if the visuals or the music didn't make you cry then the lyrics definitely will but combine all three and OMG 😭😭😭😭 I wish I could remember where I saw it but someone edited part Jimin's dance from BTS WORLD where he dances from one room to the other...it fits so well to the music. I knew from the start you were gonna cry, it can't be helped. Yeah, I think I'm going to be crying in all their solo works. But yeah, J-Hope didn't make you cry --- he made you head bop and rock out. 💜
Hi, i am back. Sandy! was a nice surprise. Was not expecting to see her. Sweet! Ty so much for this! 😭 i was in the hospital today for a cancer checkup. They had a really hard time finding a vein. She is a 45yo rock singer. She is part of a band. They are legends in Korea. By the way he did a live on Weverse too. Not the live i was expecting. 😅Hope u can react to that as well. U can watch it here they posted it. He also did an interview and I'll bet we will get behind the scenes so u can watch that and find out more info. This is my fav song. Totally Alanis Morissette vibes! It's funny, though, because "You Oughta Know" is always the first song I think of when her name comes up! I was fresh out of college when Jagged Little Pill came out and that was my "scream, don't cry" breakup song! The sound of it still scares my ex-husband!
